What happen whith Xbox One

Hi guys.

I 'm reading a lot of things about this game, but all I have read it's about the PC version, and the hands-on review was focus also in PS4.
But what happen with Xbox One???

I would like to see a really recent gameplay of xbox one, and read an article of impresions about the hands-on session on Xbox one.

And any opinion of the development about the Xbox one's game among this forum's member.

And, finally, are any spanish's member in this forum??? I would like to speak in a spanish thread about the game, because i speak inglish very baddddd.

God I need this game nowwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!! wuuuuuuu yeahhhh woouuuuu :animier:

Well, the info about how TW3 plays on different platforms is unfortunately scattered around all the previews. You might want to start here if you want to dig trough them to find something specific(but I wouldn't really expect too much): http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/33354-Interviews-and-Articles-2015

And the Spanish speaking part of the forum is here: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/16579-SPAIN-The-Witcher-(Comunidad-HISPANA)

The Xbox One version hasn't gotten a lot of attention. One review team that did get to play it is here: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/33442-The-GameStar-Hands-On-Session-Technical-Matters-and-First-Impressions

It played competently at 900p. CDPR is trying to get it to 1080p, but no promises.

It can't do the advanced lighting and shading that the PC version can do. It's not even equal to the PS4 in those respects. So the game looks a bit washed-out by comparison on the Xbox One.

So, I opened this here preview up by saying that the delay was nothing but a good thing, although I’m yet to justify that. Okay, let me do so. In short, The Witcher 3 at times was a bit of a letdown from a technical perspective. On multiple occasions we experienced clipping issues, frame-rate drops and screen tearing, which could be cause for concern had the game not been delayed by three months.

Don’t get us started on the horse either, who liked to get stuck in any and every tree as we ventured off-road in an attempt to get to our location quicker. The game itself was beautiful, and when it worked, it worked, but there were far too many moments for our liking where the experience was marred by the tech itself. That’s why we fully believe that those extra three months are just exactly what the doctor ordered.

As it stands, The Witcher 3 is an unpolished gem. A gem that is clearly going to benefit from being held back for a polish up to the nines. While perfectly functional now, and in parts, completely brilliant, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at this stage is still a bit rough around the edges. While we fully expect CD Projekt RED to smooth off those edges and see to all the technical issues in the next three months, if they can revisit and refine the open-world horse controls as well, 2015 could have one of its shining lights before the halfway point of the year is up. If they don’t, get ready to fast-travel… a lot!

Thank you very much for the info.

I hope the final version of the witcher 3 for Xbox will be greater than the Ps4. I know that they won't be like the Pc version, but I hope that the Xbox version doesn't stink.
You think that the diference betwien Ps4 and Xbox is big?

I've written on it elsewhere. Yes, there is a big difference, due to the smaller graphics processor on the Xbox. PS4 is comparable to a 7850, slightly below the minimum requirement for PC. Xbox is comparable to a 7770, well below the minimum (and, significantly, 16 ROPs to the PS4's 32).

None of the versions "stink". It's just that, if you want your crapsack medieval world all spit-and-polish shiny, that's only on the PC. And the Xbox may still play more smoothly at 900p than the PS4 at 1080p.

It won't. Unless CDPR messes something up, the console with the better hardware (PS4) will be superior.

I think this is why CDPR is always very careful to say that all versions will be the same and portray their differences as "small". If they were out there saying "this is better", this is worst" it gives the impression that a particular version "stinks" and that its a crappy port. When the truth is that, while it may not look as good, its still a great version of the game.

I was thinking this as well. It's not the PC vs console debate, it's the Sony vs MS debate, and game sites and journos are more than willing to stoke the fire. In this regard, I can't blame then.

edit- thought I was in a different thread.

Honestly, I feel a bit bad for our Xbro friends. I originally got into this series because of the 360 version of TW2, and I imagine that part of the fanbase played a pretty significant part in the success of the franchise and the fact that it became big enough to warrant a third installment with the scope of TW3. And now it looks like they'll get the weakest version of the game, at least in terms of the visuals. It's not CDPR's fault that the X1 is the weakest of the three platforms of course, but in terms of the history of the series, it's kind of a shame.

Course I didn't even bother to get an X1, I preordered the game on GOG, got a new graphics card specifically for this game, and preordered the PS4 CE for the swag even though I doubt I'll ever play that version unless I lose my mind and decide I have to platinum it.

*cough*

They already had the "weakest" version of TW2 and the graphical difference between TW2 on PC and on Xbox360 was much, much bigger than anything you can expect for TW3. And since the differences are really not that big in TW3 (actually, they are kind of small), it's not really a shame imo.

But since we're speaking about shame: how about PC gamers who made TW2 and TW3 possible in the first place by being the core audience for both TW1 and TW2? They don't get the "maximum" anymore because that wouldn't run on consoles and CDPR apparently has only time and manpower to do one basic version for all platforms.

So what's the real "shame"? That Xbox gamers get the best version that is humanly possible on their platform or that PC gamers get a version that could theoretically have been better but isn't because the game also has to run on consoles?

Just sayin... ;)

It is worth mentioning that most of the hands on demos we did in San Francisco were on Xbox One. So most of the reviews from North America were likely done on Xboxes. We haven't been excluding Xbox at all. :)

That's purely abstract pondering though, isn't it? In the real world the colossal enterprise called The Wither 3 could only be undertaken by REDs precisely because roughly the same game was to be developed for PC, Xbox One and PS4. Otherwise it wouldn't even have made it past the MS word draft.

Yes and no.

Almost every AAA game I've played in the past months for example offered "ultra" textures just for PC (Shadow of Mordor, Dragon Age Inquisition, AC Unity,..). According to CDPR that won't be the case for TW3, at least at release. So no, your theory that games don't get approval by console manufacturers if they don't offer parity is just wrong. It's an urban myth. Reality is that MS and Sony want to have as many games on their console as possible. It's kind of ridiculous to think that MS would show CDPR the door just because they said that they would offer even better textures and visuals on PC. That would be the same thing as just throwing money into the chimney...

But don't get me wrong, I'm not mad at CDPR or demand anything. I just say that if we talk about something like "shame" at all, PC gamers are imo the bigger "victims" than Xbox gamers ;)

You misunderstood me. I'm saying the viability of the enterprise is inextricably tied to the fact roughly the same game is being developed across all platforms, not that Sony or Microsoft have or would have pressured REDs into nerfing the PC version for the sake of forced parity. The reality is it was to be either this way or no way at all. And I'd rather have TW3 playing on my system in three months than not. Besides we know nothing about Ultra.

I'm glad Xbox One gamers are getting TW3. More dough to reinvest in CP2077.

I didn't know it. I will read a xbox reviewfrom North America.

I would like to see a hands-on gameplay video of the xbox one in the future to see the difference betwien the Pc version and the xbox one version.
If the final version of the xbox one game is similar than the gameplay video of hands-on, I will be very very very happy.

I think that this is the best game that I've ever seen. I only hope that the xbox one version looks grate even so.

That's true, but for the 360's standards, the game still looked fantastic. What actually bothered me more than anything at the time was the obviously compressed audio. Not that I ever went back to the 360 once I started playing the game on PC or anything, but it was one of the best looking games on that console ever.

As for the rest of your post, no offense, dude, but Dragonbird specifically asked us not to get into the downgrade conspiracy theories again when that thread got locked, and you'll have to find some other 12 year-old to play platform war. I'm just saying the series has a history on Xbox, and it doesn't on Playstation. I won't be playing either console version of TW3, so you're barking up the wrong tree.

Ok, but that has nothing to do with what I've said or meant. I never said that I have anything against the game being released for Xbox as well...

And we do know that there won't be better models or textures on PC. Adam clearly stated that. "Ultra" on PC will only influence such things as AA, shaders, lighting and certain special nvida stuff like hairworks and fur animation.

First of all, the downgrade discussion and the platform discussion are two entirely different issues. I never talked about a possible downgrade here at all. I'm also not barking at you and I honestly don't want to start any war or something like that, I've just mentioned that I don't think that there is any "shame" involving Xbox gamers since they obviously get the best version possible on their platform (as it was the case with TW2). So just relax and don't come up with "12 year old" rhetorics. They are not needed here. ;)

Moderator: Topic of the thread was stated by the OP. It is restricted to Xbox One and performance of The Witcher 3 on Xbox One. Comparisons to other hardware are on topic only so far as they are in support of statements that are on topic.

Claims concerning a supposed downgrade of the PC, including claims about the intent of the "one build" approach or the parity of textures and other resources, are strictly off topic here.
