What is the fun in playing Nilfgaard?

+
It's fun to win, which is easy to do with NG. But not fun to play against NG because it's just so OP.

I especially hate that almost all ranked matches are against NG now, because, everyone knows how easy it is to win with them.

Round 1:
Masquerade

Round 2:
Reshuffle masquerade

Round 3:
Masquerade again

It's disappointing that this combo hasn't been nerfed yet. The game isn't fun in ranked play. 😑

Nilfgard can be fun if you prefer control decks. most decks relay on 1 or 2 win conditions but nilfgard " apart from the stupid poison" relays on answering your opponent rather than going for a win condition. and nilfgard weakness is swarms. because nilfgard relays heavily on a single target removals so swarms will get out of control 90% of the times

It's even less fun in unranked. What's really obnoxious, though, is how Caretaker got reworked SPECIFICALLY to stop scenario replay, and the deck that abused it the most was the one that was allowed to keep it (thanks to Assire).

Yeah, but at least I don't have to put up with it in unranked. I forfeit as soon as I draw a NG player. It's my own form of protest until NG can get balanced out.

I hear you. I like playing all types of builds, control included. But just about all other factions have some possible control build that can be put together (NR to a lesser extent unless you consider siege machines clearing out the ranged row), without them becoming obnoxious. I can understand NG being a specialist faction for control, but my goodness!

Double play of scenario is mostly a problem FOR Nilfgaard. It gives the impression the faction overall is stronger than it really is. Which is preventing some dire boosts to some units.

Furthermore NG double scenario is not really more problematic in this game than scenario in general.

I'm not sure it can be defined as a "problem" if it's favorable, if so I'd like to have that problem lol Scenarios are a mess sure...however you can recover far more easily from some more than others. Double ball is definitely more problematic than scenarios on a whole. In fact I see very few scenarios being played currently in other factions because there are other more powerful plays dominating the game. NG is unique in that they have those alternative plays in addition to Scenarios. Can you honestly say that before Scenarios were introduced that NG wasn't still dominating?

NG really makes me want to just leave the game sometimes, and I'm sure I'm not alone. To be sure, we all have to play it ourselves sometimes just to learn it, but it's really become the one faction I will usually refuse to GG whether I win, lose, or draw against it. I "get" the fact that it's purposely written into the game that way, but I'm not sure that's a good thing for the game.

I love playing Nilgard. I beat them more than any other faction. In fact, in about 30 games today, 3 of my 4 wins have been against them.

Hope that helps.

You know what's worse?

Lippy Decks which play "Triple Gedyneith".

BTW: I actually like to play Nilfgaard. Not the current super boring Poison/Lock-Decks of the current Meta, but the old Nilfgaard. With no other faction it is possible to play a pure Witcher deck. Or a pure Mage deck, etc.
The unfortunate part about is that if you play Witchers, Gwent will 80% match you up playing against Monsters. Such a thing never happened with other decks...

I really have come to hate NG decks. The past two days I have been playing 90% of the decks I meet are NG. I win some and lose some. But it is just not any fun playing against double-ball literary all the time.

Love when I meet a spy-deck or a mill deck (or not really, but it is at least different from poison NG).

Then tech more against it. People don't so NG wins. And ppl will always wanna win and climb in ranks. If more ppl countered double Ball, it wouldn't be so popular.

That's a rather simple response to a complicated problem. More often that not changing your entire deck to counter double ball means tunnel vision and losing to other factions outside NG. That's why it's considered unbalanced

Fun is subcjetive. I actually like to play against NG. Forces you to play gambits. And few things in Gwent feel better than bombing a Ball.
