What do i do with all these materials?! Why do i haz so much gold!?

I have a bit of a predicament, starting to feel like maybe the game isn't challenging enough. I left all the extra DLC goodies in my game because when I started playing what really makes it difficult for me is the fact the combat system is IMHO buggy and flawed.

Now besides all that, I'm on ACT 2 and I have around 2500 orens. Is that a lot to have at this point in the game? Because I've noticed that I'm not really spending any money on anything and I barely even know where to start. I'm just using my blue stripes combat jacket, herbalist gloves, etc. etc. and swapping out a few other things with stuff I pick up along the way.

I also have a crapload of Alchemy ingredients and crafting supplies and I'm not sure what to do with all of them, I'm afraid if i Leave them in storage then I'll need them, but they add up to be a lot of weight after a while. I haven't crafted anything at all yet, meaning I haven't taken any diagram to any blacksmith and brought any materials to try and make anything. A lot of it is just overwhelming and I'm not sure where to start and how to use all of it, I might by more diagrams from the craftsmen at the Kaedweni camp but I feel like something is wrong. I'm just waltzing along doing quests but I'm not spending any money unless I'm betting, not really crafting anything, and I have no shortage of Orens it seems which really isn't that fun.

I spent it on the Draug Armor diagram. Also you can craft yourself a Robust Red Meteorite Sword, its pretty good for that chapter.

Sound like you need to increase the difficulty level. Problem solved.

If you play on normal you don't really need to buy anything, only books maybe, to understand the universe of TW2.
On hard you'll need to craft and buy stuff, because if you don't, it can get very difficult.

That's not a *lot* of money. On Iorveth's path you can spend around 2800 orens on a dragon scale armor, but that's a special price if you have a special "talent"...

You can spend your money and crafting materials on weapons (a robust meteorite sword is a good choice for Act II) or as pointed out, armor. However as in most RPG's, the best items are earned, not bought. You may also craft some bombs and mix some potions. Have you not used any of these?

Money has nothing to do with difficulty. If you chose to farm orens, would that make the game "easier"? Not quite, since you just realized it does not rely on money.
