First time round it was Act II, I hated every minute of having to deal with echinops, bloedzuigers and drowners, especially when I was mid loot. As for Act V I found this reasonably difficult, but was surprised how easily Azar Javed died (it may have helped that I killed off Berenger in the previous Act and stole his amulet). I think the worst boss here was the kolchey, and I don't quite know how I managed to survive. Now on my second play through, with some idea of what i'm doing i'm finding Act 3 annoying more than anything, as I have to go through so many different areas (the temple quater, the trade quater and the swamp)

Well I just got to act 3 and act 2 was a pain in the swamps. It's like walk 5 metres and a drowner pops up out of the water and so you kill it then another drowner pops up so 'you do a runner' just to get away from being annoyed and then those bloedzuigers then start to chase you then those damn echinops pop up and shoot poisoness darts at you.You run to the mage's tower and you get ghouls and drowners and if you run north west you get wyrens and if you go near the druids camp you get wolves.Go near the wood cutters camp you get every monster except wyverns and ghouls.Go near the brickmakers village and you get drowners. If you run all ends up being a big chase like something out of the benny hill show...a whole line of swamp monsters chasing you...it quiet funny but sooo many monsters out for blood it's actually not funny when your health gets low after too many attacks. But it's worse after dark since that is when all the monsters are outI have to admit once you kill quiet a few and level up and upgrade your attack styles it gets easier to dispatch a drowner's in two attack sequences with the fast style with your silver sword.Echinops are a PAIN...I died a couple of times when you fight the super Echinop one, where if you kill it you get a trophy and some big reward oren from Vincent.Oh well four more chapters to go then well see which is harder.

Yes some places in the swamp are quite overpopulated with creatures ;D When a bunch of monsters approached Geralt I always took refuge on those already cleared spots to welcome the new creatures there one by one.btwyou forgot the kikimore spawns in act 3 swamp ^__^

Are they cowards? Or smart enough to see when they lost?Anyway. There are quite a few hard places in various acts. The Hellhound (Act 1) and the Koschey (Act 5) were a pain in the butt. The first time in the swamp with all the monsters is quite hard. The fight against the Big Brother can be challenging. All together, I would say that each Act has its hard part and easy ones.

Act II.Mainly cause of the Swamps and the giant centripede and the fight with Azar and Professor.

Giant centripede pester you in the fields of Murky Waters. Do you mean Echinops and Archespore in Act II ? They are likewise nasty, I agree.

Now I can really say, that the hardest act was for me the Act III in the Kikimore-Queen-Lair because I played on difficulty hard and I don't want to use AARD on the support beams. So I played with the hints from the German-community-WOP-member "Max Strauss" (many thanks) only with "brown oil", Quen Sign und some other Potions. Killing the Queen was very tough (more tougher as against the Beast, because therefore I figured out a good method). Then in almost the same manner hard was the combat against the(I think) 50 kikimore-workers and mainly the the (I think) ten kimiore-warriors.PS I know, I know, but I was young and I need the experience-points. ;)

Do you have a link to the "Max Strauss" strategy? I'm curious to learn about it :)

Of course. Here you have.http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?t=401517Only one info: In this thread there are many other methods of "Killing the Queen" without using aard on supporting beam, too.But I'm surprised. Because I know you are in the german-WOP-Witcher-community at home, too. And I thought you know this thread already?

Yes you are right but unluckily I don't have always the time to check both boards precisely. So I'm thankful if someone like you draw my attention to such highlights ;)

I have to say for me the Kikimore-Queen on hard was a bit tricky trying to get the timing just right on the support beam's and trying to run around all the lesser spawn in doing it :DAlso On hard in the last fight with the GM and his lesser spawn too getting the tactic just right as a bit tricky too :D

Act III was the hardest, mainly because of the kikimore warriors in the swamps. I had to reload thousands of times when crossing the swamps at night only to reach the mage's tower in order to teleport back to Wyzima.

For me the hardest was ACT II. So much quests to do, so much places to go. I spent about a week to finish it :dead:

My opinion is that Act II is the hardest. For where you are level wise in the game, the creatures in the swamp, and the shear length of it.

I had the feeling at night the swamp creatures are more active than during day. And I learned: don't rush through the swamp when you are a young witcher. Everywhere lurks a creature and if you try to escape into a "not cleared" section... you have a problem
