I like the changes and the upgrades. A few of the characters have changed and they look good. The game seems to use more of the CPU and RAM which is a good thing. Graphics are smoother and not as choppy as before, load times aare greatly reduced. Their is the odd glitch but nothing to cry to mom about. Thanks again for the upgrade and the extra content. Gotta like that there was no cost to this. I thought customer service was a thing of the past. Cudus CDProjekt!

Game is crashing if you enable the EAX (Creative X-Fi) and new character voices not synchronized with character`s mouths. And also game is buggier than 1.3 patch. I hope CD Projeckt will release the 1.5 patch ASAP.

There is a temp fix for the EAX crash. I cant remember where it's at but just do a search for EAX on these forums and sort for most recent. Personally I enabled EAX but I did not really like it.

Don't get me wrong - this is a very good game - and I am glad the Enhanced Edition has been put on sale cheaply and for us previous buyers,we get the Enhanced Edition free, but I have to repeat what I have said before this patch came out, and add a bit given the EE has now appeared.....All I have heard in video after video for the EE edition is how 'this will make the game more immersive' and 'that will make the game more immersive' -and yet, the No.1 thing I wanted and others wanted and would have made the game MUCH MORE immersive than what they have done is to have allowed your character to WALK!!!!!!!It is stupid that other NPC's walk and you have to do little 'jogs' to keep up. It is stupid to have to run into doors and such because he runs too fast in rooms! It is stupid he runs while SEARCHING! It is stupid stupid stupid that he can only admire the surroundings by standing still, and finally how UNIMMERSIVE and STUPID that by only being able to run this game is always just a game, never a story to get immersed into!I took it for granted that with all this talk of 'immersion' this 'non walking' would be fixed, and am amazed it isn't!So overall, for me, because of this issue, I could only ever give The Witcher 82% in mu user reviews, and even after this Enhancement I can only give it 85%. Allow Geralt to walk and immediately the game becomes more immersive and an easy 91% from me!

Well my opinion has gone down a lot since yesterday, almost the whole screen is blurred the whole time very very annoying and also a strange load bug overall the enhanced edition is far buggier then 1.3 was.

So far, i find it way more enjoyable. It plays much faster then before on my pc. also the ctrl-click pickup items is the BEST THING EVER!Manuvering the character seems less sluggish and easier to control, so the fighting is much funner(yes funner). Also the inventory system kicks azz.I am playing on hard now, and the way the ingredients organize is the best, if you need to use lots of potions.Only at end of chapter I, but looks good to me :)

Very short loading breaks, no more crashes... just for that the EE is worth downloading/buying... when you're used to the old version it's very strange to be able to play continuously, you almost have to stop the game from time to time :pStill waiting to see ingame differences, though Vesna died, I didn't know it was possible, carelesness probably. Sex cards are censored, no nipples, not that it makes a big difference, but still nipples are nice... I'll welcome a file to download just to get them back.Played the original game in english, playing EE in french, nice job for the dialogues and the voices.

And what if you don't enable it ingame and use the Alchemy solution as I do and as can be found in this thread?I have an X-Fi too btw but I couldn't enable EAX ingame and this was a perfect alternative solution :)

Made it halfway thru Chapter 1, and so far I've got very mixed reactions to this upgrade - I'm playing the UK version. The additional NPC dialogue is wonderful and adds new dimensions to the story, however in some places the dialogue hasn't changed a bit yet the line was re-recorded anyway... I feel like in many instances (the Reverend, Harem, Mikul, Oddo, Lambert, Kalkstein, etc) the original voices captured more emotion yet the lines were abridged... now we get more comprehensive lines yet the voices are flat. Also in one place so far it looks like there's a discrepancy - in Chapter 1 of the original game when Geralt asks the Hunter how much he charges for killing a drowner, the Hunter says 80 orens and Geralt says "I knew something was wrong with these prices... I'd never work for such a pittance... etc" which accurately reflects the low economy restricted by the plague and the Flaming Rose who kill monsters for free... but now in the EE Geralt responds by saying he's never made as much as that for killing a drowner, which is the opposite of what he said in the original version. The new dialogue animations are interesting and fun to watch, but now there are some clipping issues that didn't exist in the original version (i.e. the Reverend puts his hands through his own body while talking). Obviously these are minor issues but if fixing something causes new problems I wonder if it should have been altered. Also something that has upset me is the combat finishing moves animations seem to be different - the beheading move now just kills the npc but doesn't actually behead him! I loaded an old save (made from original game) in chapter 5 and it looks like beheading works there, so I wonder if these combat moves are shut off in the EE until Geralt levels his swordskill to a certain point... I hope these animations haven't been removed from the game entirely. The Witcher is by far the deepest game I have played, it contains some very profound themes and while some of these new additions do enhance the story (i.e. the short clip between Prologue and Act 1) others detract from it (i.e. the dry, sometimes rushed voices - the Reverend used to be so much harsher! Kalkstein used to be so much funnier! Harem used to be much better without the stutter!). But regardless of what I think about the end result, it's very cool that CDProject has continued to work on this game for so long as it demonstrates a tremendous love for their work and such passion is very much a rarity these days.

I am pretty sure this is my very first post. in which case i apologise because its a moan.Let me get something out of the way before i start. I like The Witcher very much, i followed it for about 2 years before release, i read ' The Last Wish' and bought the game on release a year ago. I started playing the game and found it captured the atmosphere and feel of the books. I was impressed.I wasnt impressed with how buggy and unstable it was. I was also driven almost insane by some frankly ridiculous what i can only call ' oversights ' by the developers. At times i was left wondering if they had played thier own game at all. The enhanced edition was announced and The Witcher was saved from my dusty ' shelf of games that make my cry for all the wrong reasons '. I decided to wait the 6-12 months... CD Projekt have made note and are sorting this sucker out- all those rough edges gone.I am around 8 hours into the witcher and the 2 biggest irritants of the last time are still there;1; Vesna Hood. She is being bullied at night by a gang of thugs, about 10-20 feet down the road is a Ghoul... i can see it as i approach the group... its just out of range though so i put it out of my mind. Anyways a fight ensues as i strive to protect the ladys honor and in the middle of it the Ghoul inevitably gets alerted and joins in.... upon killing the last Thug the game goes into cut-scene mode and Vesna thanks me and asks me to help her get home.... the Ghoul just hangs back until she is finished obviously. The game begins again and i dispatch the Ghoul. Ok not so bad, a little jarring but these things happen, welcome to the world of video-games where multiple strings of events often can and do overlap sometimes to the benefit of the experience.... sometimes not. I decided to let the Ghoul thing go.... a little silly just putting a random monster next to a scripted event... *guarenteed immersion breaker* seems to me that the Ghoul could have been moved 10-20 more feet away and just been encountered on the way back to Vesnas place as apose to interfering with play. But again.... sounds like nitpicking.... i let it go... even though that was in the original and one of the few little ' bugs ' i was expecting to be changed.I am playing the game on hard mode (wanting the complete witcher experience) as i did last time. So actually getting Vesna home is frustrating to say the least... especially when halfway through a mass Barghest attack the game goes into conversation mode again... Vesna screams about the monsters... Geralt says not to worry they have gone now....as said ghost dogs continue to attack me... i scramble to end the conversation and defend her as she insists on drawing thier attention by stabbing like a useless gibbon, she goes down faster than a Vizima ******. Not fun. *sigh*2 ; The Hellhound.... this has to be the biggest WTF bit of the game so far. I remember there being posts about this on the forums way back in the beginning..... NOTHING has changed.... The hellhound is overly difficult and every time i fail i have to wade through the same conversation choices and cut scenes again and agin destroying all emotional impact that the events through thier momentum had managed to build. Over and over again i damn the villages and get Abigail out... the Hellhound shows up she dies... i die, back again..... how on earth could that be considered well paced? no autosave after that particular story thread concludes? I dont want to see it again i made my choices i thought about them then and i moved on.... your making me go over them again and agin...turning them into rapid clickathons as i strive to beat the ill judged difficulty spike that is the Hellhound.Just to be clear i am well prepared for the hound. Spector Oil Tawny owl all applied but still a struggle... its on hard mode you say? its meant to be difficult... ok fine i dont mind having to have a few pops at this hellhound (although i think its just a case of luck more than anything else... its almost impossible to keep someone alive on hard mode) but should i have to watch the same conversation over and over agin? no checkpoint at all before what i think is a ridiculous upward thrust in difficulty. Boggles my mind. And there we have it. I like The Witcher very much and i will struggle through but the above 2 events dont bode well for the rest of the games pacing.I really dont like to complain and i very rarely post anything but i needed to rant about this. I refuse to go back and start again on Medium because a games pacing is broken... especially in an Enhanced edition of said game.Other than the above great job, reworked voices are excellent and the changes to the alchemy set-up are appreciated.

So I'm actually kind of upset with this upgrade. Not because it's bad. The new inventory, character animations, and voice overs are amazing and several times better than the original. The first version of The Witcher felt like a game developed by an underdog company in some poor European country (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. much?). The prologue to EE makes it feel like a legitimate professional work. However, my major issue is that EE is extremely unstable on my laptop. I played through to the beginning of the 3rd chapter in the original version with only one major instability issue (the start of chapter 2) and now I can't even get through the beginning of chapter 1. It's not even a particular point in the game, it's just crashing randomly. I got an infinite load screen for the chapter intro, a crash while saving the dwarf (forgot his name), a crash while running towards the village, and yet another crash while fighting a ghoul. It's extremely frustrating and now I'm playing the game with my finger on the F5 button constantly. The oddest part is that not each crash produces an error window ("The Witcher has stopped working blah blah blah"), sometimes it just poofs and I'm sitting at the desktop going "wtf?" In other words, EE so far has been like a failed orgasm. It gets me really excited and it's amazing and I'm really into it and then BAM denied.

Bravo, ladies and gentlemen, bravo!I had finished the game about 1 1/2 months ago and I put off playing it any more until Enhanced came out. I downloaded everything between Friday and Saturday, and to be sure everything went smoothly, I uninstalled the game and re-installed from scratch with the enhanced edition patches.I tore through Chapter 1 yesterday. What a huge improvement on the U.S. dialog!I'm sooooooooo glad to see those terrible voice-overs for Leo in the original game are GONE. It's nice to see that he doesn't sound like a naive 10-year-old anymore. The conversations actually make some sense now. Not that they didn't before, but the flow of the dialog feels more natural now. This patch, as a whole, is a huge improvement so far just based on voice-over corrections/improvements.The new inventory system is much easier to manage, I like how ingredients for potions now have their own seperate area in your inventory and you can auto-arrange them as needed.I like the fact that Geralt can now sheathe his sword while running, as opposed to interrupting movement like it did before. I also like the fact that if I click on an enemy, Geralt will pull the sword out AND attack based on that first initial click; in the past, you had to click once on the enemy to get him to pull the sword out, then follow up with another click to attack. Combing those two actions together in the initial click makes much more sense. It's not that it was a major inconvenience or anything, but like I say, it just makes more sense. The game also seems to be performing more smoothly as well; I did just upgrade my video card recently, (7950 GX2 to GTX 260 OC), so I know this is the major reason, but I was playing the game for a little before with the 1.3 patch, and I can swear that the game is performing a bit better now. This game is awesome, was before, and as far as I can tell so far, you've made it even better.Keep up the good work, hope to see more of The Witcher soon!

The first version was really awesome (scenario, dialogs, graphic models...) but was edited with incredible problems of crashes and download time. The new version has resolved these issues. Great. But I always thought that NPC's were too similar, bringing a kind of tiredness. The enhanced edition didn't change anything on this. We meet always the same "fat merchant", the same bandit, the same elves. A bit frustrating. So I've a reserved reaction. But I keep in mind the original game was very good.
