I tried the first Age of Wonders recently and I was very impressed! I always like the strategy and planning phase of this sort of games but dislike real time massive encounters; I like being able to plan ahead before I click and micro manage. While I can appreciate the complexity of large scale battles I like to pace myself and deliberate on my decisions.

Age of Wonders fuses a top layer of tactical movement and management similar to King's Bounty with turn based, *unit* driven combat similar to turn based RPG's. Some things I don't like about King's Bounty and similar games is battles usually take place in tiny grids and there are minimal to no positional advantages or disadvantages. It boils down to inflicting and resisting damage. Also it's easy to overpower enemies simply by having larger armies, which is kind of lame. AoW's turn based combat is very similar to traditional cRPG's like, say, Fallout, where each character has unique abilities and their own movement and attack points.

From what I saw, AoW 3 looks pretty awesome, even if I am not a long time fan of that particular genre.

But that's enough about games. This is the tavern.

Even though it's political, but satire is too good to miss it:

Darth Vader runs for Ukrainian president:

I guess the not really hidden hint here is that Palpatin is really behind him.

I'd have to ban myself if I said what I thought of Prohibition.

What great vanity to think they can stamp out what has endured for millenia, in a way I admire that stubborn self belief, course i'm saying that with cold one in hand.

Came across Poland's entry in Eurovision 2014. Very... interesting.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm? :D Seriously though, is Poland's entry trying to damage women's rights?

Hey, I was just saying that I thought that song was crap alright? Hell, our song isn't up to much either! The only reason I watch the Eurovision is to laugh at how useless the music is!

Yep, most if not all Eurovision songs are pretty bad. It's not even so bad it's funny for me though, so I just ignore the whole thing.

I have never taken it seriously. For me, it's just an annual "laugh at how pathetic it is" show!

Well, they're back, at least. Poland hadn't competed since 2011, when Lady Tullo came last. But that was just bad; this is embarrassing.

Why does it remind me of Tulip Girl?

I think it's due to the low-cut tops, and constant zooming in to the, uh, parts.

Hey, Tulip Girl took a very special place in the heart of my version of Geralt. After trying to be broody by telling Triss they shouldn't keep Vesemir waiting, Geralt was left wanting and it was Tulip Girl that ended up being his first one after the amnesia.
