What are your most expected RPGs of 2014/2015?

I'm curious which RPGs are on the top of your wishlist!

If I had to pick five games I would choose (in no order):

1) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Well, that one was obvious, wasn't it?

2) Pillars of Eternity
The spiritual successor of the Baldur's Gate saga. Do I have to explain more?!

3) Divinity: Original Sin
I've already played the beta and it's pure dope, I just couldn't stop playing. Really addictive, charmful RPG which offers quite some challenge.

4) Kingdom Come: Deliverance
The realistic medieval concept is a nice change of setting and I love the physics-based combat based on actual fighting styles.

5) Dragon Age: Inquisition
Bioware seems to have learnt from its mistakes and I hope they returned to former strength with Inquisition.

But to be honest I'm looking forward to even more RPGs. I'm such a big RPG and video game fan I will probably buy and enjoy every RPG on the list (and beyond)...

I've chosen the nine probably best known (and already announced) candidates for the voting list. If your favorite game is not on the list please vote "other game" and write in your post which game you're looking forward to in particular.

I would love to hear about your personal favorites and why you think they will be fun and entertaining.

Numenera.
Pillars of Eternity.
Age of Decadence.
Original Sin.
Wild Hunt of course.

Kingdom Come is i've heard Steam only so no shakes for me, Lords of Fallen I don't think is going to be an rpg but a hack and slash like Severance from looks of it, and Bioware couldn't find their arse if they had a map tattoo'd on their thigh, and what we've seen from 'em so far has been fucking laughable.

Divinity Original Sin, Wasteland 2, Torment - Tides of Numenera and Pillars of Eternity (since all of them will be DRM-free and available on Linux). Witcher 3 only if it comes out for Linux in 2015 (otherwise it won't be playable to me).

Risen 3 - may be, if it will be playable in Wine and released on GOG.

That's actually not set in stone yet. So far only Steam is announced, yes. But Warhorse already acknowledged that there is a demand for a non-Steam version and they've said that they will look into it.

@demut
Hm, I don't know if you could call Shadow of Mordor really an RPG. Seems more like a Batman/AC action game to me with a focus on combat and with only little character customization and dialogues and stuff. Of course you could argue that the Nemesis system is a choise&consequence system in itself but then again it's almost entirely combat driven. I would rather describe it as action game with RPG elements (but nevertheless I am looking forward to it as well).

Definitely Kingdom Come. I pulled my funding from it because of the possibility of being Steam only, but I will still buy the game.

Wild Hunt, duh.

I have the Original Wasteland in backlog and will probably get Two if I like it.

Voted TW3 and D:OS. Didn't see the "Other game" option in time, but I'd also add the new Torment to my list.

Also keeping an eye on PoE and DA:I, but I'll probably wait for those to be discounted, if the (trusted) reviews are positive.

I don't think ME4 is coming out in 2014/2015.

Looks like we have the same list then.
I'm not that excited about DA:I either, but if it turns out to be a decent game I'll give it a shot~

Reptile and Zorn agreeing on something? Why I'd never...

As for me, Wild Hunt is at the top of the list followed by any RPG that comes out in between.

The upcoming RPG I'm most anticipating is Sui Generis. So far they've been delivering on their promises (I have alpha and beta access) and if they continue to do so it will be one of the truest role-playing games ever created. The advanced AI which can react to events around them, make their own choices and has their own goals; dynamic world events that aren't all player triggered; freedom to actually make your own decisions and not just choose from a small list of pre-scripted choices; deep story and lore with lots of secrets to discover; etc.

A close second place is, of course, TW3. :)

Apart from that I'm dying to play TW3 (as everyone here :fun:), i'm more or less excited for everything that is in the list. DA:I, Risen 3 and ME4 is a big question mark though.

If I had to pick five games I would choose (in order):

1) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Aa the first option

2) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Hope to enjoy Ciri and Yen's introduction

3) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
It's the unique game I pre-ordered

4) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Well, that one was obvious, wasn't it?

And
5) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
because I just expect find the other games in my way in a casual way, by random, just a matter of fate.

I'm too lazy for going back and forth looking for them.

Till now, only Geralt deserves such a sacrifice from me.

For me they are:

1) The Witcher 3 (duh!)
2) Pillars of Eternity - After having played recently BG I & II, can´t help but being hyped for this game.
3) Kingdom Come - The setting is awesomely interesting, and the ideas behind the game sound great. We´ll see how it goes.
4) Dragon Age: Inquisition - I´m optimistic about this game. I really want to see how it turns out.

1. The one and only.
2. DA: Inquisition. Since I played in previous games, I can't miss this one.
3. Risen 3. I hope... :)

The Witcher 3 (Need I say anymore?)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance (I backed it so obviously I'm impatiently waiting for it)
Divinity: Original Sin (I'm REALLY hoping it gets off Early Access soon, the wait is killing me!)

For an Honourable mention: Torment: Tides of Numenara. The game world they've created for it looks fascinating and I want to know more.

Hey, if you’re willing to have Lord of the Fallen in your list then I don’t see why you shouldn’t allow Shadow of Mordor to be on there as well :p

Witcher 3, Dragon Age Inquisition and Lords of the Fallen for me.

Mass Effect 4 is probably going to be fucked in the ass by the incompetence of BioWare. I'm kinda keeping an eye on it but uh. They really did killed the series with those shit endings.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance looks interesting, it has potential, but I don't know. The combat is looking like shit and I don't have any experience with the developer. They may be utterly incompetent and only care about shiny graphics for all I know. And I don't give two shits about graphical fidelity. I buy games for good gameplay. Besides, they remind me a bit of Crytek. Shiny visuals but no substance. But hey, here's to hoping.

Mass Effect 4 will probably set before Mass Effect 1-3 (first contact was is rumored).

The game director of KCD was responsible for Mafia 1.

Combat looks like shit??? We must live in different universes... :p

Well lot of good press for Project Eternity, don't know whether that's a good or bad thing considering game journalist are retards. I would like to know why us who funded the game, and for whom the game is made, get to see a demo after the press. Seems a bit shitty, but ah fuck it, Obsidian makes games I like and i'd buy it anyway. Might not throw 'em so fucking much cash next time though, feel less a Watcher and more a gullible wanker.

Haha, you still call it Project Eternity? I admit that I think of the old name from time to time as well... ;)

By the way, I think the same about the press demo.
