Welcome! My advise: read the books, play the first two Witcher games, then play TW3.

Welcome! If you like fantasy, I'm sure you'll find a lot to love in TW3. Just be sure you catch up on the lore before diving in. The game assumes you're familiar with the prior 2 titles, and all the games are based on an entire series of novels. It's possible to just pick it up and play , but much of the dramatic action will be lost without the backstory, not to mention many small but powerful details.
