That's just from an outsider's perspective. Believe me, festivities with a typical hearty and substantial German meal for lunch (i.e. tons of meat), followed by dessert and only about 1-2 hours later Kaffee und Kuchen with THIS kind of creamy deliciousness - TORMENT* I TELL YOU!

*but arguably the best kind of torment in the world.**

Indeed, here is a little taste of what your next day's trip to the bathroom would look like.

Worth it.

Regarding cake and Christmas, I'm not usually much of a fan of cake, but last Christmas I bought some locally-made fruitcake. I really didn't know it was possible to inject that much alcohol into cake - it was wonderful.

(And regarding political discussions, what gregski and Tommy said. If CDPR say they're OK with it, no problem)

Only had it once. Tis' better to love and lost instead of never tasting at all!

@DB: One of my fellow coworkers would make what she called dried fruitcake. It wasn't the legit kind that everyone hates. But no one would even try it so I smuggled it home so she would make more and then I would repeat and eat it throughout the year. She cooked me a lot of homemade stuff.

And my last post is a prime example of why you don't get drunk and post, people.

IMHO, nothing beats a good cheesecake... God, how I love one of those!!!
Just look at that:

Regarding the political discussions, it would really be very interesting to know the opinions of those of you living close to the current hotspots (Ukraine, Venezuela, to mention a couple). But I understand the reluctance to allow such threads to be made.

Things are getting more and more tense in Crimea, we have APCs with no markings guarding the roads to Sevastopol and recently armed men with no insignia took over two Ukranian Airports. Provocation perhaps by Putin?

Anyway the Russian minority in Ukraine is rather worried, especially when the first thing the Ukranian Parliament did when it took power was rescind a low allowing more then one official language in the country, which of course caused panic among Crimeans especially.

I don't have any pity for the former president: He was a corrupt thieving bastard as all leaders are in Eastern Europe, but the current people running the country aren't different!

Moderator: Nothing has changed with respect to the forum policy on discussion of politics and religion. These discussions are not allowed due to the near certainty that they will end in inflamed tempers, warnings, and censoring even of posts made with good intentions. The forum administrators have spoken, and this decision is final.

In regard to Costin's post, discussion of current volatile political situations is not within the forum policy and will not be allowed to continue. Further discussion of any of the matters raised in Costin's post should be taken to private messages or another forum.

Sure, I will, not that CDPR gives a rat's ass about this forum besides posting some news updates. Community Managing indeed.

I think, that many people, who stay on this forum did't care about world politics, they came here to relax from all that sh*t, that they see everyday. :rebel:

Maybe this forum will suited to your requirements? There are many people who eager to debate on some politic news than here. Because CDPR's forums more about entertainment things (games, gaming industry).
And do not blame moderators of this site, they chose path of neutrality. As wisest witchers do. :)
