Hey thanks for the thoughtful answer! I romanced Yen and Triss (not in the same playthrough) and I can understand why Geralt fits the bill for the most part, but I'm curious to see what another man could offer her.
These qualities you listed would definitely be on her list and I like how the game sort of alludes to that as well. She is indeed insecure, it shows in how she tosses the bed out the window and how she'll bite the head of any woman who so much as looks his way. And she's been hurt in the past (her childhood, Geralt running away, being raised at Aretuza, etc) heck it'd be a miracle if anyone came out of that 100% whole. I think her projected confidence definitely weeds out the weak and challenges the powerful.
I'd like to pick your brains regarding outside of personality characteristics as well. Do you think Yen could love someone who is poor? Or would she want a man who could sustain himself? Would she trust someone who's breaking the law? Or would she seek someone ambivalent at best like Geralt? Heck, what is her own disposition regarding law and order?
I ask this because while I loved my Geralt and Yen ending, I didn't buy the part where:
Did I misunderstand her character? I thought she loved that sort of thing and all the headaches it comes with.

Lol, yes Yen is not for everybody. I remember my first play through practically grinding my teeth every time she ordered Geralt or someone else around. But over time she grew on me, I saw how nuanced she is as a woman and I wish we had more adventures to understand why. I'd love to read a book about her time being a prisoner.
