Weak AI during the combat

I think the opponents are stupid during the combat and they do nothing zero a challenge. I remember that in Half Life 1 and FEAR 1 the opponents had quite demanding AI for their time. The combat with the commandos was a bit of a challenge at least .in cyberpunk there is no challenge in the fight. sorry for bad english

Yeah it would be nice if they could flank you and work together like in fear/hl

I think the Division ai is miles above to this crap and both games share the same open world city design. I would have expect that this kind of ai is not that difficult to achieve at least to a functional degree. Whatever, the damage is done now

Please, tell me it's actually possible for them to overhaul the AI woth their future mega patches

The AI is utter garbage. Enemies barely do anything. Most of them run around like idiots. Many will just find something to hide behind and sit there for ages, doing nothing.

I doubt it. That would require a MASSIVE overhaul of the engine.

I disagree, I play on very hard and I get one shot by the AI. The challenge for me is to hide well and shoot well. They are kind of OP in the way they're spotting you, but that makes it more fun for me.

I have no issues with the AI during combat.

But that's NOT good AI. All they do is have boosted stats and magically know where you are (when they shouldn't) if you're in combat. That's garbage. Games have been doing vastly better AI for decades now.

Hell, look all the way back to the original Half-Life. Where soldier AI was simple but effective. They'd cover each other, move from cover to cover, lay down suppressing fire, and toss grenades to force you to break cover. Nothing amazing, but it was good. And many games have vastly improved on that, some games having AI that will actively try to outflank you, use distractions, etc.

Meanwhile Cyberpunk's AI mostly just stands around shooting from the open or will stick itself to cover and sit there wasting time and accomplishing nothing. It's pathetic.

And with hacking the fights are even less of a challange.

Yeah, I always suspected that was going to be the case. CDPR is way too inexperienced of a developer to take on what essentially sounded like the most ambitious AAA game ever this side of Star Citizen.

I am pretty sure they will fix it otherwise how they are going to do the multiplayer game where combat is the core component.
Anyway we will see.

Giving the AI the ability to flank, work together, properly use flashbangs, potentially even use the reboot optics hack, or even just properly use cover when getting attacked.

All of these things would certainly increase the combat difficulty, as opposed to "simply" making the enemies more bullet resistant.
E.g Giving the enemies better tactical options at harder difficulties. as well as a bit more health.

Well, not so much
They just need to make them take cover, and better up their dodging performance and the gamenwould be waaaay better
About the police, there may be more work to do, but I hope this is one of their main objectives in the upcoming mega patches.

Anyway, the best we can do is to keep telling our opinions and ideas and hoping they listen to our complaints.
They have all the time in the world, and, hopefully, they still got our trust. Mine, at least.

The AI is weak all around! They aren't dynamic at all! I never got this feeling with the Witcher 3, so I have no clue what the hell CDPR did with all their previous code base but if feels like this game was built from the ground up because the AI is so backwards it feels like this game was developed before the Witcher 1

but the Witcher 3 ai is surely simpler that the one in CP2077. They all would do is aggro and attack, with melee or ranged or de-aggro if you run too far away. As far I can remember to be honest.

Here for instance there is sneaking detection, searching for the player, going/exiting cover, use of different type of weapons and gadgets, pathing logic seems it is more complex due to bigger multilevel open areas (since this is a shooter now) . I think you are underestimating the ai requirements this game has.

I hate that I can pretty easily down people stealthily with hacks before they're alert, but if one guy one end of the building doesn't fall the second before he spots me the whole building is alerted regardless of what he actually does to draw attention.

I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and nothing really challenges me, especially since I have 125+ health items
