Down vote can also cause prejudice. if you read a post with some down vote, you'll subconsciously try to ignore that user's statement. I personally believe that every opinion has its own reason, provided we can see from its writer's perspective.

True mate. of course it brought my attention too. whenever I saw a post with some down votes, I said to myself: what the hell ! he/she must have really piss them off. at the same time his/her point of view became a little blurred and subconsciously I was trying to find something wrong with it. but mostly there was nothing wrong !
now without down vote, people have their freedom of speech. they can express their opinion with reason and no one can bash them from doing so by raising the hammer of anger and hatred.
