I'm trying out Wuthering Waves for the first time, mainly for this Cyberpunk Edgerunners collab. I recently claimed Rebecca and now I'm hoping I can pull Lucy. lol
The game is surprisingly fun and beautiful. (a ton of reading and dialogue exchange in between story missions) The music is also sublime.
They did a really great job with the Cyberpunk presentations and I love that they brought in the original VA for Rebecca and Lucy. So this is what I'm currently playing. Eventually, I will be facing Smasher. I just have to level up a little more.

Tried out the game "One Turn Kill" which is a card game about beating bosses using combos in a single turn.
Sadly I ended up refunding it after an hour as it felt kind of repetitive. As it revolved around fighting the same 4 bosses with the same gimmicks over and over which meant I had no incentive to change my deck after I found one that beat them (Ended up beating them all 4 times and there was still no change besides "They have more health")
Currently just got the games Alice: Madness Returns and Minoria off Steam.
Alice: Madness Returns is a fairly old game at this point, an action platformer that I've been meaning to play for a while. Which I picked up because it's on sale for under £2 right now.
Minoria is an indie Metroidvania (From the makers of Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight which I also have, though don't recall if I've played). Will see how it goes, indie metroidvania's tend to be hit or miss from my experience (I've had some hits that I loved like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree and Ender Lilies. But I've also had plenty of misses that just weren't enjoyable)

Still running through a new round of Rogue Trader. My awaiting list is too long: Black Flag next month, Star Wars Zero Company the month after, GTA 6 in November, then Expanse, Exodus, Total War 40k which turns out to be farther along than I thought, TW4, and then we'll see what's on the horizon after that.
Same except for GTA.
The beginning of 2027 will be packed with great games... Especially February

I'm playing RDR2, Resident Evil: Village, and the original Metal Gear Solid 3!
I tried to give RDR2 a second chance, but it didn't go well. I got annoyed really fast by too many different controls and somehow super clumsy/slow walking character. I would have wanted to play it, since the game has been highly praised and it did look good, but apparently the gameplay wasn't for me. If anyone has any tips for surviving with these annoyances, I could probably still give it a third chance, some day. But for now, I'm done with it.
Now I got Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, since it was on sale and it did look like a decent game for casual exploring. Reviews didn't promise much for the story and characters, but I got it purely for eye candy. Pandora really does look amazing and at least so far the gameplay and other stuff is at "good enough" level. If you have seen those Avatar movies, you pretty much know what to get storywise. Let's see how it goes. I'm still not expecting any mind blowing experiences with this, but I just needed something new to play while waiting for Dawnwalker, Fable and official Valheim release.
Now I got Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, since it was on sale and it did look like a decent game for casual exploring. That's my biggest issue with Rockstar games un general. Arthur is like a truck, slow, unwieldy and in the camp it's even more terrible... A shame since, overall, the game is great.

I was really struggling to find my way out from the first friendly base I had to google how to progress in that quest where you have to jump down from the cliff next to a campfire. Even after Googling it, I had difficulties to believe that I actually have to jump down from there
Lake or not. Not to mention the struggles I had to even get there. I somehow completely missed the hint with butterflies, that it should work with every quest. Not just with the first skill point one.
I'm enjoying Black Flag Resynced so far, but I'm only a couple of hours into it. Matt Ryan sounds so much like Tim Downie that I keep thinking I'm playing as Gale the Pirate.I'm so happy to be back in caraïbean sea

RDR2 is beautiful, but I never managed to get more than about half the way through it. Unlike RDR1, I can't find a way to justify the character I'm forced to play. Avatar is a beautiful game, but I also only made it half way through that one. The gameplay just never managed to click for me.
That's a pretty good representation of what the game looks like running with everything maxxed out at 4k.
I would love if Bioware would one day, mind making this kind of remaster for the Mass Effect Trilogy. It would be amazing...

Replaying Witcher 3 again and in Blood & Wine, i just yesterday did the La Cage Au Fou quest and noticed some striking similarities to Resident Evil with the spotted wight segment, first of all the whole location of a spooky mansion deep in a forest is like the spencer mansion in Arklay forest.
Then the Stained Diary you find briefly chronicles Marlene turning into the wight, like the Keeper's Diary chronicling a guy's transformation into the itchy tasty zombie. And lastly Geralt hides in a cupboard and emerges to confront the wight, like the itchy tasty zombie hides an a wardrobe to ambush the player in RE1 c:

Anyone still at OG Delta Force?
I've been at it from 1999 or so. Now even the year number is weird to type, leaves me wondering if that's the actual year I was alive in. Also, it's amazing the game still plays. Essentially bought it twice, but totally worth it.
It was one of the first open world-esque games I've encountered, and I remember distinctly how disorienting that was.

Okay, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is fun. After a bit sticky start I have been really enjoying the game. After one point in the story exploration becomes much easier. The game is beautiful and combat/weapons has some nice variety. Going stealth whenever I can, of course Apparently there is also an option to go in guns blazing, if you wish to do so. You can mix and match with two kinds of bows, assault riffle, shotgun, spear thrower and some kind of trap throwing thingy (forgot the name). 4 of these can be quick slotted.
I guess nothing in this game is exceptionally amazing (except graphics...), but it seems to be enjoyable for average gamer, who wants to enjoy the scenery and do some exploring (story and characters are still bit meh). Map is huge and there are lot of points of interest, but you can probably just skip many of them (few are somewhat obligatory, though), if not feeling interested. I think you can also pretty much streamline from combat to combat, if you want to see more action than map markers. Personally I keep derailing away form quests all the time, when going after every map marker I can find
I have been playing this with easy difficulty, so not sure how the game works in harder difficulties, but there seems to be a lot of options to tweak your weapons and gear. I guess those will get more meaning in harder difficulties. Haven't tried the co-op mode at all, so can't say anything about it, but it's there. No idea how it works, though.
Overall, very positive surprise for a summer sale game. Apparently I'm currently around mid story, so still a lot of things to do. Eventually we will see if I get the expansions too, or not.
Edit: Only major downside so far has been the game totally freezing my entire PC after some hours of playing. Haven't found a fix for it yet. On the other hand, the game works perfectly fine if I'm not playing too many hours on a row.
