What If Lucy Was the One to Save V? (Alternative Ending / DLC Idea) [Spoiler Warning]

+
I’ve been thinking a lot about how Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners could naturally cross paths — and one idea keeps coming back to me:

What if Lucy was the one who saved V?

Here’s how it could work:

  • Lucy’s Motivation:
After the events of Edgerunners, Lucy has the skills, connections, and motivation to take on dangerous jobs — especially when it comes to dismantling Arasaka’s plans. In some endings, V becomes famous for the Arasaka heist, so it’s not far-fetched that Lucy could learn about them.
  • The Setup:
In a potential DLC or alternative ending, just before V’s fate is sealed (whether through the biochip or the “point of no return”), Lucy reaches out — encrypted message, ghost trace, maybe even through mutual contacts like Rogue. She proposes a workaround: not just removing the chip, but splitting V and Johnny so both can survive.
  • The Twist:
Imagine an ending where Johnny gets V’s old body, and V wakes up in a new one — something only possible through a combination of Lucy’s netrunning skills and the right biotech crew she knows how to find in Night City.
From there, you could branch the story:
    • V leaves Night City with Lucy.
    • V stays in Night City while Lucy finally leaves for good.
    • Or you choose between helping Lucy or staying with the Afterlife crew.

Why I think it could work:

Night City is all about connections. If anyone could find the right people to pull this off, it’s Lucy — and pairing her with V/Johnny would open so many emotional and narrative possibilities, especially for players who loved Edgerunners.

What do you all think? Could this fit into the world without breaking canon?

Would you want to see Lucy and V actually meet in an official story?

I think its a cool concept except Lucy goes to the moon at the end of cyberpunk edgerunners as far as im aware so I dont know how v would meet Lucy aside from going to the moon but i think it would be cool if Lucy reached out like song bird offering to try and help, maybe make davids jacket an item that could be used to get Lucy to help showing that Falco trusted you so Lucy should they could make an alternate ending where you collect items from davids crew like rebecca's shotgun, davids jacket, maines arm cannon and clothing from other crew members go to the moon and Lucy helps then just like every other ending you get to keep them once the ending is over

I mean, David, Jackie, V and TBug could all be hanging out at the Makoshi data fortress for all we know. Doesn't seem like a fast stretch Lucy will end up saving everyone, since it's all located in space.

I'd prefer if Lucy never, ever returns to that hellhole thay is NC. That's precisely what made David's sacrifice not be in vain.

I mean I agree Here's mine

After the events of Edgerunners, Lucy survives on the moon. However, she requires closure for the Blackwall project that she was destined for after the Arasaka fall. Then,V is informed by Falco (who survives as well but parts with Lucy),now a fixer, to stop the onslaught of Rouge AIs entering from the Old Net and the remnants of Arasaka. This also opens up as, V gains her trust, a romance path akin to Panam's.Act 1 is them meeting and planning to hijack Arasaka's interstellar data site.Act 2 is surviving gigs to uncover packages and information that allows them to crack the ICE of the files. The final act ends with the physical and net destruction of ALL Blackwall children files and data however it activates a bomb splitting Lucy and V apart however, they manage to reunite on the moon finally fulfilling her dream

The Arasaka remnants are led by a liquid metal cyberware using enemy immune to cyberpsychosis however is highly vulnerable to anti gravity from the cyberskeleton meaning david Martinez could have beaten him but not Adam Smasher. This also introduces Liquid metal Cyberware upgrades and also weapons.
