What do you desire for the first expansion (not DLC) ? Make a list

Can I ask for a Quake super nailgun? I'm in love with that weapon.
Hm.

I was replying to previous posts without seeing the title.

What I would want from an actual expansion? After taking down the Arasaka Tower, I want to wreak havoc in the Crystal Palace.

CDPR will just do their thing anyway... it's how business works at this point.

I felt the main game didn't have enough quality side quests to make up for the short main quest. I feel they may have a lot of cut and/or unfinished content that didn't make the final game. Hopefully they can finish these and add to a Blood and Wine size first expansion that fills Night City with quality quests and refinement of the game systems.

What I don't understand is how cdprojekt is supposed to do a story expansion when there are 7 different endings plus as Male V and Female V has other relationships. I mean, of course, everyone wants the V to get well first and lead a relationship with others (panam, Judy, etc) but that would be a lot of stuff to program. or cdprojekt will choose the best ending from the main game and produce the expansion from it. They say yes to the news you saw last week that 160 people or so are working on the first story expansion ????????

By not making the expansion about V, but a new protagonist. Let V rest, his story is over.

If it was up to me, there’d be two or three heavy-weight expansions that would all have a different protagonist, new forms of gameplay opportunities, skills, perks, lifepaths and storylines of their own.

That is why my post consist of condensed parts of 2-3 expansions scenarios instead of a whole 5-7 expansions from each endings.
(are there really 7 endings though? I believe it's 4 main with 1 secret & 1 suicide end that don't count by default)
It's just even more unrealistic judging from the state of CDPR right now.

Even though I said a "pipe dream" scenarios, CDPR indeed "promised" there will be at least 2 expansions, just like Witcher 3. The talks about expansions will be based endings are also just 100% guess works. It could be the past or the future or the present time for all we know.

My expansions scenarios basically a inspired by Witcher 2's massive 2 way fork path storyline where each arc final decisions completely separate Geralth's journey. both in locations, characters, & story contents.

I would just like what feels like the game promised, or something resembling that. Get Rich or Die Tryin' 2077, the missing six months from meeting Jackie to Dex hitting you up for the Heist, essentially. It's bad enough they show you in the trailers he's going to die, so you see it coming from a mile away, but when it happens in the game I barely gave a damn because I just met the guy an hour or so earlier in the game. Seriously, what a let down.

I don't have high hopes though, as it's probably just going to be some retcon fork where you get de-iced early and knock over that casino in the hills. Perhaps we'll dick around with Keanu for a few extra hours and the T-posing will finally be alleviated. Chances are they'll find a way to integrate that card game they announced - don't want to let that potential cow go unmilked.

I would agree to this but I would personally make an opportunity to really adopt "Cyberpunk Red" class/job system, instead going on the 3 lifepaths from the base game. It's just simply far more richer & more interesting imo, especially when CDPR really did nothing much about the lifepath stories as in a more intimate manners. Basically one specific life background (or mysterious none) with multiple starting points to reach the goal/finale.

The role/class/job/occupation system for the new MC can be adapted to something like this:
1. Solo (Mercenary):
Assassins, bodyguards, killers, and soldiers-for-hire in a lawless new world.
- Become a mercenary in the Afterlife, taking many solo gigs alongside selected teams.
- Goal: become Night City Legendary solo.
2. Lawman (MAX-TAC): Maximum law enforcers patrolling the mean streets and barbarian warrior highways beyond.
- Patrol around NC & fighting crimes via the lawmen gigs with selected partner cops/max-tac.
- Goal: become to elite MAX-TAC & become most decorated cop.
3. Medtech (Trauma Team): Unsanctioned street doctors and cyberware medics, patching up meat and metal alike.
- Hired in TTI & involve in many trauma team gigs.
- Goal: become a high ranking TTI employee & officer.
4. Panzerboy (Nomad): Transport experts, ultimate road warriors, pirates, and smugglers who keep the world connected.
- Start your own nomad clan, take Panzerboy gigs to achieve it.
- Goal: become a legendary nomad leader.
5. Exec (Corpo): Corporate power brokers and business raiders fighting to restore the rule of the Megacorps.
- Hired by a corporation, climb to the highest corporate ladder with cutthroat means.
- Goal: become the high ranking exec of corporation factions.
6. Rockerboy: Rock-and-roll rebels who use performance, art, and rhetoric to fght authority.
- Rebels the mega corps through musics & arts, street racing, & maybe some fights too.
- Goal: become Night City Legendary Rockerboy.
7. Boostergang / Gangoon: gang members enhanced themselves with cybernetic technology & affiliated with a gang tradition/rules/hierarcy.
- Join any factions of the gangs, attain your gang ambitions & superiority through any means.
- Goal: become the new leader of chosen gang.

There are supposed to be a mix of 10 roles & that wasn't even including affiliation with gangs like "boostergang" role.

Yup all of this, unlikely I know but I think this is the game 14y/o me hoped someone would make one day! Just missing the media class.

so, after the short story of V another (short) story with new character? no, thanks

You don’t hear a counterargument from me about that. I’ve been here trying to push for adoption PnP systems and generally more robust RPG mechanics since 2012.

But you (we) can probably forget about it. They didn’t want that sort of RPG stuff in the core game, so it is fair to assume they don’t want it with where ever the franchise is going either.

Yes please for me.

If they make it short, then that’s the way it is. If they make it taking more of the players time, then that’s the way it’s going to be.

It can be both too, depending on how they decide to build the narrative structure. More open that sets the player loose in the world to find his own way to reach the objectives and follows his actions more than a heavyhanded script, or relatively closed and more linear in nature like V’s storyline that goes pretty strictly from one predetermined event to another.

Depends on how you wish to define 'expansion' and 'dlc' since they are arguably the same thing, barring semantics.

Smallest request - Let me sit on any seat.
Biggest request - Continue the Blue Eyes mission to the Crystal Palace and have V 'fixed' in the process, somehow, as a 'reward' for success.

-Bieing part of a gang with a rep system for each gang.
-Doing more missions to the corpos
-A expansion with the fifth corporate war :)
- A dlc with missions to really play for solos, or netrunners or any other job (they kind of did it with the Panam storyline with the nomads)

Unique lifepath storylines. Class unique story trees.

Choose your own adventure type decision consequences would be nice, but seems to be asking too much.

I'm new to Cyberpunk, but this is all the game needs. I should probably just go make my own game...

More visibly lethal offensive hacking options. If I take people out by setting them on fire, electrocuting them, and poisoning the shit out of them, it should have more of an effect than just knocking them unconscious. The behavior of hacks in general could use a serious upgrade...for example the grenade one is cool if they have explosives, but the rest of the time it's not even worth putting on your deck...or the one that makes the cyberware explode when it wears off...most of the time the npc just does a shock a twitch and falls over.

The year is 2078. You awake, shivering and naked, in a chamber, dimly lit. Square, three by three metres, height impossible to determine on account of the darkness, but tall. On the walls (concrete, smooth, and you can smell them, so: newly built) numbers stream down digital displays; they look meaningless to you.

You're sore. All over your body and down every limb, like you haven't moved in a week. You're on a bed. It's hard and uncomfortable. You're tied down by some kind of restraint across your waist. You can't see what it is.

A sudden, sharp pain races behind your ear, like someone stuck a screwdriver in your skull and turned it. You reach back: a second port. Why do you have a second port? It hurts. F***, it hurts.

The walls have no doors, you realise. No windows. Whatever this place is, you aren't meant to get out.

"Good morning."

The voice comes from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Deep, like a man's, but somehow not -- like it came from lungs made from metal and lips that aren't real.

"How old are you?"

You have to answer: "28."

"What is the year?"

"2078."

"Where do you live?"

"Megabuilding 6, apartment 31-50."

"What do you do for a living?"

You hesitate. "You know, odds and ends."

"What do you do for a living?" the voice repeats, no differently from the first time.

"Cop. I'm a cop."

"What is your rank?"

"Detective."

"Where is your precinct?"

"Charter Hill, Night City."

"What happened on November 19 2077?"

"I... I can't remember."

"That doesn't matter. What is your name?"

"My name... My name is..."

"What is your name?" the voice repeats.

"I... I'm... My name is Ca--"

You black out.

Follow Finn / Faye, a newly-arrived detective with the NCPD, as they find themselves embroiled in a series of strange events that all seem somehow to lead back to the disappearance of the Voodoo Boys a year before and they slowly come to realise that their life is not what they remember it to be. Join them as they find themself the unwitting instrument of the Blackwall's destruction. And fear for them as they are stolen away by a mysterious figure who holds the key to Finn / Faye's past and the future of civilisation (who may or may not turn out to be V, reported dead a year ago).

Well, I can dream...

1. I'd like to see AV-based missions -- rooftop infiltrations, and that sort of thing; y'know, meeting sleazy clients in opulent penthouses, getting sent off to break into BioTechnica or Militech offices. We have already have a few bottom-up missions (like
breaking into the Russians' penthouse for Regina), but I'd like to see some more top-down things (more along the lines of
the first Johnny flashback, or the Arasaka finale, with a mix of the Peralez thing -- just with AVs). Night City is a beautiful and terrible vertical urban environment, and our elite mercenary, V, is forever a slug, clinging to the filthy ground. I want to fly... like... a slug with AV-powered wings!

2. Silly as it sounds, I'd also like to see more nightlife options. You can dance at Totentantz, but all the other clubs are either inaccessible outside missions, or just seem lifeless. I think having a few eating/drinking animations, and the ability to sit on barstools would go a long way. Mission-wise, some simple "beat up the troublemakers" radiant missions for nightclubs would be cool.

3. Some expanded romance missions. Nothing serious, just a few things to make it seem like I'm not just abandoning Judy by her apartment window, or River on the deck of his RV, or Kerry... in his... mansion of awesomeness. I'm not saying we need to go full on GTA San Andreas, but I'd like some follow-up things.

4. Something with Ciri. Maybe she's a netrunner, trapped behind the blackwall. Maybe she ruins someone's day in aforementioned AV missions. Maybe she's a phantom killer of NC dirtbags that V tries to track down. I dunno.

5. A stylist. I wanna change my damn hairstyle and get some piercings without downloading a mostly-working, somewhat-sketchy mod.

(HUGE fist of salt chooms!) I hear Expansion 1 might be revolving around Pacifica nothing past Nocturne and the several paths leading to the ending, which is very disappointing. So basically it would just add a layered series of quests within Pacifica before V meets with Hanako at Embers. I think CDPR should let players know now that the expansions will not be advancing Vs storyline, if they wait to drop this until the release of the expansion its going to create a huge backlash-they should announce it now in my opinion if any of this is true.
