Wait, in the printer? Sounds like you were lucky that no one had used it.

It was on the tray bit outside the printer but underneath a stack of paper. And it's my personal printer so I'd have been surprised if someone used it. Especially since I forgot to bring the cable that lets me use it

I have a question that is actually on topic in The Hairy Bear. I need suggestions especially from the Polish members on this one.

My daughter went booze shopping on Black Friday and got me a bottle of Żubrówka (the real thing from Polmos Białystok). I have it standing in the freezer while I figure out ways to drink it.

Ice-cold and neat goes down really well. Even the Lasagna Queen, who doesn't much like vodka, agreed that was good.

Mixed with apple juice didn't work as well. The apple juice overpowered it. Might as well be drinking cheap Monopolowa.

So, any other suggestions: mixers, snacks, things that go well with this rare and wonderful (well, here it's rare) vodka?

I don't think I can ever go back to drinking vodka without chasing it with pickles.

@sidspyker: I quadruple posted all over Bloth's den, please fix it. It's so, so moist.

@Guy N'wah As a Romanian, mixing vodka with anything is committing heresy. Here you drink it neat, in a shot glass, down the gullet in one go. If you leave even a drop in the glass you are considered a grade A pussy. Guessing this is the case in most Eastern European countries.

As for what goes well with vodka, I usually enjoy greasy foods. A piece of slănină on bread with some onion is the traditional way to go, although I like ham as well.

@Kinley Ugh, I have bad history with slanina... Don't think I'll ever eat it.

I hate vodka so much, and the idea of drinking it neat is horrifying T_T It tastes so disgusting, the only way I can drink it is if I mix it with red bull or coke... so that's my suggestion!!

Lol but then since I went to Japan I've stopped drinking mainly. The only time I do drink is when I have cider, and even then I'd normally pick a mocha latte instead. Coffee makes me feel better than alcohol.

Sidspyker departed to Kyrat for some time. And I mean, literally to Kyrat.

Nobody enjoys the taste of vodka, that's not the point of it.
Also mixing redbull and vodka in bigger quantities - enjoy your heart attack :D

I drink things for the taste! Getting drunk is nice but it's more pleasant to do when what you're drinking isn't disgusting...
Lol, I'd pass out before I could drink enough vodka and red bull to give myself a heart attack. I am a very small girl, I can't take much alcohol.

Personally, I find that beer is the way to go, but I know plenty of people that love strong alcohol.

I'm a friend of anything and everything alcoholic. The only thing that truly matters is the company.

I couldn't agree more.
Although @VilainCaca recently has made me more fond of wine too ~

Beer and wine remain the exception for me though, I mostly drink coffee and water.
And the tears of forum moderators.

Did that, re-entered birth date...access denied again...

Realised that it uses the wrong-way round date system (mm/dd/yyyy)... and rather than say error (as there aren't 30 months...) it just says denied :p

D'oh! Thanks for your help Guy

The only "strong" alcoholic beverage I´ve ever enjoyed drinking is tequila, and only in small doses. I enjoy a good beer much more, as well. I also like some wines, but only those which tend to be kinda sweet.

The thing with those strong drinks as vodka, gin, etc, is that only very good brands are bearable (at least for me), while poor quality brands are absolutely undrinkable. Poor quality beer may be meh, but it can be drunk and almost enjoyed if it´s very cold and you´re very thirsty.

Have you tried warming it up instead, maybe some cinnamon & gloves to go with that apple? At risk of cross cultural blasphemy, one of my favourite things to do whenever I get my hands on the rare aul' stuff is to Sloe it down a little, at least some of it... hard to describe the effect it has on the local nectar, and I can't predict what it'd do to Żubrówka, but it takes away any harshness going down at room temp, with an added, rather unusual, bitter fruit taste... really quite appropriate.
