Actually that sounds like the perfect amount/way to do it. Not too intrusive, and pretty good for paying respects to the series.
What I have in mind couldn't be considered as a secret... but maybe as some kind of nod or easter egg. I'd like for Night City to be recreated in a way that we, not only have a map that resembles the ones provided in the PnP sourcebooks, but that also reflects the illustrations. I'd like to be able to stand in exactly the same spot as this guy in the cover of the Night City sourcebook and feel like I'm in that place. It will have changed somehow in all this time, but I'd like for it to retain its essence... kinda like as if it was the cyberpunk equivalent of Times Square. And I'd also like for it not to be exclusively reserved for really iconic covers, but also for interior art.
I am 99.9% sure CDPR will include Ciri easter egg into the game since she mentioned cyberpunk reality in W3
