It's alright. I heard a statistic last night that said the average American drinks 30 gallons of beer a year, so someone is getting sloshed on his portion and mine, but if he's drinking that much beer, I'm probably free to consume his portion of coffee. ;D

It's us Aussie nuts who drink all the beer our only peer is Germany because of Oktober Fest and May Fest to a lesser degree . Ask anyone who has anything to do with Oktober Fest in Barvaria about how problematic the Aussies and Kiwis are. The fools drink like there is no tomorrow.

I'm a dedicated coffee drinker and nothing else when it comes to hot non alcoholic drinks.

The local county fairgrounds hosts an annual Oktoberfest on Labor Day Weekend here, sponsored by Hofbrau and Budweiser. The latter runs 'weiner dog' (dachshund) races in one of the barns there during the event ( http://www.bereaoktoberfest.com/index.php )Went for the first time to it this past summer and had fun. Various cultural dance groups put on performances all day long (personally, I think the Russians were the most entertaining. The Greeks, Irish and Scots were also fun to watch. Dance groups: http://www.bereaoktoberfest.com/dancing.php ), other area groups were putting on beermaking and cooking demonstrations. ....and of course, lots of good food from a German restaurant and Polskie Delikatesy that had tents set up. Every hour or so, they'd start playing loud music and send out performers onto the upper level to put on a silly performance, do a dance, and then fling free t-shirts and frisbees and whatnot at the crowd below. Well, one of my instructors at the ATC used to ahve a cup that says "I'ts hard to be humble, when you're German"...Said he got it at the local Oktoberfest.I'd wager the guess that most Americans take every opportunity they get to drink
