What Cybernetics do you want to see in the game?

In Cyberpunk 2020, there are as many cybernetic options as there are vehicles and weapons... the amount is staggering.

Obviously they will never be able to include everything, so what items do you feel are absolutely necessary?

For me, I want to make it understood, that being able to choose just one arm, or just one leg to get cyber, is important.

Other than that... the options I most want to have, are Speeding Bullet or Corvette cyberlegs (only sold in pairs), which let you run amazingly fast.

I also really want the Dynalar Grapplefist, and be able to use not just to punch people at a distance, but also to swing around and rappel with.

I do not think the game should allo any heads up display whatsoever, until your character gets a Neuralware Processor, at least one Cyberoptic, AND a Times Square Marquee Option (possible exception would be wearing smartshades that allow for this)

Health should not regenerate naturally except by sleeping, unless you get Cybernetics such as Nanosurgeons and Enhanced Anti-bodies.

Now all this being said, you should still be able to beat the game with absolutely ZERO augmentation or cyber... the game shouldn't force it on you. After all, some of us may be luddites... or even Inquisitors...

What do you guys think has to be there?

Below is a link to an illustrated list of every single Cybernetic option that appears in the Published Cyberpunk 2020 books, the list was compiled by Andrew James of Node 16, and the illustrations were added by me.

Well, it's called Cyberpunk for a reason. If they'd add every single piece of cyberware, bioware, pharmaceuticals, weapons, vehicles, other gear, from all the Cyberpunk 2013/2020 books, or at least a some future derivative of the aforementioned, I wouldn't be disappointed.

More is better.

freaky stuff for enemies.

If we could have that Spiderman cybernetics, that would be very nice - crawling after the walls and buildings - lol, that would be something.

BTW - i liked those Tech hair, looks nice.

I want to see a huge variety of the glowing tattoos. Can't remember their name and my 2020 books are in a box someplace. But that would be an excellent way to customize your character throughout the game.

Adrenal Booster. Maybe doing something like a Max Payne style slowing down of scenes so you can do things more accurately.

All sorts of optic options that change the way you see the gameplay.

glowing tattoos are a must have :D

I....don't want all of them. Because Full Conversion Borgs would make it a very different game, unless handled exceedingly..finely.

I want most of them - the flashy chrome, the limbs, the body plating, the weird little tricks like detacheable fingers and retracting Buzz-hands. Smart-guns, neuralware, skillchips and biomonitor are, of course, a must.

And although you should be able to finish the game withOUT cyber, you should die a lot. Because it's CYBERpunk and Inquisitors suck, Wisdom. You know they do. Self-righteous robe wearing wilsons.

And also because cyber is supposed to make things easier and more efficient. That's why the pros use it, chombatta.

I'm gonna include gadgets as I think it comes under a similar heading:

- an array of non-lethal tech so we have a choice of subduing rather than killing. So hi-tech bolo's that wrap around the enemy, or a constricting kevlar net that we fire from our gun.

- harness mounted hoist that uses a super strong monofilament line to rappel down tall buildings.

- light bending technology for stealth suits.

- exo-skeleton technology like what the guy in the teaser is wearing, so we have an alternative to augmentations...and going crazy.

- embedded narcotics and adrenaline injector, mounted in our necks. To trigger fight or flight response on cue.

- synthetic shock-absorbent joint replacement modules, to help us absorb blows and jump/fall from great heights.

- bullet resistant skin weave.

- forearm mounted taser gun or poison dart shooter.

- ankle mounted jet propulsion system for enhanced jumping capability.

- electronically powered synthetic muscle weave, that enhances fast-twitch response.

- goggles that allow us to see in different wave lengths of light.

- hi-tech steel alloy gauntlets enabling us to punch through weak areas in walls. Or through someone's face. :)

This, especially the goggles.

I want to see what the art team can come up with if given the opportunity to design more 'transhuman' or animal hybridized cybernetics. We've seen physical boosted augmentations for ages in a ton of different media (things like armored skin, super speed legs, eyes that can scan stuff, etc), and it's obviously going to be included. I would love to see shit like shark-face augmentations, spider legs, gorilla arms, and bird wings.

Again... it comes to to playstyles... some people are going to want William Gibson and Bladerunner, others are going to want Appleseed and Ghost In The Shell. Neither group is wrong, and the tabletop game more than allows for these styles, and many others within their core setting. To properly emulate this, full conversions must be available on some level. Heck the chick in the trailer was pretty much an FBC herself, probably a gemini package... there are no subdermal armor implants you can put on your face, the skin is too thin and the muscles to complex. Now players shouldn't get dragoon bodies, because no one can suffer that humanity loss... which is why dragoons are fitted with behavioural modification chips and have very little agency or free will.

I highly doubt we will be able to smoke in the game, but I really want a cigarette dispencer option and a thumb lighter... cause that shit is just cool... besides, it's the future, anti-cancer treatments and nano makes smoking fun again.

Of course Inquisitors suck, bunch of self righteous assholes.

But there is something about the human experience that will make me want to beat the game with zero cyber...at least once...

Speaking of vision options... I want to be able to cycle through low light, thermograph, image enhancement, teleoptics... and between each one have it make that cool sound from Predator....

I just hope that there is crippling limb damage to the player so the dilemma of going for cyber, or organic limb replacement can accrue over the span of the game.

Well you're in luck then, they do have such packages for those who want to be more interesting. It's called Exotics and not only is it rather expensive it can at times be rather dangerous. And the options range from your Shark fantasies to mice, cats, dogs, snakes, dragons and the rather erotic exotic "PlayBeing".

Look up ChromeBook 2 for details.
