No you missing absolutely nothing. Its called social media pandering and its the essence of everything wrong with CDPR on the title. They hype-trained this game for 8 years, when it was only in development from Mid 2016 and now they doing their very best to invoke that "we love you consumers, we will make this the game you asked for".They have a forum which is entirely dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077 and they use Twitter to get information.
Am i out of touch or is something wrong here?
Given they lost a billion dollars in stock value, some pandering would be beneficial for everyone right now. I'm entirely happy if they can fix the bugs.No you missing absolutely nothing. Executives probably had a nappy rash after their investor/shareholder meeting, which is available for us to listen to by the way and some of the Senior Devs wanted to, in their own way help ease their plight.
While the sentiment is not lost on me, I too agree with you.. We have this brilliant platform but it is not truly being harnessed to its upmost potential to bring additional QA/QT from the very consumers they seek to satisfy.

They definitely watch the forums and take feedback from here. They even participate some when the forums are a bit quieter. However, they post much less frequently than they used to prior to the Witcher 3 release. Here is an explanation as to why from one developer approximately five years ago. EDIT: He obviously isn't speaking for anyone other than himself, but I think it is a reasonable explanation.
[...]- NO In my view the devs did not lie. There was no false advertisement .
- the rants about " missing features , 'the game we were promised" and 'false advertisings " did not take into account everything we saw and herd was not the finished product but part of the open development cycle .
- they shared an opened development process. They may have had 100 Ideas over 4 years of development if only 40 made it into the game. That was the finished game.
The open development cycle personally I think that was the absolute worst choice ever made in gaming as this was guaranteed to happen.
- I have seen posts on here where some last gen console users have enjoyed the game. That seem to be as forgotten as the some PC users dismissing every single post that says the game is running flawlessly on various hardwear /softwear configurations. and still insisting that it is the "software " that is broken not the fact its incompatible with their personal systems as a whole for some unknown reason.
In the end it last gen may have failed and being removed by Sony ( Micorsoft has not removed it interesting isnt it ?) but you could also interpret the comment as "Cyberpunk 2077 runs surprisingly well” on last gen console considering how old and outdated the system is and was never meant to run this game.
See how anything can have a different meaning. People choose to interpret what they see and read.
- if people choose to believe everything in the the various content shared up to release was "in the game" that's on them not the company.
- yet anyone that stands up and points this outs gets personally attacked and deemed as a " white knight" or "dev defender" or "Shill" which means they not capable of having an opinion that differs from they way dissatisfied people see things and have no mind of their own.

That wasn't the finished product though they were sharing the journey with the public so if they had 100 ideas for features during development doesn't mean all hundred will be in final product. when your developing something things can be cut all the way up to gold . That's part of development not a scam or false advertising.
If in my opinion if someone is going worry about the final product they should not preorder or even buy on day 1 they should wait till about 5 days later and read all the first impression reviews , social media impressions and game play videos and then decide if they buy it.
If they choose not to and are unhappy my opinion is that is not on the company but on the consumer .
Absolutely false. They released an announcement trailer for Cyberpunk back in 2012 and then it was complete silence as they worked on the Witcher 3. The first thing gamers even had an inkling that the game was still even being worked on was the infamous beep tweet back in 2018.No you missing absolutely nothing. I also wouldn't MIND if they catered to the whims of us fanboys.

I love CDPR but the fact that they only used PC review copies and forbid the use of personal footage smacks of ass covering.View attachment 11138162
Just a screenshot, nothing else has to be added to that comment of yours.
I wont even get started on your other points.
19 Oct 2012 Title RevealAbsolutely false. They released an announcement trailer for Cyberpunk back in 2012 and then it was complete silence as they worked on the Witcher 3. People are forgetting that twitter is for their personal social media accounts. Thousands of people can see their tweets and reply to them. I've also been seeing enough criticism there as well. They know what people think about the game.
Easy,19 Oct 2012 Title Reveal
10 Jan 2013 Trailer Drop
17 Jan 2013 Mike Pondsmith CP2077 reveal
Thereafter yes, the beep tweet and the subsequent hype commenced but I don't know how you can't call that building a hype train.
The hype skyrocketed when Keanu Reaves went on stage.Easy,
It's years of absolute silence. You can't hype silence. I was around for all of that time, I've had people, friends even, concerned that this game was cancelled because there wasn't anything. That's why the beep tweet set people off.
I would say E3 2018, but yeah, the hype definitely went up with Keanu as well. The hype skyrocketed when Keanu Reaves went on stage.
to me it absolutely feels like it was made by the same studio. the game is basically the witcher 3 with guns.My feedback is simple:
"From the creators of the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt"
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't feel at all it was made from the same studio or creators.
The immersion and RPG elements in this game is in a horrible state.
Fix the bugs, release the "complete game" via free DLCs and give us new stories on Paid DLC.
Give us the full experience in the Single Player and naturally we all will consume your Multiplayer after.
Don't turn yourselves into a new Bioware
Not in the slightest.to me it absolutely feels like it was made by the same studio. the game is basically the witcher 3 with guns.
Sure, I can respect your opinion on that.. my point regarding the hypetrain is creating distorted perceptions due to marketing techniques has no place in selling any consumed product.Easy,

Yes, one of the biggest mistakes imho was implementing the same Point of Interest system utilized in the Witcher 3. They should have take a far greater emphasis on using the fixers or utilizing your cyberware or vehicles to tune in to the NCPD incident stuff. Hell even visiting a local NCPD precinct for the criminal behavior.to me it absolutely feels like it was made by the same studio. the game is basically the witcher 3 with guns.
That's fine. I was commenting that you said there was a hype train that lasted the entire 8 years from when the game was first announced to release. That is undeniably false. The hype train started in 2018. Your point still stands though. It is also undeniable that CDPR/marketing said a lot of things that was not representative of the final product. I can forgive it for the 2018 48 minute gameplay video, I cannot forgive it for everything that they said in 2019 onward. They knew what the game was by then and what they were saying was not the reality of the game.Sure, I can respect your opinion on that.. my point regarding the hypetrain is creating distorted perceptions due to marketing techniques has no place in selling any consumed product.
