Weird Shut Down

Hey, I just upgraded my GPU to a Radeon HD 7970 Vapor-X, and I can run everything on ultra now. However, I'm having the strangest issue. Only during a fight do I get this issue, and it just started today. I get what looks like grey plasma on my screen, followed by a lot of solid grey circles, and then my pc shuts down. I'll attach a screenshot of my issue. If you note my GPU activity if 96% in pause. To the right of resume game is what looks like an in-game effect, the gray plasma, but it pops up into my game while fighting. I thought it was an overheat issue, but I'm sure it isn't now. I'm not sure if it could be AMD drivers, my PSU, or a faulty GPU. I can return it within the next week. Any ideas?

It's an FCR2 effect that at least overheats my GPU's and causes other GPU related troubles.

Oh so it's a mod issue? How do I fix it? After a few seconds of the plasma effect, I get an infinite loop of grey circles and then my pc shuts down. Just tried getting a screenshot of it, but pc shut down is unavoidable.

There is no fix yet. at the moment we can only wait for a mod update that fixes this or disable the mod.

It might be possible to extract the files and just disable the corresponding abilities... However I didn't have time yet to play with those files.

It could be the vrm temps. You can monitor them with gpu-z or hwinfo (provided your card supports it). You could try to lower the core and memory clockspeeds or increase the core voltage a little with msi afterburner provided your card has unlocked voltage control. If the vrm temps are too high you should lower the voltage a little.

It could also be your power supply so what is the exact model you have?

I've been using FCR2 this entire playthrough, but never ran into this visual effect. What exactly triggers it?

I'll try the voltage control while waiting for mod fixes.

I think its triggered with the dark mode armors, but I can't see in the screenshot if he is wearing a dark armor(oathbreakers, kingslayer,can't remember the other) but I have only seen this with the Full combat rebalance mod when you have full adrenaline, but it doesn't looks like any kind of hardware problem.
Its shutting down because the effect is very GPU intensive and perhaps your pc shuts it down to prevent overheating.

Adrenaline generation, when you have the last two abilities from a skill tree. Even then it takes long until it happens the first time.

The update for the mod isn't too far away.
