Dragon Age Veilguard. For me a mixed bag in terms of main story, world building and level design, but still enjoyable enough to play till the end.
Side quests were better than expected.

Also: "The Casting of Frank Stone" - as much as I enjoyed Until Dawn, this one didn't really work for me. ...
It's a better game than its ratings would indicate. It suffered from terrible marketing and from over-the-top bad writing for a couple of the main companions.

Just finished Dispatch. Great story. It's short and not much other than dialogue choices and some light puzzle and QTE mechanics, but if you like Telltale style choose-your-own-adventure games it's definitely worth the $30.

I just finished my run on Rogue Trader in 1.5. They really improved a lot of stuff! Pretty completed everything I wanted to complete and unlocked all companions... The kind of team which I assume you do not encounter that often in W40K universe :p

I was afraid that Owlcat may had nerfed my favorite classes, but no... It's even more powerful than before! My "dual drukhari sword" assassin can wipe out almost all enenmis alone in the first turn with just a little help (buffs) of Cassia and Jae. Crazy :D

And well... I stick with Owlcat for now, so new run on Pathfinder WOTR :ROFLMAO:

Drukhari swords? Heretic!
Yes I know... Heinrix isn't especially happy about that either. I apologize to all human's craftmans but Drukhari know how to make swords. They craft the best swords in the game, period :p

Even more than before for assassin class because of the new changes. Drukhari sword damages are based on Agility instead of Strength which is the most important characteristic for assassins. Lethality, which increase the damages (and also additional direct damages) is based on dodge stat, which is itself based on Agility. No need to talk about the crazy effects (each time you're hiting a target increasing your characteristics by 3 while decreasing ennemi's ones by the same amount, until the end of combat^^).

Picked up Escape from Duckov, because it wasn't too expensive for a curious person and it has... well... ducks. Game has been mentioned few times here and there and people always seemed to like it. I do enjoy some looter shooters time to time, but generally I really don't like playing with strangers or against other people. This one is single player only, but has all those other interesting features in it.

Okay, I really didn't expect Escape From Duckov to be so addicting. I thought that it would be cute and funny for few hours, but it's definitely much more. It has been rated in Steam as "Overwhelmingly Positive", and for a good reason. Controls and perspective took some time to get used to, but after a while it stopped bothering me.

For starters, you can play as long as you want. You have 15 mins? No problem. You have 8 hours? No problem. There is always bit more loot to get and you are not stuck in half an hour long "levels". You are free to come and go as you see fit. And you can even pause the game whenever you want.

While it definitely has looter shooter survival elements in it, it doesn't take things too seriously. And it also does. If you happen to die in a challenging spot with inventory full of precious loot, it really hurts. You have a base where you can craft and build stuff and the game definitely gives you reasons to do so. So you are not just looting stuff for the sake of looting. I also really enjoy the music and sound effects, which are very non-shootery, but still fit in the game like a glove.

At some point I thought that the boss (?) was bombarding me with grenades, but based on the loot, I started to doubt that...

Is the title some kind of "homage" to Escape From Tarkov? I wonder, because it's way too similar to not be :giggle:

I never played Tarkov myself (and most likely never will), but apparently this is very similar to that. Except this is single player (PVE) and with ducks :D So the name is "accurate", as far as I know of.

Edit: Oh, I totally forgot to mention, that the game also has difficulty levels, so you can adjust it as you like. I chose to go with "relaxed" or whatever it was called.

Finally got around to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Excellent game. Definitely the best I've played since BG3. Maybe the best I've played since TW3.
My nephew immediately jumped on that when it released and said the same. I will eventually have to give it a serious look.

Combat is a callback to 90s era turn based JRPGs with an added on QTE parry & dodge system to avoid attacks from enemies that have a great variety of attack patterns. The story is excellent (but super sad with moments of levity). Probably a 30-60 hour time investment depending on how much side stuff you want to explore.

Story and atmosphere seemed really great, yes. Sadly the combat wasn't my cup of tea at all, otherwise I definitely would have completed it.

I tried a bit (a couple of hours) thanks to Game Pass :)
The story/characters/writing/art style were great (for the little I played) but there are two gameplay designs I can't stand, sadly.
I love turn-based combats, but I really (really, really) hate QTE. Even if on paper it looked interesting, when playing it simply annoyed me. And probably the worst, enemies respawning which entirely kill my fun to explore.

Yeah if your not at least okay with QTEs, your likely to find the combat tedious. I found the rhythm of it add some spice to the turn based system and thought the windows were just large enough to avoid being annoying.

QUICK TIME EVENTS???!!! "oh no, oh god oh god no..."
The rest of the game look great. But I am just too particular about sword combat. Unfortunately that keeps me from finishing a lot of good games like the Witcher. I am not as stubborn about gun combat so I can still enjoy most Single Player FPS. I want a new Max Payne so bad.

Yes, I hate QTE, it's terrible... A bit sad because I like turn-based combats:sad:
I'll always remember the Yakuza games in which there are quite a lot of mini-games with QTE (like karaoke), I simply put down the controller and just wait for it to be over. Best score > 0
