That's a good saying indeed haha.
No problems then, italian version of Storm of Swords has 1200 pages, and it's always a weight issue when I put it in my bag, so I'm kinda used to it.
1200?? That's a lot...We have 900, or less - when you don't count maps and houses :)

When I was in Ireland for 2 months, I found all the books in one collectors's box, with a map of Westeros in it, and it cost only 35EUR.. problem was they're so heavy I couldn't have brought it home in my bag on the airplane..

I just checked, the German translation is already at 10 books... They apparently cut up the books into even more books even then they're like 600-800 pages a piece...

I will still wait till that book series is finished writing and then just take an e-book. a lot less weight...

For those interested, Katerina Plotnikova, Russian photographer. She made a road trip across Russia "relying on the kindness of strangers" and took many shots with wild animals as subjects.

How did she get the wolves to cooperate, I'd like to know. Are Russian wolves just more comfortable around humans? Canadian wolves do -not- stick around. Not the ones I've dealt with. Maybe if you invested Farley Mowat scale time in them or something...

Airport staff could have charged you with illegal possession of weapons. :teeth:

Oh it happened in Italy too, there are 12 books, after the tv series the same publisher started to make two new editions with the same original format... one in paperback and the other dragon skin-like hardcover, so we have 3 editions. Publisher shits gold with this series as Tywin Lannister does.

True, they're so thick - or comprehensive :D - they're practically bricks that you can use as weapons.. like the phone books in some old movies lol.

Hahaha, nice. This dragon skin edition sounds nice, but I bet it's more expensive because of that. And poor Tywin "in the end, did not shit gold" lol, such a way to finish a chapter.

Yes, I forgot the LIKE from it :D Sure they won't kill a dragon for it, duh. lol
Wait.. what about dragonbirds? Are they protected too? :p

Yes, with teeth and claws and flamethrowers. Just like the others. Dragons are all VERY well protected, thank you.
So beware - if someone tries to sell you a dragon-skin anything, they're probably trying to scam you. Unless there's still a dragon inside it.

This was your Public Service Announcement for the day.

Yeah I'll be careful with these from now on! :D

Russians have a lot of experience training wolves. It's difficult but not impossible; one ethologist I remember described them as "too damned submissive" (that is, it's hard to get an animal to do something when what it wants to do is cringe).

When books save life... literally... lol.
Yes it is more expensive, thepaperback edition is like 16 EUR, while the dragon edition is 22 EUR. These are the new editions, respectively 2nd book and 3rd book:

Now that's why the price is not so high as I expected... :hmmm:
