On the mod's description page, there's a section at the bottom regarding imported items.

===============
IMPORTED ITEMS
===============
I have deliberately kept all importable items away from these save files, allowing for an authentic, "clean" start in TW2. I also did this in order to avoid having to upload a multitude of alternative files, each with a different combination of silver- and steel swords, in order to cater to every possible request. All the swords (and the Raven's Armor) are available in the storage, however, so if you really want them, you can simply load up the save file of your choice, in TW1, and if you've installed this mod, you will be able to open up the storage and alter your current equipment any way you like. After you're done, save the game, and then use that save file when starting TW2. Easy as pie.

UPDATE: Since version 3.0 (Enhanced Edition) of the game, it seems the Mahakaman Rune Sihil (G'valchir) will always be imported, even if you don't have it equipped. It's possible that the import flags have changed, and read quest completion rather than current equipment, in this particular case. Short of re-doing this entire project and skipping that quest, there's nothing I can do about this.

If you extracted it, you should be able to see the files you extracted. One of them is called "Readme". It tells you exactly what to do. Read it.

Find the folder "The Witcher\Data". It will be under Program Files or wherever you installed the game.

Make a folder called "override" if there isn't one there already. So you will have a folder with a path that looks something like "C:\Program Files\The Witcher\Data\override".

Open the zipfile, and copy all the files from the folder "Stuff" into the "override" folder. So you will have a bunch of new files with paths like "C:\Program Files\The Witcher\Data\override\custom_script.ncs", etc.

Now that I got that straighten out I'd like to take the next step, how do I use the mods such as the appearance changes like the Black Kayran armor. Or the one that give the mysterious merchant all the Rs and URs. Based on the last lesson I was taught I guess the appearance one would go under a "Over ride" folder but I'd like someone who knows what there doing (Not me) to confirm that as far the others i'm not sure.

In TW2, the placement of files from a mod is different. Usually the mod will have a README that explains what goes where.

Look for the folder "The Witcher 2\CookedPC". Mod files go in that folder, or below it.

Files with the suffix ".dzip" go directly in that folder.

Other files will already be set up in a folder structure. Usually, you copy the top-level folder into the CookedPC folder.

For example, the Black Kayran Armor zipfile contains a single folder, CookedPC, and under that it contains a file with a whole path of folders that looks like:

characters\player\model\trunk\leather_armor\geralt_b17.xpm

So you copy the characters folder to your "The Witcher 2\CookedPC" folder, and you end up with an additional file that has the path

The Witcher 2\CookedPC\characters\player\model\trunk\leather_armor\geralt_b17.xpm

Almost all TW2 mods install in this way. But don't pretend this will get you out of making a habit of reading the README file and making sure you understand everything it is telling you to do.

See I do read the README but it's not as simple/ straightforward as other mods such as console mods (which I do VERY well) I want straight forward directions such as this: The witcher>>override>> such and such custom scripts. Or what you did above ^^. I'm not as good as you doing mods w/ PC but see I'm learning Always remember you didnt always know what you were doing as well as you do know someone either taught you or you learned on your own. I learn better by people teaching me (such as yourselves) but one day I wont need any help but remember you helped some one learn this. So know your time isnt being wasted it's being invested.

TW2 mods are very easy to install. You only need to know three things:

1. How to extract files from something like a .rar file.
2. How to find something on your computer.
3. How to copy files on your computer.

Cory has already explained the first of these, in a lot of detail.

These questions aren't really anything to do with the game itself, or the mods, but are basic knowledge about how to use a computer. Maybe you should think about going on a short computer course intended for users, or ask a friend to show you?

A friend of mine does tell me most issues I have involving computers but he cant be there every time I need help. On here there will always be someone who could help

I just READ the README file twice and I paraphrase it it says copy 100% chance to buy 7z to TW2 file it Doesn't say where there are many TW2 files. Someone care to explain/elaborate.

Remembering what some told me in the past was in the Cooked PC file but I want to know for a fact before i'm pasting stuff in my TW2 files.

OK first witcher 1 mods go in the Override folder . Witcher 2 is entirely different in where mods go . If it`s the 100% chance to buy an item . After extracting the file you will need to copy them items folder aka right click select copy then go to the Witcher 2>CookedPC folder and right click and select paste . Now you should have a new folder there labeled "items" . Start up the game and visit a merchant to see if the items are available . Some mods only add certain items to the Mysterious Merchant only .

I merged your last 3 posts to 1 . To do this yourself simply select the edit button in the post box .

Not a lot of people help all that gladly, if their advice gets questioned afterwards.They aren't obliged to do so, either. Less demanding and more humble requests are also helpful.

Maybe if you made a readable sentence out of that.

Why would you doubt what Guy N'wah told you? He knows his stuff extremely well, of which you can find proof galore right here in the forums. And that was not really a long time ago but yesterday.

He told you that mods in TW2 go into the CookedPC folder and that's where they go. If the mods have a folder structure, you should retain that structure. Like if the file inside the archive (*.rar or *.7zip or *.zip...) is inside a folder named 'items', it should go ...Program Files/The Witcher 3/CookedPC/items/filenameexample.xml.

BUT. If there's another file named filenameexample.xml (excact same spelling) in the folder already (which only applies if you already put another mod in there), you have to decide which mod to use or merge the two, but I will not start to explain how to do that right now.

In case anything goes wrong anyway when you start up the game, you need to know where exactly you put which file and undo that change. If you are not sure, write it down whenever you make a change. If your cheat-items don't show up in game, go over the whole process of README and various instructions here again. As long as you can retrace your steps and undo them, you should not be able to break your game.

And like Tommy said, please edit your postings instead of double-/triple-/quadruple-posting. That is very frowned upon, as this is not a chat, but a forum, where you add to your last posting if there is no other posting in-between. Thank you for your understanding.
