What happened to Triss's voice?

So i spend a month fixing the graphics, and as a reward finally go see triss and she somehow sounds like a cheap american tv show?

/sad

Just compared it to witcher 2, and triss yes its the same voice actor but she sounds classy and in place. Witcher 3 shes really offensive and doesn't fit in.

If this was done for microsoft and consoles and some possible customer base... guess what everyone who listens to the english voice over speaks english.

I'm so disappointed. Feels like cdpr weren't in control of themselves for some parts of development at least.

Don't agree personally. Thought she sounded great just as she did in TW2.

what exactly makes you believe she sounds cheap? For me her voice sounds just like before?
I mean if you feels so disappointed then there must be some major change, but there isn't.

Tbh I had the same reaction upon first meeting her, like some of her lines when interacting with the guy who needs to deliver a package don't sound too good... it improves vastly in all the rest of the game... Had the same impression on my second playthrough too.

Can't agree with the OP, the voice acting is at it's best in Witcher 3, all around.

Yeah same here. I think the problem was direction. Some of the lines just don't sound natural or don't fit well to what's happening. Like you said though, it improves drastically shortly thereafter so it's not a problem in regards to the Voice Actress or anything.

I think maybe the OP was upset that her demeanor wasn't as suggestive and flirtatious as she was in the Witcher 2. She's more "all business", though does have moments where they discuss their past. I guess it's more of a tone issue than a semantic issue. I personally thought she was fine as is.

Well, it can't be that easy. I mean the VA is in the box and they script says, deliver this line with the following feelings:

Sad about your whole situation in Novigrad
Nostalgic about Geralt
Happy that you are seeing him
Sad about the fact that you broke up
All business like in front of the supplier
Pissed off about him not delivering
Remember you are still a nice girl

OP doesn't like voice acting in TW3, blames consoles. I'll be laughing for the rest of the evening, thanks.

Anyway, I thought the actress who does Triss in the English version is probably the one who made the biggest improvement compared to the last game - her performance in TW2 sounded awkward and phoned-in, and now she's actually believable.

The VA has improved a lot in TW3 so I'm not sure what you are talking about

So a little more awake.. yes, shes got a slightly different and stronger american accent (you can get used to this it seems), but what caused the shock is shes got a higher level of hyperactivity in her voice, like a host of a kids show or a cartoon.

I understand this may be normal for many people playing w3, so it doesn't register as abnormal, but some people do not watch these shows every day, and its an odd difference if you paid attention to her voice and character in w2.

And yes i blame everything on consoles. On pc their creative director would have been less pressured to consider childrens tv shows as an influence :p
