Cat witcher is the bomb! Very nice card, simple and dynamic.

I like the cards but I'm starting to get the feeling that Vesemir boosting entire decks will get out of hand very quickly. You can consistently play him 2-3 times with cards like Decoy or Assire and then Oneiromancy. These new witchers do not seem balanced with this in mind (not that I think they should be).
It will be interesting to see. I think Vesemir might end up having to be changed or at least nerfed but I could be mistaken.

Ohh, come on, can NG get some points? Another low tempo weak bronze. This is so annoying.

ST dude seems strong.

Interesting concept, but I don't see it benefitting from the extra thrive at all unless it's in a mirror match. Veil on a thrive unit is nice though. Great target for Caranthir, but I doubt anyone will use Caranthir on this rather than phantom, the beast, or any of the gold combos.

Exactly, my 1st thought was this card was OP, with thrive working from both sides, but that just means it will get to its max quicker, and it wont get much benefit from opponent thrive as long as its not vs another MO big units deck.

I guess it can play in some swarm. While you go wide, an opp helps you go high. :smart:

Another thought came to mind. This would be a perfect seize/copy target for NG. They'd get 3-4 copies of it and watch you do all the thrive work for them.

That's why classic thrive decks will never play it. It's just better to take that 4 provs nekker instead. :)

OMG, another Thrive card with no synergies, no condition, no skill, no risk. . . . .
MO is the easiest faction to play, it needs more skill-based mechanics, not just another brain-dead pointslam card.

On what planet won't NG's Dutchess spam this card? or seize, play from your graveyard.... you'll be playing catchup for the entirety of the match. No MO player will want to use this because it's almost an auto loss against NG. Just more brain dead thrive...how creative. I think even MO players are tired of playing the same game over and over again. Why aren't beasts a focus this expansion, seems like it would make more sense considering the theme of the expansion. And they'd have some varied mechanics at least or something new

From my point of view, the weakest revealed WotW Card untill now. When you think about thrive strategy 5-p cards Endrega Larva is by far the strongest and can easily by used by almost all MO strategies as an opener.

When you focus on thrive (Fruits of Ysgith, Force of Nature), you usuallly play cards from the lowest to highest (1) Nekker (4p), Endrega Larvaes (5p) , (2) Drowner (5p), Penitent (7p), (3) Wyvern (5P), Bruxa (4p), (4) Nekker warrior (4p), Phocca (5p), (5) Alpha Werewolf (6p)

Of course, you need place in your deck, for many tall units consume-deploy units as well to trigger thrive later.

Phocca´s most obvious counterpart is Nekker Warrior. You pay one provision more for one armour and very limited upside. Why is the upside limited?
1) As already mentioned when a opponent unit triggers your thrive it is less likely that you can trigger it again
2) When your opponent by accident also plays thrive he might have many of those units having value for Phocca in his hand. Nevertheless, if he does not play thrive by far most of the cards do have a body between 4 and 5. If your opponent plays a bit around it is unlikely that he will trigger your thrive
before you triggered your thrive and boosted Phocca to 5.

Furthermore, the Ogroid tag does not have any value currently. Maybe this will happen and make the card more competitive.

What I would appreciate is body 3 (or even 2 with 2 armour) and same ability but only for 4 provisions. Then the passiive ability might make more sense.

The developers must really hate Nilfgaard. The new cards have the same issues most NG cards have; low tempo.

I cannot imagine a scenario, where, without additional support for it, Phooca would find a place in any serious MO deck, unless it was specifically to counter a meta with very tall units and even then I think it would be a stretch to say it would be good.

Guess we'll have to wait for more Monster Card reveals to see if this is any good apart from the amazing Card Art.

I guess if they would introduce some damage a allied Unit Card (like the Skellige ones) for monsters this Card could be really strong, but I hope that Thrive from both players isn't the overall direction they are heading at for Monsters with this expansion, because right now I'm already afraid that they will also add a Nekker/Larva Version with Thrive working like that:eek:.

Giant Nekker trying to tear off a dead Redanian soldier's head... Poor solider. :(
Also why is Phooca so big lol, what's his story, does he suffer from gigantism, some crazy experiment gone wrong?

Edit: Waiiit a minute. I was thinking to myself about the Cat Witcher "why do ppl say this card is so good? Doesn't look like much..." BUT THEN I REALIZED that his effect happens at the end of EVERY my turn! While the wording of the actual card doesn't quite make it clear, when I read it I just assumed that his effect happens only once, in which case it would be a pretty weak card, but if it keeps happening on every end of my turn then it's pretty damn good. They should write it so tis more clear it repeats it's effect.
