There are lots of songs that make me cry. Here's one that does that lately. For quite a long time I thought it's too "pop" and cheesy.

Here I go quoting something from a year ago, but anyway: I agree with your choice. My aerobics instructor used to play it as a 'cooldown' song and it's such an emotional song. I love pop music and don't think all of it is bad (sure, the trite, vapid, money-grabbing tracks are, but that's beside the point). Adele is far above the 'regular' pop.

As for me, I find Fear Not This Night from Guild Wars 2 melancholy and sad. It's hard to put into words, it's simply a beautiful track, one of Soule's best.

This song reduces me to tears every damn time. The melancholia is just too much to bear. Especially when you think of the context. It's from an amazing movie called The Fountain and it plays while we see our hero contemplate his solitude. He's alone but there'a glimmer of hope that he won't be. Perhaps if he reaches his destination, happiness can blossom once more.

Fuck, it's so amazing it hurts.

Common songs can be a great thing, but on the other hand, it is dangerous to associate a favourite song with someone and then have it ruined, when things don't work out.

This song still makes me feel emotional, simply because it's such a beautiful song and because the scene which this song played in was so emotional.

And I didn't even care all that much for Rose. It's just that with proper acting and setting the mood with such awesome music really is capable of hitting a sensitive spot in me.

A little history to provide some context.

My girlfriend and I had been good friends for a couple of years when we started dating 2 years and a half ago. After we started going out we always said how we came to see each other in a very different way than the way we saw each other when we were just friends.
For our first anniversary she burned a CD with a .ppt with some pictures of the two of us and this song as background music:

I didn´t even know the song, but it really hit me. Now I can´t listen to it without crying. Even simply looking for it in youtube brought tears to my eyes, lol!
