Dia duit, new to the forums so I thought I'd pop in and say hi, look forward to posting and I'm so so stoked for The Witcher 2, in dire need of a cinematic RPG.

Hi, Cú Chulainn, and welcome to the forum. The Witcher 2 is an amazing game, and I hope you have a blast playing it. (The Witcher 1 was an excellent game, too, though you'd have to play that on a PC, since there's no XBox version.)

You're wrong. You didn't pay attention to my original post. I said he loves Deus Ex and Mass Effect. Those are RPGs. Yeah, I know some RPG elitists claim otherwise, but I don't care. Deus Ex and Mass Effect are RPGs and he loves them.


I managed to convince my brother to give The Witcher 2 a second chance. He sees how hyped I am over the fact that in 3 weeks I can finally play this awesome game on my Xbox360. Now he's curious what the fuzz is all about. He just recently finished Mass Effect 3, he didn't like the story and he hated the ending(s). So now he wants a game with a good story. I literally shoved my Witcher 2 DVD in his PC and told him that if he wanted to forget about Mass Effect 3's crappy ending, he should play The Witcher 2. He's playing through the prologue again right now as we speak. We'll see how long he continues playing...

You might want to have him wait for the free downloadable EE patch for TW2. I think you even SHOULD make him wait for it before completing. This will make him percieve the game as a true 10/10.

Thanks for the welcome, really looking forward to the Witcher 2 after been disappointed by Mass Effect 3, don't get me wrong, I loved it during my first playthrough, except you know what, but the game as zero re-playability, the auto-dialogue is rampant all of your Shepards feel the same.

At least going into the Witcher 2 I know Geralt is a pre-defined character, a cinematic action-RPG which actually has a degree of choice and consequences!? Colour me hyped!

Bioware is in STEEP decline. A disgrace of a developer nowadays. Their games are getting increasingly worse and are targerted at the FLASHY BANG audience. They have completely abandoned their RPG roots and core audience. I hate Bioware, and i hope they go out of business and die. Bioware are an absolute disgrace to gaming now. They sold their souls to EA and are now desperately trying to get the 'COD' audience. (For the record i play COD for its online multiplayer, i am not a COD hater. But to make RPG games more focused on action and the 'COD' experience is completely out of place and a slap in the face to RPG fans.) Bioware will get what is coming to them the money grabbing day 1 DLC using nobheads. BIOWARE'S DECLINE HAS BEGUN! The Witcher 2 DESTROYS DA2!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't. I have The Witcher 1 on Steam and I'm not going to let him play on my Steam account.


Also, I think he would hate the combat in TW1. Even I didn't really like TW1's combat. I'm glad to see TW2 has much better combat mechanics.

I appreciate your passion.
But I think the BioWare hatred should be directed to their appropiate thread (there are plenty of those in the community section). This one is for X-Box players to present themselves and state their expectations...

Besides, we've been over this a hundred times already in these forums. Personally, if you're not gonna bring some new perspective on the subject, I think that dead horse doesn't need more beatings.
And you risk the mods losing their patience...

I can see the soup in the picture and I wonder if Demavend's head was in there a while before. Plus, this is the Witcher's brutal and gritty world, we shall welcome them with steel & fire and see what they're made of. The beer comes after that

You will be surprised on how great of a character Geralt is, and how he is surrounded by even greater characters. You will be saying the term 'Badass' to so many people it becomes to be a common word for you (or something).

All I can say to XBox players is: Playing The Witcher 2 is like going backwards in time, the good way

Mass Effect is, IMHO, even worse than that.

Deus Ex shouldn't be treated as an RPG alone, because it would look very, very bad. It is a good hybrid action game

Is there a reason to be excited? YES! Finally, something resembling an RPG is available on X-Box!

PS: The Witcher 2 more than "resembles" that, but I thought it sounded funny

No offense, but I don't see how The Witcher is MORE an RPG than say Dragon Age or Mass Effect.


Sure, one can argue that The Witcher is a BETTER RPG than DA or ME, but how exactly is The Witcher MORE an RPG? Just because Dragon Age 2 sucked and Mass Effect 3 had a horrible story doesn't make them any less RPG (than The Witcher).
