My System:AMD 64X2 4600+2GB RAM8800GTS 320MB OC video card8800GTS 320MB OC video card (SLI VIDEO)Windows Vista Home premium.Game runs smooth if I turn shadows down to low or off (which ever is the lowest) and actually game runs the smoothest if I just let the game adjust everything and choose medium settings. I don't know what FPS Im getting as I've not bothered to reinstall Fraps since installing vista from scratch. But if I had to guess, (which isn't too hard to do after playing multitudes of games) I'd have to say on medium Im probably getting close to about 30-35fps around towns, and probably 35 to 45 out in the woods. I've never been lucky enough to see fps of 70+ in any of the games that I play even though I've got some good video cards, enough ram in my system.

I got as follows for my playing machine:Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @2,13GHz2 GB DDR2 RAM GeForce 8800 GTX (ForceWare Version: 169,04)Screen Solution is 1680 X 1050, 32 Bit Color, TFT Screen 60 HertzAnd the Framerate is between 37 and 45 (Fraps) while fighting & roaming the area.During movie sequences its 55 or more ...Can't say I noticed any performance break down - I run everything in the game at maximumI had a while ago SLI and 4 GB RAM but my system didn't like that too much ;-) but next year I buy myself a new compy.

Greetings!I have an AGP based system, Mobo: GIGABYTE GA8S-655FX(-L) Rev 1.O CPU: INTEL PENTIUM 4 3.0 Ghz with HT MEMORY: 2GB DDR1 at 400 Mhz. VIDEO CARD: GECUBE ATI RADEON HD 2600 PRO 512MB DDR 2. SOUND CARD: CREATIVE LABS AUDIGY 2 RETAIL HARD DISCS: WD IDE, SEAGATE FREE AGENT(USB EXTERNAL) I'm running the game at 1024x768 with all settings maxed out.I don't know my exact frame rates, but the only area I'm currently having slide show and halt problems in in ACT II, Merchant Quarter, which is the area I apparently have the most memory dump crashes because of.Loading times are between tenty to thirty seconds. :) Thank you, Kind Regards, Menicus.

Does anyone know if there is an in-game FPS tool? I don't have the game yet but I plan to buy it any day now. I'm wondering how my computer will perform with this game. I plan to build a new quadcore dx10 PC next fall but for now all I have is my laptop.1.86ghz Pentium M Dothan (in single threaded games it seems to be equivalent to 3ghz P4)2gb DDR2 533mhz6800 256mbI ran Oblivion roughly 25-30fps avg on a mix of low and medium with HDR on 0xaa at 1440x900

In regard to the first post in this thread; I cannot resist saying that trying to determine which video card to buy based on other peoples setups is about as accurate as throwing darts at pictures of video cards on the wall.CPU types, RAM types/amount, drivers, other programs running, so many , many factors determine frame rates at any given moment. Buy the best card you can for the money you have, is usually the formula for getting the best frame rates you can.No two PC's perform the same, even with the same video card in them.Just a side note about fraps; when fraps is running, the resources it uses to run itself detract from the game performance and the true frame rates your machine is capable of. A tip: I use a very good program called "End it All" before I play any game. It shuts down any running programs or processes that are using up CPU or RAM resources, and you may not even realize they are slowing down your game. I can bring up the task manager (Alt+Tab+Delete) and it may tell me nothing is running; but I can run End it All, and it will say "Just shut down 14 out of 16 programs". Give it a try. Perfectly safe and stable. Works great. Google "End it all".

People have mentioned that before in other game forums, and one game (can't honestly remember the name of it) finally introduced an in game fps counter in one of their patches, it turned out that both Fraps and their new ingame counter showed the same fps for that game indicating that fraps was both accurate and that it wasn't taking away any real noticible performance from that game. However, Im quite sure that when someone measures a loss of FPS in terms of 1 fps, then perhaps there is some sort of performance hit, but for myself I wouldn't consider 1 fps a performance hit in a game, if it stole 5 or 10 fps then that is a performance hit in my opinion. If I could only get 20fps and fraps stole away 5, then that would be a problem IMO, but if I could only get 20 and fraps took 1, then no biggie, if I can only manage to get 15 to start with, and fraps steals 1, or 5 then I need a new video card anyway ;)
