Whoa let's not be throwing the "relatives moving in" phrase around that's as bad as wife or marriage. No this is temporary. The problem is that the kid with her was of a previous husband, the dog, well that was a complete fucking surprise. Both cats spent last night together with me as horrified as they were and they don't do that. This morning I wake up and their patrolling the house.

As for her I was up nearly all night listening to boo hoos until enough was enough.

@StaGiors: I think I'll have a morning metre. Both the dog and woman. And kid.

Going to pass on the pickled egg. I'll take the metre, yard, mile, kilometer whatever.

Cousin had fight with the husband and comes here since I'm closest to her place. Arrives with daughter and her DOG! Cats are scared to death despite their superior size(teacup yorky), and is sleeping in my bed. I should have learned to be a better asshole in life. At least I am excommunicated from the other half of the family.

Another metre.

I find with family that it's important to occassionally utter those three little words: No, fuck off!

I did exactly that, actually a lot more that I won't repeat because that would result in a super ban. But that was to the paternal side. The other side well we stick to ourselves, minus this one. Actually if it were a different one I'd not mind as much, on top of it all she talks one hundred words a minute, or for the Euros one hundred kilowords a minute. ;)

@Mataresa: It's really no big deal, I just need a vent and drink. Have fun with your trip.

Shit, where'd my wallet go?

We're not that fast. One kiloword per centisecond. You really haven't got the hang of metrication yet, have you?
Have another metre of ale. It'll be clearer then.

Suggesting beer to make anything clearer? Sounds wise.

In German bars, occassionally you actually can buy beer by the metre. It's 10 glasses of beer and a shot, arranged on a meter-long wooden board. Don't know if that's a thing in other countries.

The yard of beer I talked of earlier is a real thing here, well maybe some select places. Friend of mine was coming home from a trip to Tennessee and there was a pirate convention where they sold yard long glasses of beer.

Yup, they aren't everywhere, but you can definitely find them, especially around big events and some ale houses.

For those who haven't seen one before, this is a yard of beer.

What is this? That's not more beer, it's just stretched beer! Kinda defeats the point of making it a yard long if you ask me. :listen:

For reference: a Biermeter, or Metre of Beer.

Hey, if anyone here loves massive gaming gunfights, then check out Dslyecxi's channel on YouTube. Most of it is ARMA II and ARMA III but they're all incredible fights!

I like it, but I think I'd prefer a beer horn. You can find 'em just about as long, although I can't find a picture that's really suitable.

That one is a bit wimpy compared to the one in the photo I saw. Still what three maybe four beers though.

Got to admit even I struggle to down a yard in one, deceptive lot of fucking beer in there. Ten of them in a night and I wake up with me keys stuck up me arse, usually naked in a different city. Recommended.

That beer metre makes no bloody sense, you want fresh grog not flat, just get it a pint or two at a time.

One (disputed) explanation of the "yard" is that it is meant to be handed up to the coachman; probably it's one of those "just because you can" things. Former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke, a champion drinker, held the world record (since broken) for downing a 1.4-liter yard in 11 seconds. It's also very tricky to drink without getting a faceful of beer.

I like that sound of that, a head of government who likes to unwind by downing a huge glass of beer.

That Biermeter is meant to serve a whole thirsty Mannschaft at one go. Very practical. Every football team needs one.

Anyway, bartender levels:

German (Anita Schwartz, Munich; former world record holder, 16 liters)

Australian (Reinhard Wurtz, Löwenbräu Keller, Sydney; current record holder, 20 liters, that's 50 kg of beer and glass)

@Csàszàr O man, have a couple yards on me. Relatives are like pickled egg farts. Just can't clear the air, and its all in your hair and lingers like a muggy afternoon.
