I dont see what yellow tint you guys talk about, look during what time of the day those screens where taken...

the more "late" it is, the more color the sun imposes over things, like real life. Mornings usually look much whiter and pale, and let you see the thing's more "original" colors, but as the time of day passes it gets more yellow and then eventually orange and then red, purple and almost blue into the night.

And btw, I really like the comparisons that site made, it really shows how the game wasnt downgraded, just some things got screwed up, but the rest looks equal and many things look way better.

"We ended up not using Global Illumination, light bouncing and reflecting…
... So to add more detail to the lighting, the whole world is covered in “lighting and reflection” probes, that analyse the surrounding area and light it accordingly. It does a pretty good job."
Jose Teixeira http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/05/08/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-artist-talks-about-weather-lighting-consoles-graphics-and-much-more/

I think this could be the reason for different lightning in newer builds.
Edit: we really don't know if those effects were ever in the game we saw. Just a quess from the different lighning I see now.

if this is true than changing the bad, sad, unemotional mood is easy to do for them. I wonder what they did and when it happened...

Yeah, that orange filter doesn't look good. I don't know why they changed it. With the color correction it looks MUCH better. Great work on those screenshots.

I have made quick PS by replacing the sky - to something we had before + color corrected - and a little bit of sharpening. Gif comparison

Great work. Sadly those color corrections don't give back some of the lost details (e.g. the famous corner of the tower). Still, it's a massive improvement and gives one hope for easy fixes. :)

I would respectfully disagree. There's a yellowish tint to many of the videos I've seen despite the time of day, and the sunsets are awash with simplistic color schemes, so that the sky looks flat. It honestly is not that impressive and I've seen better in last gen, Go look up Red Dead and its weather effects and tell me Witcher 3 looks better,

So this is only color correction right? There is no need for Reshade or SweetFx is this is true, just Download the MSI gaming app, it comes with a Custom colors Enabler, to adjust, just create the settings and voilia, no performance loss

Ow, man! If that what you wrote is really true, then would please someone try to make the same adjustments with this app and post the settings one needs to enter into the app? I'm not so good with color editing and am certain some talented person could do it in a jiffy.

Please?

Way way better. Why the hell CDP decided to use those awful colours, when they realized something good at first?

@Garrison72

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLRDsMwS4Vs (Note that the link is from PS4 version, and posted only for the skybox)

Witcher 3 looks better. You should just realize that it won't look the same all the time. That's what you get with a weather this dynamic. When you add the aerial perspective fog to all the different layers in the skybox, no wonder you'll get different looking skyboxes and lighting all the time (Although I agree 35 minute demo had a cooler colour scheme). I don't know if posting this would even matter, or I should have cared at all or not, but here goes anyway.

Yeah, the yellow tint is especially noticeable in all the indoor footage/screenshots.

See? THANK YOU.

This was my point, the draw distances and textures and everything are the same..its just some contrast/saturation changes. Not a downgrade in visual fidelity.

THANK YOU

That's a huge difference. The orange lighting is just something that doesn't belong in this game. I really have no idea why they made it like this. Because of this change the game at any time of the day looks like it's sunset. How the hell does this get approved? SweetFX here i come.

Not sure what you're on about. The draw distance is still worse than in the 35 minute walkthrough. Check the belltower in the distance in the Novigrad screenshot. The color correction makes the detail on near objects pop a little more though.

There's still detail missing. Just check the tower and the gate compared to the 35min Gameplay-Demo. The color correction helps, but it does not bring back geometry that's not there anymore.

Hmm that PS you have done is great, changes the mood completely and really reminds me of the good old 35 min demo, hopefully it's possible to mod it like that for the whole game, not just a single picture :p

The textures are the same indeed and draw distance is confirmed to be better in the final PC version but we still haven't seen the geometry on the buildings in the example below since the 35 minute demo.

We will find out in a couple of days if that is still in or not.
