nope, untrue, there was a WSGF community forum made hack that did free up the FOV settings ( worked in game patch 1.2 only ): http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/4879/witcher212pov.png

Then it's obvious that from beginning of development this game was designed for consoles. No ingame graphic options, no camera options and on and on and on...
I can't describe how disappointed I am about this game and about devs. All about money nowadays.

By that measure, Baldur's Gate was designed for consoles.

The checklist of things that must be met in order to be a bona fide PC game is ridiculous. Can't a game just be what it is without having to conform to someone's narrow set of expectations of what constitutes a PC game? Oh, the game uses DirectX 9, so it's clearly a console traitor. Oh, you can't adjust the camera so it obviously can't be a true PC game. Oh, you have to be outside of the game in order to change graphic options, so despite even many console ports having that option, it's clearly a measure of how PC-ish a game is.

No. Just no. This is a game that was PC-exclusive for a whole year, and many things had to be changed for the Xbox release. To say that it was designed with consoles in mind from the very beginning is at best ignorant, and at worst a flat-out lie.

I actually didn't like the Witcher 1 camera options. They were tolerable, but I like the over-the-shoulder camera of the Witcher 2 a lot more. However, I won't say no to more options for players that would prefer otherwise.

I would love to have camera options (zoom in-out), like it was in the first game. Other than that, i would like to hear news about SDK... (if developers not going to add camera options, fans will)

I'm just hoping that devs will read this thread and will understand that a lot of people really care about this franchise and that we need this camera control option (like in first Witcher or simple zoom out), for god's sake. I really want to play this game but I can't, because of this little thing. Is that to much to ask?

I guess options would be nice but honestly I really like the camera in Witcher 2. It works great, it's a teamplayer and I never had any problems with it. So yeah, I hope they keep the camera and just add options.

Maybe someone can fix it themselves when the SDK is released.

But in an interview they claimed modders could manipulate camera angles with the tool set. It'll be interesting to see if we can do this. It'd really change the tactical approach to fighting since you could pan it out to see all your enemies at once.

I'd just like to add my request for an FoV slider. I bought Witcher 2 upon the release of the enhanced edition and have been waiting for this feature ever since then. Since no progress seems to have been made on this front, I figured I might attempt to explain why this is to important to so many of your customers. As others here have said, the low FoV makes it impossible for me to play this game, since it causes me to experience severe headaches and motion sickness after only about 15 minutes.

Moreover, I find the dismissive attitude of some here regarding this issue to be extremely frustrating, since the lack of an FoV slider means I (and many others) cannot play this game without becoming physically ill. I do understand that we are in the minority, and that most people (including many developers) still do not know about this problem, but it has been an issue since the release of Half-Life 2, and likely before then. It is widespread enough to have led Valve to patch an FOV slider into HL2, and they have also included one in all of their games since.

More info on this phenomenon can be found here, and plenty of evidence for it here.

I realize some here simply do not like how the closer camera looks and feels, and this is entirely understandable. But I do feel that it is important to distinguish between those who are simply annoyed by it, and those like me who are actually unable to play this game because of the FoV.

This game looks amazing, and at the end of the day, all I (and others) want is to be able to play it without becoming violently ill. I do not think this is unreasonable. Thanks very much for listening.

I have an inner ear disorder which was really bad when I was a kid. It could lay me out for days. It simply makes you dizzy - violently dizzy. It's hard to describe how unpleasant it is but I sympathize with what's being said here regarding the FOV slider, and hopefully it can be modded into the game. The really bizarre thing is I never get motion sickness, from games or being in boats and in cars. Go figure.

Maybe because they don't consider this a relevant issue just like they don't consider the mouse problems relevant despite the fact that issue affects a lot more people.
