In regard to the first post in this thread; I cannot resist saying that trying to determine which video card to buy based on other peoples setups is about as accurate as throwing darts at pictures of video cards on the wall.CPU types, RAM types/amount, drivers, other programs running, so many , many factors determine frame rates at any given moment. Buy the best card you can for the money you have, is usually the formula for getting the best frame rates you can.No two PC's perform the same, even with the same video card in them.Just a side note about fraps; when fraps is running, the resources it uses to run itself detract from the game performance and the true frame rates your machine is capable of. A tip: I use a very good program called "End it All" before I play any game. It shuts down any running programs or processes that are using up CPU or RAM resources, and you may not even realize they are slowing down your game. I can bring up the task manager (Alt+Tab+Delete) and it may tell me nothing is running; but I can run End it All, and it will say "Just shut down 14 out of 16 programs". Give it a try. Perfectly safe and stable. Works great. Google "End it all".
