I just wish that someday they will move all that deck manipulation garbage to Neutrals and NG will receive something more consistent, strong, less meme in exchange.
NG will always suffer from this (mill/deck manipulation things) since it drains resources from something potentially good in its card pool.

Still waiting for this card to be revealed. Probably will be a Neutral Legendary like Alzur, since the woman in the art is clearly his Journey companion.

Far less interesting though; it's just a golem (or at least looks exactly like Witcher 3's golems).

There's also the castle that looks pretty at first glance but then you notice the boatwrecks at the bottom of the art.

MY first reaction was wow it might just work... But then I think, answered by any SK with the discard package, Matta and any tutor, really. Actually, on red, and when you can survive a bleed, all it takes is to just pass. And Warrit just played as Matta for the opponent.

I don't see that whole deck manipulation ever winning games with any consistency. NG still has zero tempo plays to get a pass in R1 on blue. Still has no points unless everything is set up (which never happens). Still has the worst value on bronzes and golds alike, zero competitive engines, and control cards not any better than the neutrals. Still loses R1 to the likes of ST who manage commit less but get twice as many points.

Sorry to whine again but the tiny whiny problem with this whole idea is that...don't bad draws punish themselves already? I mean... what sense does it make to get a bigger advantage when you're already winning? It is when you're losing that you need an advantage. And this deck manipulation strategy kinda bricks when they got a good draw. Correct me if I'm wrong but game theory wise, it doesn't make much sense to me.

Also, this whole strategy falls apart against SK with discard. And even if it occasionally works against the poor sods who missed their Oneiro, it will only provoke more frustration and R1 forfeits caused by misdraws.

There are other factions that offer just that why not play those instead? No one is forcing you to play a faction where you dislike half the cards. This is the sort of mentality I really don't understand in this community. Instead of reconsidering their choice of faction players want to delete faction identity altogether in favor of a more SK playstyle where everything is just big points. What about people like me who actually enjoy these unorthodox playstyles?

NR can counter it with Griffin Witcher Mentor which doesn't even require you to play the card and can buff it as well. In this case, NR player may even benefit from this.

What I could imagine due to reference of Musicians of Blaviken.

For the castle I would strongly argue for that it will be Stygga Castle (compare: https://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://pm1.narvii.com/7499/cea42e3d185c7536fa144b5ebbd9e891b6e91624r1-400-225v2_00.jpg&imgrefurl=https://aminoapps.com/c/the-witcher-amino/page/item/stygga-castle/rWo5_GJTqImn06D13wwpQaYlExK6gwr6qD&tbnid=QdtLoUiOHLRfQM&vet=12ahUKEwiOuo-A4bbtAhXGyKQKHZQtB84QMygDegUIARCbAQ..i&docid=3X-CKCNHXxUiBM&w=400&h=225&q=stygga castle&ved=2ahUKEwiOuo-A4bbtAhXGyKQKHZQtB84QMygDegUIARCbAQ) and the location card of Scoiatael.

Why would Stygga Castle be an ST card ?
The ST do not even have the remotest connection to it in the books, except for the fact that Milva follows Geralt there and dies there.
There is no faction making less sense to have it (I would guess it would be an NR or NG card, less likely would be a Neutral card).

So ST would make sense.
(Ninjaed.)

Edit: Assuming that is the connection (each witcher school's HQ location), we can also assume NR will get Kaer Seren, SK will get Haern Kaduch, and NG will get Gorthur Gvaed. MO and SY are a different story.

NG's identity is being a military superpower at first. I don't mean giving them stupid point slam, but giving them something more military-related like Soldiers, Tactics, some siege machines like Hefty Helge, engineers, and so on.
Instead, we have Tibor hiding in the deck and called by some neutral witches.

I was under the assumption only the Vilgefortz stuff happened there.

I can agree with this one. Even though I am one of those voices who definitely enjoy those NG tactics that involve the opponent preemptively closing the app on phone , my second biggest favorite part of NG is (or rather would be) the heavy militaristic approach.
This however, I'm afraid, is not properly represented in their current soldier package. The units are overall OK, but their synergy is moderate, point value low (in today's Gwent standards), and most of all, their survivability is below average.
As we were discussing in another topic, I'd really like to see armor utilized a lot more and play for a lot more actual effects, mechanics for these soldiers - this faction and this archetype is the one in my eyes that should use/benefit most from it.

But then again, this is not one of the hundred "NG this and that" threads, so moving back on topic. :)

This is a very good read if you'd get some basic idea about the origins of witchers and their different "schools":
witcher.fandom.com

Order of Witchers

The Order of Witchers21 was an attempt made by kings and affiliated mages in the 10th century3 to create an order of magic-using knights who would help Nordlings get rid of enemies they hadn't otherwise been able to subjugate, enclose in reservations, or exterminate – monsters. The final outcome...

Last expansion was more spy and assimilate support, this expansion is more deck manipulation, I'm sure they'll get to more soldiers eventually. NG soldiers blend into several archetypes so it's a bit harder to pinpoint what soldier support really means. Spies, Assimilate and deck manipulation are more definable. There's also the fact that this expansion revolves around witchers not soldiers.

The problem of NG soldiers can be solved by buffing existing cards and adding a single finisher card (can be a former leader card). NG has lots of soldier cards.

When I more think about it, I would appreciate also another type of devotion: Stronger effects of cards, when your deck consists only of soldiers for instance. This might be a good approach to buff NGs soldier archetype + a soldier leader.

Narrowing down Devotion even further for another binary point increase would kill deckbuilding. This is a lazy way to force people to play the exact way you want since the "archetype" couldn't stand on it's own.
I put archetype in quotations since I disagree NG Soldiers even count as one at this point. There is no identity to it, no unique playstyle. This is what they need to work out.
Maybe if they add more units like Ard Faeinn Crossbowman that revolve around armor it could gain it's own style within the faction, no idea how you'd make this an exciting playstyle though.
It doesn't need another layer of Devotion, just more support, which I'm sure will come since we're still missing Witcher 3 Gwent cards like Renuald aep Matsen and Morteisen plus some others that would fit into the soldier category.
