What happens if the new game like cyberpunk 2 online?

Honestly, I highly doubt CDPR will ever make the first Cyberpunk 2077 completely free, even after the sequel (Project Orion) drops or if it gets an online mode.
Look at games like The Witcher 3 or GTA V—even though they are quite old now and their companies have newer projects, they still don't give them away for free permanently. Instead, they just put them on massive 70-80% off sales during Steam or PlayStation events. Cyberpunk 2077 actually still makes CD Projekt Red a ton of money, especially after the 2.0 update and the Phantom Liberty DLC.
Also, just a heads up, the next Cyberpunk game is still several years away from release, so the original game is going to stay a premium paid title for a long time. The best bet is just waiting for the next big seasonal holiday sale to grab it cheap.

I also think it’s pretty impossible that they’ll make 2077 free: it’s just not a feasible business model (ok unless they filled it with microtransactions and we definitely don’t want that)

And you can go look other corpos that prove that: gta online didn’t make gta IV or san andreas free, so why would cdpr do something so unprecedented?
