It seems someone, escaped from Azkaban fortress, decided to reveal his true nature. Beware of dementors!

Did you guys see this trailer? What are people's thoughts?

Mine are:
1) So happy to hear Doug Cockle voicing Geralt again.
2) v happy to see my favourite twink Dandelion and glad that Joey Batey is voicing him because he is fab <3
3) highkey hate the inclusion of Essi who is just there to be some kind of romantic sideplot/lame love triangle for Geralt and Dandelion. Yawn. Be brave and make her gay, Netflix. I know, I know, this is taken from a short story so they're probably unwilling to change anything but :disapprove: I think her entire storyline is lame af and she deserves better and her being into Geralt wasn't even an important part of the story from what I remember.
4) Hyped for the mermaids

I saw the previous trailer a while ago on Netflix. I liked the previous anime (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf) and I like the artstyle of this one. It can be good, it can be bad, who knows... I will check it by myself for sure :)

Oh I didn't :ok:That looks interesting! Thanks for sharing! Finally I can use my TV again lol Have to dust it off again.

I've no interest in animated stuff, or Netflix.
can i ask why? Some animated shows are really well done, and the art style can also be so beautiful - like the Ghibli films are very charming and beautifully drawn. And for example Castlevania I think is a recent western example of an animated show with gorgeous art styles and excellent voice acting.

The style doesn't appeal to me. Anime in particular.
You are of course entitled to your opinion but I think even within the genre, anime encompasses a massive range of art styles and many of them are incredible pieces of art. Like the scenes from Studio Ghibli films are so stunning:

and then you have other styles that are much more dynamic and character focused and even they show clear differences in style:

I am biased because I think some of the greatest stories in existence are in the form of manga/anime, and I think you are depriving yourself of them if you write off the entire genre. For example for a long time I refused to watch or read One Piece because I didn't like the art style and thought it looked goofy, and then finally a friend persuaded me to give it a go, and now I've found I've grown to appreciate the art style for what it does bring that other art styles don't capture as well (comedy, whimsy and adventure), along with it being (imo) one of the best stories I've ever watched/read.

I do also think that anime really showcases voice acting abilities, and many voice actors would probably never be recognised without it because they don't have the right look for the character (same as video game voice acting in that sense). I've seen it with live action adaptations of anime where the actors for the live action are just not on the same level of emotion or expression as the voice actors for the animations.

Anyway that is my soapbox moment and I will not say anything more on it :ROFLMAO:

Well, Sirens of the Deep was a weak film and definitely worse than Nightmare of the Wolf. I still found it quite entertaining though, but The Witcher books deserve far better adaptations, both live action and animated.

The animation itself was pretty damm good, but as always it's the writing what makes everything crumble. Oh and the sirens' design is hideous. I don't know who thought sirens without tits was a good idea, but it sure as hell isn't :coolstory:
