What would Fix the game for you?

+
we waited 8 years, is this what you expected?

I have to say that this is a bare shell of what I expected.

what would fix the game for you? in your honest opinion?

Honestly...? A complete overhaul. I'm not sure it can be fixed at this point.

what could the red devs add/remove/fix in this game it make it better?

The game runs fine on my machine; I don't really give a damn about bugs. For me, the issue is all of the content that's been cut, the features shown but neither in the game nor publicly and explicitly retracted prior to release.

  • I want to ride the monorail in first person; they showed us this in trailers
  • They said there'd be no invisible walls or turns-around, and that was totally a lie
  • The inventory system is a huge mess; interacting with it is a giant pain
  • Same with crafting; you don't even see how much of a certain item you already have before crating more
  • There is no way to favorite, lock, or name items, making it too easy to disassemble an item you want to keep
  • We were shown stores with mirrors; even if that's out, we should at the very least have a try-before-you-buy option in the same vein as when we put on items we already own
  • NPCs have too few things they will say when you walk past them or are fighting them; the constant repetition gets very, very old before long
  • We were told that there would be self-driving cars, but not even your own Delamain does that
  • Speaking of driving, the minimap still needs an overhaul to be more like GTA's, which zooms in or out based entirely on your speed
  • Spawning cops further away but still behind the player is putting a band-aid on a gaping wound
  • NPC behavior is still too braindead; at the very least, they should stop cowering after the bullets stop flying
  • Enemy behavior is still too idiotic; they don't even run away from a grenade
  • Enemies also know V's gender even after a stealth attack, and...how?
  • We were told you couldn't customize cars (why?) but we were told you could customize your weapons with paintjobs, and that's obviously out
  • The window-computer we were shown is missing
  • It's pretty clear that the "Six months later" montage with Jackie was meant to be playable; that we're introduced to Mama Welles for about five seconds worth makes zero sense, given how much she apparently means to V, and that's just one example
  • In fact, that's not the only time it seems like we were supposed to know more than we did; how much content was cut, anyway???
  • They say style matters in Night City, but if NPCs react to your wardrobe, it's completely under the hood
  • The radio music is not even a little bit to my taste, nor does it fit my idea of the cyberpunk genre; we should have an option to make playlists from our own MP3s
Look, I could go on, but the fact is that CDPR really humped the bunk on this one by bragging so much in interviews and Night City Wires and then completely not delivering on huge chunks of it.
Bugs aside, this feels like 1/3rd of the game they advertised. At best.

And how do you fix that without basically tearing down the game and starting over? I really don't know that they can.

V should be able to pick up/romance all the hottie(even that 1 tubby) apc's roaming Night City. Tear it up with a Mr Studd implant and hit the ripper dock for the weekly VD shots. You should be able to steal cars(especially the ones at the Arasaka mansion) and keep them at a stash house/in your inventory. There are WAY too many locked doors. V needs to explore and grab more hidden stash. If you accidentally sell an iconic weapon you should be able to buy it back at some sort of penalty price from a Gun shop. Just a few examples of stuff to add

Face or eye tracking (pref VR with lowered graphics)

AI Scheduling (and no vanishing NPCs) - Oblivion managed to do that 8 years ago!
Better car AI and police that need to drive / fly to your location (GTA4 13 years ago)
More interactable NPCs, shopkeepers and open buildings...
Seriously, the braindead AI in this game actually makes it hard to keep playing (just started when 1.2 dropped) - I was expecting more!

I also would like more exploration buildings...we can see everything but not enter or interact with almost anithing aside quest related...i dont want every shop, building accessible...but man, some places to explore...

How about making each life path a meaningful choice, in some way? Rather than one off lines here or there... why can't I use my corpo background to get access to different restricted types of things, or my street kid starts me at a higher level of cred, or SOMETHING.

the corpo opening is a joke, you don't get to feel like a corproate fixer, you just get dumped so damn fast your head spins. I want to feel like I rule the world, like I can do anything I want, make the loss meaningful, if it even Has to be Lost... I swear the whole Johnny Silverhand twist was a gut punch. Absolutely hate that turn for the story.

I can live without it, but 3rd person camera option while free roaming would be nice, more BD investications / other BD activities vr style other wordly minigames or mini stories perhaps, more accessible indoor areas...

The short answer would be to make it Red Dead Redemption 2 but Cyberpunk. Not game play wise, I like the Cyberpunk game play, but RDR2 did very well with its world building, depth and immersion.

A more detailed list is probably going to sound like a "what I would buy if I won the lottery".

  • Better A.I. in combat and out for all NPCs. They don't always act logically and they don't seem to acknowledge each others existence or yours.
  • Some way to preview or try on clothes before buying them like in RDR2. I've resorted to quick saving buying and trying on the clothes Im into then quick loading and buying only the ones I want.
  • Public transit system I can ride would be fun.
  • Ripper Doc's you actually interact with, let us see the operations taking place like we did when we got new eye balls in the beginning of the game. Let us do more with it than buying like any other vendor
  • Reflect these augmentations and cyber enhancements on our characters. Change our arms, legs, various dermal implants etc. They only exist as stats right now and have no reflection on our characters appearance.
  • Let us get hair cuts and hair dyes.
  • More interactivity with other vendors. Give us the option to sit down at bars or food stand and eat and drink instead of just adding something to our inventory. When we do use food from our inventory show us eating or drinking something.
  • Adding the dialog options to end conversations. It never quite feels right just walking away from someone I was talking to, its like there's more dialog to be had but its bugged out.
  • Have your Stash in your apartment actually show what you own. There's foam molds on the wall for all the various weapons you can have. It seems like at one point you were intended to be able to display some of your weapons. Put that in! If we have multiple katana's just let us pick the one we want to display in the foam. Right now its just a magic room and I don't know where everything is kept.
  • Let the closet in your apartment be where you keep your clothes. Maybe show some of the clothes hanging in the closet when added.
  • Brain Dances you can buy and use at your BD terminal in your own apartment or go to a BD "cafe" and use them there as well.
  • Car Dealerships. Why is every car I buy parked in some random location? Who buys cars like that?
  • For motorcycles to stop doing endo's every time I summon one to my location. There's no need to slam on the breaks like that.
  • Fix the jacking in animations so the hand stays on the jack until it reaches the plug. Half the time depending on the location of the jack V's hand is floating near the jack while it magically floats into the socket.
  • Have dialog options to deescalate random encounters with enemies. Maybe I don't always want to get into shootouts with Maelstrom.
  • Going into the net with the Voodoo boys was really really cool, I want more missions and interactions like that.
  • See Trauma Team more. I forgot they even existed.
  • Sit on any and all benches. No reason not to.
  • Where are the old people, need more old people added. I want to see an 80 year old woman with cyber enhanced legs bookin it down the street like The Flash.
  • At the least paint jobs for your car.
  • Different side quests that reflect your background. I think there was a recent reddit thread that theorized this was originally the case but it was cut or consolidated into the main quest and side quests for one reason or another. Panam would have been the Nomad background missions, Judy the street kid and IDK that Corpo woman from the first mission would have been related to the Corpo background? I dont feel much of a connection to my corpo background.
  • Id like fighting the different gangs to feel different. Maelstrom seem to rely heavily on cyberwear, so have most of them use that. Animals make themselves really tough melee fighters so maybe most of them try to get close in some way. Voodoo Boys would try to cripple your cyberwear, and use more Netrunners, etc.

I could probably go on and maybe some of this was added and then cut either because of budget, time or design decisions, but this is a dream list or wish list. Everything mentioned in this list would take a lot of time to add though, none of it would be super simple to do. I suppose I do remain hopeful that a year or two down the line they're still updating the game and it will be closer to what they originally said it was going to be. Even just fixing the AI and more customization after creating your character would be a huge boost to the quality of the game.

Hell, Corpos in general seem to be more or less ignored after the first third of game, if that. Everything is Streetkid and Nomad stuff.
I know that's pretty traditional for cyberpunk, to see it through the eyes of the ordinary civilian, but c'mon... a whole aspect of this world basically left on the cutting room floor.

And, sure, you can point to specific examples of the Corpo world intruding upon the main story, but it's never really explored the way gangs and nomads are.

Fix the traffic AI pathing. Fix the brightness of car headlights in first person. The Porsche is the only one that is bright enough for them to be useful. All the others are only bright enough for you to see about 2 feet in front of you and that's useless when you can't even see over the damn dashboard.

My answer to that question has three layers.

Layer number 1: what would fix the game that we have right now.
The answer is: fix the traffic and fix the crowds. That would allow me to actually start playing for real, not just walking around the starting area and doing gigs. Of course the game has many issues and bugs but those two things would at least allow me to finish the game in the state it is right now.

Layer number 2: what would fix the game so it meets my expectations.
The answer is: fix all elemets of the game that are not working as intended. I'm not talking about remodeling progression system or the way shops or crafting works. I mean things like "I click at this thing and it doesn't do anything", or "if I go here and do that, the game will crash on me".

Layer number 3: what would fix the game in long-term.
The answer is: devs would have to look at what they have right now and how we as consumers reacted to it. And remodel the entire thing so it works with us, consumers. You could say "well, devs made the game the way they felt was right and that's their vision". To that I'd say "great, but if devs are not willing to modify their vision to meet consumers demand, they won't make too many millions of dollars". A videogame is a product they sell. Intended to sell to millions of people. If millions of people are not happy with the end result, devs would be kind of screwed...

Most of what would fix the game for me is a complete tear-down and redesign.

For example, ditch the 90s aesthetic and go with the more traditional 80s vibe.
Honestly, if I'd been made more aware of this beforehand--and it was hard to tell, since there was a lot of neon in the imagery they showed, especially with the Moxes--I never would have bought the game. I would have been disappointed... but this isn't the cyberpunk I grew up with and that's what I wanted.

More random quests, stuff that happens rarely and is hard to experience. Some kinda big boss fights, that take a long time. More vehicles and vehicle customization, AIRCRAFTS!!! Some fun kinda activity such as bungee or skydiving, imagine the possibilities in night city! Minigames, gambles, casino, card games, collectible card system with actual value. Bring back wall climbing/running, even if it's in a small designated "secure area", just for fun. Metro needs to be there and be useful, with unique characters to meet in there and maybe even random ticket checks etc. Real estate system with several purchasable flats. The gang system that actively affects the city, gang wars, ability to join a gang, working undercover for several gangs/snitching. The daily routine we were already promised, with recognizable characters to meet around the same time goin to work/home etc. Some underground with homeless meetings, ravers, illegal Party scene, maybe some kind of illegal cage fights. Posh places for the rich that are accessible if you're rich. Boats?!?! An island? Some natural danger in the outlands, generally more activities in the outlands, old forgotten places to discover such as an old mine or so. Flashlight/ light source. Tons and tons of character customization options after creating the characters such as tattoos piercings, etc. Fitness level, melee characters should be bulkier and stronger physically, hacking nerds not necessarily. Actual hospital where you respawn, with actual special forces flying you in and fighting for your life. Police Ai, police chases, maybe even joining the police, npc Ai, traffic Ai. Some underwater world, submarines, personal mini submarines. Clothes/cars getting dirty over time, car washes, washing machines at home. SERVICE CARS/TRUCKS. How does a city this size does not have trash trucks, cleaning staff, people littering he streets, green area maintenance trucks, maintenance guys working on broken street lights and broken neon ads. Sky scraper window cleaning services hanging off the huge buildings on a platform cleaning windows. Some people other than gang members doing illegal stuff sometimes, crossing at red light, running from police, maybe arguing on the streets. WALKING BUTTON. Pools, saunas, general wellness centers, cinemas and theatres with people in front of them standing in lines, i could go on and on, but what are the chances we get a single one of those?

EDIT just had a few more kinda cool ideas.
Road maintenance, with actual road workers redoing the lines, repairing the tarmac, fixing broken traffic lights.
Food trucks with hotdogs etc. Some kinda cool animated robot vendors, no people involved. House customization, new tv, new furniture etc. Trash cans on streets that actually fill up with time and people emptying them out on a schedule.
General building maintenance with ppl repainting houses, repairing roofs. Randomly generated events such as some pedestrian randomly passing out, some stuff falling from the sky, random blizzards hitting pedestrians under trees, kids playing around and falling, bruising their knees, breaking windows with a football etc. Talking football, where are the sports? Do ppl not do sports in the future? Football stadiums, baseball matches, tennis courts that are actually populated and can be used by us, excersises parks, some futuristic modern sport of sorts, anything really? Personal drones/drone option in photo mode, with actual controlls etc. Cars driving into puddles effectively spraying water towards pedestrians/us. Road rage! People not obeying Traffic laws, people fighting over right of way on streets, people purposely annoying other traffic participators.
Ok i need to stop

Hi Cyberpunk people

I completed the main story and all side quests

I suffered through the campaign and finished it. I started another character and it was a bit better on Xbox One X but still not to my expectations as far as the lag I was experiencing. It's not because of my internet connection, soooo. The solution came when I got a notification on my Xbox account that Xbox was offering a refund. So I took them up on that offer and the request has gone through. CDPR did nobody any favors by releasing the game they way they did. I'm following many others by getting a refund. I realize making a profit is what they set out to do, but lying to us prior to the launch was inexcusable. What I'd like to tell CDPR is not something I can say here, but I think they've probably heard it loud and clear. My only hope is that many others take advantage of the refund offers out there. Maybe then more game companies will think twice about releasing garbage.

-Maybe being able to let Jackie live and go away somewhere with Misty away from Night City.

-Able to side with Netwatch and Yorinobu to go against Arasaka in the ending (Dragon/ Crusade Ending?)

-V survive in a new cybernetic body or organic body and continue doing what he or she been doing

These.

All of these.

Story additions would be very nice. You wouldn't have to do every branching path, but could if you want to. I would prefer working with the Animals, the Moxes, and maybe the Valentinos. You wouldn't join those groups, but befriend key members, and do jobs for them. They could offer V black market weapons and illegally modified cyberware/bioware. Also information, tech support(Moxes), and places to lay low if V needs them.
Corps could be Netwatch(not really a Corp), Biotechnica, Militech, Trauma team, and of course Delamain. They would help V look for a way to survive/live longer if V helps them, and support V through weapons, military/prototype cyberware/bioware, hacking, transportation, and other resources.
Jackie Welles because I like the character and the story needs a bright spot. Also I should have had the option to save him from the start. Why couldn't I hack that drone at the top of konpeki plaza? (side thought Why couldn't I hack Adam Smasher and save Rogue/Saul?)

Other changes I would like to see is the inclusion of certain pieces of lore. The game totally ignores bioware, and a bunch of other technology. Every ripper doc should have a cryotank and nanosurgeon nano machines. 2020 had laser, why doesn't 2077? Others things include Fashionware, more Chipware(mini games/music on chipware), Bodysculpting( would allow the player to alter their body), Linear Frames, and maybe some local net running.

Game play mechanics I want improved are AI, improved weather system, being able to try/inspect on clothes before I buy, making Johnny Sliverhand shutup those pills are suppose to keep him quiet, my actions should effect the game world, and maybe a stock market.

World improvement like things to do and see out in the world. Playable arcade machines could be fun, and let us go and gambling. Would like more things to do with friends, Judy's scuba diving quest was one of the best side quest in the game. It informed the player about her and the world at large. Some more racing could be fun as well.

There a bunch of other things, but I'm sleepy.
