What do you NOT want to see in the game?

+
Little to no explanation for the lack of revolution, now or in the past. A good explanation, at that. The same goes for being stuck in the city, and no effect from the world outside.

And in your very long post, I couldn't find anything that would clarify your point to me. What kind of hard do you want exactly?

I thought I listed several ways of making the game hard.

For example, Cyberpunk 2020 has such a thing as initiative. So, I would say Cyberpunk 2077 should have a thing that determines who acts first. Now, in Cyberpunk 2020, initiative has a random element in the form of a d10 roll. In Cyberpunk 2077, there could be some kind of a reactionary mechanic which would work as the random element, and the whole thing would become easier to do the higher your initiative was. This way, if you'd have a cyberware-, bioware- and drug-enhanced REF and initiative, there would be a mechanic ensuring you'd act before most enemies, and if you wouldn't be very augmented, acting before enemies would depend on your own reactions (acting as the d10 roll mechanic), thus giving a challenge and a level of difficulty.

Then of course netrunning could have several different types of puzzles. And then there are the things I listed earlier. Resource management and so on, as well as several other things, including but of course not limited to having to aim the sights of your gun (or the crosshair) at the head hitbox of the enemy to take him down fast.

Simply following dialogue at point A, then going to B and following more dialogue is not very challenging or rewarding in my opinion. If I wanted to read, I'd grab a book.

Ouch, this will become quite a long list...

1. Don't make the game gender specific. This is the reason i never have and never will buy the witcher. I hate predefined PC!
2. No character classes. With enough effort everyone should be able to learn everything. But i'd be fine with a limit how much you can learn...
3. Don't decide what happens to the PC after we finish the game. NPC are different, but avoid the 'WTF i'd never ever do that!'
4. Don't force the player into doing something just to get on with the story (yep, sometimes difficult but doable).
Example: you're ordered to kill someone, but later you find hints that he's innocent. But the only way to move on in the game is to kill him. (What to do)
5. Don't fall for the 'There's only one way to go on', several ways are way more interesting even if they intersect. (How to get to a destination)
6. Please don't use the 2010 'design'.
7. Don't limit the look of a PC too much. It doesn't have to be AION, but something like ME 2 or so should be possible.
8. Don't make us redo the PC again and again if we want a fresh start. A savegame within the creation (to change the look) would be great...
9. No invisible walls or 'you can't go this way'! That's something i HATE in every game made by Beth. Be inventive when it comes to that:
A certain sound or light effect before something bad happens (car in a street race runs you down (you're toast), something collapses on top of you (toast again)).

Hmmm, every bet i forgot some stuff... Well, i can add to the list at a later time.

Btw: what the heck is 'QTE'?

QTE is short of "quick time event." Basically, it's when there's a cutscene (or a boss battle) and the game requires you to rapidly press a button to continue. I'm trying to think of a PC title that uses them extensively.. The Witcher 2 had them, but you didn't buy it, and Mass Effect 2 and 3 had them (Paragon/Renegade triggers), but they were optional so they weren't that bad. If you ever played Shenmue on Dreamcast, it was the game that introduced the mechanic. God of War made it popular.

You know what, let me just link a video.

Reactionary combat is one of the best things there is, coming mainly from fighting games such as Virtua Fighter, or even earlier stuff originally, where you react to the enemy, even going so far as doing a throw or a counter strike maneuver. I know that it can be a bitter pill for someone not used to playing such games, having to hone your skills and reactions for a while before you are any good, but it's actually good for you to do so.

Reactionary minigames can also be quite good, if made properly.

I would personally like to see some level of this being incorporated into the martial arts, melee and gun combat of Cyberpunk 2077, but obviously so that your character's skills are the driving force behind how well he performs; you and your own reactions would simply bring the random aspect to the game.

This is the what don't you want to play thread, but I agree. I want excellent melee combat so bad. The Witcher 2 certainly had good combat for a computer RPG, but Dragon's Dogma had even better combat. Ideally, I'd get a mixture of Ninja Gaiden's agility, combos and counters with Yakuza's area awareness. If you're next to a car, smash your opponent's face into it. Have the guns and stuff for people who aren't used to twitchier gameplay.

The game would be boring if it was equal to all RPGs so I do not want to see in a game my items without interaction empty without calling attention
I do not want to see people inpedimdo bugando to continuation of the history of the game
I do not want to see ships, cars, motorcycles flying and walking without giving you control

Escort / rescue jobs where the peep HAS to use the absolute worst route to exit by there by drawing several rounds of fighting they should be following you and doing what you say to get their asses out alive NOT calling the shots on how they get back to safety while you try to keep them in one piece .... always make me want to kill them my self for being so stupid

pretty much Wisdom and few others summed up what I had to say early on, one thing I just remembered from the first witcher is, please don't make an option for making the lootable objects visible. It was thank god not there in TW2 but still saying.

well my most 'do not want' is not being able to/play explore the gameworld after the story is done (we can have post game dlc in the future too!)

Good lord do I hate that....

I will never understand exactly what audience game makers are trying to appeal to when they throw like 4 or 5 of these missions into a game...

This.

These missions are terrible.

I don't want there to not be support for x-box 360 controllers. I play pretty much every PC game with an X-box 360 controller.

I don't want there to be very many bright white scenes or loading screens, too much white hurts my eyes.

I don't want to have to read the story please have cometary speaking of the story. (preferably mostly a nice sweet female voice mostly.)

I don't want there to be multiple options that lead to the same outcome. I want many possible different outcomes as realistic as possible.

I don't want to be grossed out, I mean you don't have to get very detailed on the gore, for example I don't like on The Darkness games how you rip the hearts out and eat them, that sorta crosses the line for me and made me not play those games very much. However you can still have gore just don't go over board for example in Far Cry 3 they have lots of gore however it doesn't seem to get too gross for the most part. If you do go out there just make the worst gore parts short or have the option to leave the scene.

I don't want to see unsightly females, there is enough of the unsightly females in reality just try to focus on all the different perfect forms of females and all different races.

I don't want the game to just end. I mean everyone likes an ending but it's also fun to keep playing with everything you have obtained, maybe allow you to keep playing after you have won the game and have consistent things you can still do unlimited times for endless fun after the games end.

I don't want to be locked into doing things in an exact order, I like being able to just go and do my own thing when I want and then get back to the missions storyline whenever I choose.

I don't want the character creator to be lacking in any way.

I don't want to see a game just like all the other games out there, be as creative as possible with this make everything new you can that could be beneficial.

I was with you on most of your points, till I got to this:

"I don't want to see unsightly females, there is enough of the unsightly females in reality just try to focus on all the different perfect forms of females and all different races."

What................. the............ fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously man, it's 2013, the game will be set in 2077.... it's time to put away the "no fat chicks" t-shirt, it was never funny in the first place.

Ah, Vex, you're going to occasion frequent responses like that I'm afraid. Ohhh, well.

Anyways, another vote here for either a) NO escort quests or B) Finally Done Right escort quests. No idea what that would look like - they've all sucked up till now. Maybe one where the NPC races ahead, massacres everyone, gets to the end and looks at you.
"Man, ", he says impatiently, "I hate these jobs - always waiting for the NPC to catch up and not die." Then flips his hair, suggests you prepare him a breakfast of kippers upon his return, and exits with a bang.
