What does developers think?

+
I can't help wondering what developers of CP must think when they release a game like this. Im not talking about those that speak in interviews etc. Because they obviously have to sell the game. But rather one of the people that for instance work on the traffic functionality and that knows that it is not working as intended or simply know the general state of the game and then reading, how much people are looking forward to the game and how excited they are. That must be a very weird position to be in, knowing that you can't tell people, you can't really warn the management because they most likely won't listen anyway.

It must be really weird for these people, just being in the background and knowing that shit is about to hit the fan hard :D

It's probably a mixture of massive disappointment that they can't make the best product possible or even the one they want to make and being so burnt out from over a year of crunch that they want it to end.

This seems to be a trend in every company. Low and mid ladders know that shit ain't ready and shitstorm will emerge, but higher ups push it out anyways.

You are making the assumption that "traffic functionality" is a failiure in their eyes. I am not so sure. Maybe what we see in the game is the result of a carefully considered design decision. Maybe the purpose was never to have realistic behaviours for NPC drivers and pedestrians, especially when someone is actively trying to disturb them. Maybe they thought giving the impression of a lively city is enough. Maybe settling for less intelligence allowed them to save some resources, allow more NPCs, better performance, etc. Maybe we would think that their decision makes sense, if we knew what they know.

Youtubers want more intelligent behaviour from NPCs. Many want more intelligent behaviour from youtubers.
