Oh I feel so sorry. If only there would be something you could do to avoid getting a hangover...

Did you eat before and during drinking? And kept yourself hydrated enough?

Usually, when I know I'm up for some heavy drinking with some heavyweight vodka contenders, I start with this:

or this:

and try not to forget to drink water in between shots/drinks. Works wonders.

I had a decent meal and plenty to drink before I started drinking and after, once I got home. Unfortunately I am someone who gets headaches very easily (I had to go see a doctor about this because at one point I was getting 3 bad headaches a week) so even if I am hydrated and have eaten enough I still get bad hangovers. @__@ It has reminded me why I don't drink often anymore.

Maybe I should try sacrificing the impudent members of the forum to a pagan god and see if that works.

exams, stress, eyestrain, followed by sudden disconnection and alcohol ...

Maybe you ask your brain for a bit of overexertion, don't you?

Yep two ways to avoid hangovers

1 Drink more often. Especially instead of the sudden all in.
2 The best way to avoid a hangover according to my grand-pa however is to never stop drinking :p

That was the reason I pretty much stopped. I started the hangover while I was still out drinking, terrible headaches. It could also be caused by WHAT you drink - red wine was a killer for me.

Maybe I should try sacrificing the impudent members of the forum to a pagan god and see if that works.

All the excuses. Well at least it gives me the chance to use the German proverb: "Wer den Schaden hat, braucht für den Spott nicht zu sorgen." Meaning that the Person that has misfortune or harm got upon himself, does not need to do anything to bring mockery upon himself, cause other people will. (Apparently the English equivalent is: The laugh is always on the loser.) Or my personal favourite word play with that sentence: "Wer den Schaden hat, spottet jeder Beschreibung." "The one the has the misfortune/harm, defies description."

Now I am ready to be sacrificed to you "spirits". :D

Like gregski said drink plenty of water and eat a substantial meal BEFORE drinking.

Also consider possible food allergies. Maybe there's something you shouldn't drink? For instance my wife is a celiac and she will get an almost instant headache with beer, followed by body pain the next day.

Yep certain types of booze are worse then others ad they differ from person to person.

A single glass of Prosecco or white wine, and I'll be down with a migraine for 3 days.
One or two glasses of Absinthe and... damn if I know... I can never remember what happens between the first sip and the morning after that.
Serious amounts of Whiskey, vodka, beer and maybe all of that in a single evening without decent food... Not really a problem.

The REDpoint Queen returns!

Looking forward to seeing your creative nature take hold of all the new stuff. And more phrases that come off as innuendos that will make Reptile have to try really hard not to say anything. ^_^
