For a full price though, it always makes me realise how much content RPG's often deliver.

Agreed. It's quite amazing how your typical RPG can go for 20+ hours (some double that or more) whereas most other games are like 10.

Seems like I was wrong then. Although I do not consider Metacritic as a Bible, it shows an unseemly 61 score. Meh.

Wow, that is pretty abysmal. I am so glad I did not loose my mind completely and didn't buy X1 just to play this game. I'll pick it up when it is $10 tops, probably in a couple of years.

ryse looks like a typical console game for 15 year olds.

I just made a account, just for say that casual gamers like you has ruined an entire generation of games and please, stay with your lack of sense of opinion for yourself, this is just a terrible idea.

Corporate greed. That's the biggest issue in gaming today.

Blaming individual gamers is pointless.

Videogames. Where the fault a product is bad lies with its users.

Always remember: base your opinion not on trailers, but the actual game.

It should be common sense, but judging by the amount of kiddies who go "OMFG, CINEMATIK = BEST" on the basis of a TRAILER designed to give you a polished piece of PR, instead of actual hands-on gameplay..... well I hope those people learned their lesson and commit sudoku in shame

Anyway... Despite all the "hate" expressed on this thread, after watching some combat gameplay I do think that animations, light system, along with facial expressions are among the best I've ever seen in a videogame.

Boring and repetitive gameplay? ok... Let's pick what's good about this game, it's like a tech demo. There are some finishers in the combat that are worth considering. I mean, look at that camera use and body movement. You just can't say it isn't weel done.

I can agree on it being a worthwhile tech demo and it showing how to do proper lighting and movement, but that is about it. Ryse fails as a full priced game and it is available as just that, it makes me feel sorry if somebody chose Ryse as their only launch game.

Yeah, who cares that the game is dreadful if the graphics are pretty and animations are ok, right?

Man, you lack attention... I said " ok the overall game is crap, but the technical aspect is good " .. Conclusion? I hope TW3 will feature the same (or even better) visuals plus an awesome story and gameplay.

I think that cdpr should craft the game with graphics and technologies that suits their game best, and don't worry about witcher3 graphics, they proved that they are capable to deliver one of the best in the industry. There is no hope for cdpr using cryengine anyway so that idea fly through the window.

Proof is in the pudding. A slice is being served on the /th.

CDProjekt said they're working on facial animations and a new mimics system. OP, wouldn't you rather have a look at it first and see how it compares to Ryse's?

To brighten up the afternoon:
