@archav3n Seems you didn`t understand what I typed. I agreed with you that player should be able to turn it off. I also stated my opinion (my mistake, sorry). You disagree with it but that doesn`t mean it`s flawed :p.

well apologies that i misread. your opinion is clearly not flawed. if that makes you happier :). Also, alot of action RPGs like Dark Souls 2 also having similar UI and the combat is very similar to Witcher:

It's just that the UI hotbar wasn't vertical.

What do you think the function of this is in Witcher 3 ?

In Witcher the number of slots you get depends on the armor the you are using and you can store the potions and the bombs that you need in the slots, so it's part of the gameplay which I find to be really creative and functional. If you want more slots, you have to find better armors or upgrade them.
Your steel and silver swords can be assigned to Q and T buttons, and the signs Aard, Igni, Axxi, Quen, and Yrden can get assigned to 1,2,3,4, and 5 keys.
So there is really no need for the ugly hotbar that blocks player's view, unless you have Alzheimer's and forget the numbers :)

I have to partially agree.

I mean, quick-buttons are cool and the "weapon/sign wheel" is already known from TW2 and I liked it a lot.
I don't understand the need for a hotbar.

If you have bombs, potions, weapons and signs at your fingertips there is no reason for a hotbar IMO. Not saying "I do not want a hotbar" mind you, as long as it's optional I do not mind a hotbar.

The return of potion drinking animations, dice poker and them keeping up on their earlier promise of a pc specific inventory.

@Moonknightsg If you only bother to read. As i said it will aid gamers in reminding them which key they bind the items/gadgets/potions/etc. If by your theory, even the Witcher 3 don't need UI at all?. Why show the weather icon? We can clearly see from the screen. Please do not bother to reply if you have nothing to add.

I never said that The Witcher 3 doesn't need UI at all. I just said that The Witcher 3 doesn't need of an hotbar, because it isn't recommended for an action based combat system. I think hotbar is a "tool" recommended for party based RPGs, or RPGs with turn based combat system. And I never mentioned the weather icon.

Hi. The Q and T buttons can be assigned to ANY keystroke you want. Why forced it upon players? ;). Every PC gamer using the KB&M has different preferences. So i see there's no point in limiting and forcing the way how to play on a keyboard. As the keyboard it's not limited to 8 buttons like the controller. So when you re-assigned the keys, the hotbar will be very beneficial in reminding gamers what keystrokes they have assigned to what actions/items/gadgets/skills.

Thanks for highilghting the potion icons. As you see those icons are actually a mini-hotbar for "potions". If you can remember what keys you assigned the potions you don't really need the mini-hotbar too. So there is really no need for the ugly 3 slot hotbar (with the potion, an empty slot, and crossbow) as well? :p.

The ugly hotbar did not block player's view. It's only appearing during combat. What if you can put it vertically on the right? Of course it's your opinion IF it's stil blocking you. But as i suggested it's optional. You don't have to use it right? I'm happy if it's off by default to not block you and i can enable it in the options/settings :). So why are you feeling selfish that people cannot suggest an optional hotbar they like to see? Does it make your life miserable? If you don't want it people shouldn't have it? Just like dice poker. Some don't like so the whole witcher fans who love it cannot have it? :p.

Now to be reasonable. The ONLY thing that is ugly and blocking the player's view is the slow-motion BIG radial menu which is MEANT for CONTROLLER. The hotbar does not hinder but only benefits those who want to use KB&M options. So WHY forcing a console specific UI for me as a PC gamer?

I would like to see the Open World aspects of the game. The weather, the interactions between NPCs. Basically most of the things that make this world as open and diverse as they it can be.

Previous Demos have just had geralt rushing through to go kill more stuff. They could show a quest that doesn't require any kind of blood to be shed. Like Geralt being hired to translate between a Mermaid and her human lover or something.

I think this are the things that would win me over. We've seen combat, its cool. Now show us what makes the witcher an amazing and different experience.

I would like to see a real Kaer Morhen like in the books. A hard place to find in the woods with caverns, old room taking dust but with life around with the different witcher character and some rare young witcher passing through every stage of becoming a witcher. Like the herb test, the mutagene test, art martial combat training. Etc. A true Kaer Morhen, i want to feel home :)

I wonder if Geralt relationship with ciri would be possible or would it be too much to handle for players? Well we got already Foltest in that front.

I'd like to see combat on hardest difficulty so that we can see the full complexity of the combat system. Lots of people on the internet are saying the combat will be casual and hack and slash and I keep telling them it's for demo purposes but they simply don't believe me. It's not representing the game very well.

Well if you don't remember the lore, then Foltest had Adda with his sister.
