What if ..... open discusion

Respectful game developers and witcher fans I took the liberty to ask some questions and I excpect some feed back from you if you see my way of thinking worthy to comment.
In witcher 2 when Geralt finish his quests in one city. Wouldn't be nice to have some quest what will make him come back to that city after fulfilling some minor quests in other cities. To make some city beautiful as Flotsam or Vergen with that environment is quite a tale maybe thousands of hours of work are spent there, so my questions are when so much effort is used there why not use the same place for other adventures in witcher storylane ? (I never read the books and maybe this is not lore friendly) for example Geralt can go back in Flotsam to deal with some plague and help citizens again after obtaining the cure formula in chapter 3. In current story line i don't see place for such thing bcz all of his company moves with him to other place bcz they are all quest progress related , but what if Geralt could make friends with his deeds for example the village chief near Flotsam. Kinda miss the roaming free in forest arround the city. I want to point you that in this way you can reuse certain places areas of the map that are already finish with design only thing is to add some lines to NPC characters and minor environmental changes (unlocking new paths), also I want to encourage people who are dedicated to create something with redkit to consider this. Working traders who can give quests to Geralt can be found at Flotsam city square, near harbor area etc. Maybe players will want Geralt to settle down (house, farm) or travel from city to city helping people and do some higher cause quest during that time possibilities ends with our fantasy. Reusing some parts of the map will be with less effort = cheaper than build entire new place from scratch. I hope you will find my thoughts constructive in your future games

I understand your point and I agree that, to some extent, free roaming would open up interesting possibilities, but only if it's done like in Baldur's Gate II or Fallout 1 & 2 (where you can alter the order of things, accept a massive amount of open ended quests, etc., but all or most of them are meaningful). Definitely not like an Elder Scrolls game.

However...

Remember Geralt is a WITCHER! He is not a knight errant or a hero. He has no reason to go around helping random people.

TW2's story is fast paced and you're not supposed to go "back" to towns because it doesn't make sense. There is a sense of urgency, people are dying, the kingdoms are on the edge of war and Geralt is accused of murder. Doesn't sound like a good scenario to be doing random fetch quests or helping random farmers.

This makes hopeful and happy that I probably won't see loads of 'I lost my Grandma's necklace in the Unforgiving Cave of Hellish Python-Bears, would be a gent and fetch it for me?'... those are just ridiculous
