What I didn't like about The Witcher was that sometimes you get long dialogues with many choises plus cinematics before tough fights. The fight with the beast comes to mind. It was not possible to save before the fight and if you screw it you have to go through the dialogue again taking hopefully the same options, but faster, because you're already nervously thinking of a new battle plan. I think they should avoid these situations in the sequel.

1) Make the swordfighting more involved: blocks, parries, counter-attacks. At least a defensive stance. Use the enemy AI to exploit these: some enemies can't be blocked (monsters) or take more damage from a counterattack etc. +1 to throwing knifes . Not so happy with bows ... but silver chains or nets to trap monsters would be cool.2) Speaking of enemy AI. I don't care if it's harder or easier ( there's a difficulty level for that ) but make monsters and enemies different. Wolfs should attack in packs and try to surround you. A lone wolf should flee and try to get help from his comrades. Make it so you must use a different approach to a fight, even with a higher level player.3) Don't touch the magic system, seriously. Witchers use Signs because they're easier to cast while fighting. A witcher stopping to mutter some magic words and making complicated hand gestures is a dead witcher. Integrating signs into the combo system would be awesome, though.4) Add a Black Gull potion, dammit !! I want to see Geralt trippin' balls !!! ;D

The Main thing I would love to see in the Sequel is the ability to take my Geralt (as he is in my game ) and put him in the Sequel So that way there I do not have to build him up again.

The only problem with Geralt as the main character in the sequel would be starting over again at level 1. Ok, alot of games do this for their sequels, but it really wrecks the immerision. If they were to rejig the combat/skils system even a little bit it would almost b neccessary. Unless they say, makes us start at lvl 40 with talents to spend, but then how much room is there to grow from there?

It worked in Baldur's Gate 2.You start that either importing your BG1 character or with a higher level character and some skill points to spend.

I like Geralt the way i have him right now. I think it would be great if in the addon I could use the Geralt I had in the game I ike the way he turn out in the end and would love to get him higher. Starting over or getting him at a igher level with points to spend just is not as fun.

Hey guys. I just read the release date forum for the Enhanced Edition. Thought i would start this thread asking the players what WE want to see in the game?I would like:1. More varied types of armor and weaponry in the game (particularly swords as the games looks a bit boring when Geralt is walking around with the same old weapons every time you play it)2. Additional quests and sub-quests.3. Berengar to actually LIVE when he helps me take down Azar as he amusingly dies when Azar's hp get to a certain amount, even if Azar hasn't attacked him lol!4. Wider range of bombs, as there are very few and are not as effective as I hoped.5. The battle for Kaer Morhen to go for allot longer as it is quite quick and boring. I would also like the Cd projekt team to re-introduce the original storyboard where after the battle, Geralt and Berenger clear Kaer Morhen Valley of the remaining Bandits (i know this storyboard was scrapped as Berenger told Azar and the Prof. where to find Kaer Morhen, maybe make it another witcher? i dunno.)6. Introduce extra quests and areas like Keadwen and Redania, where geralt meets up with the Lambert, Vesimer and Eskel and searches for the stolen secrets/plus additional quests. What does every1 else think?

I think this was strongly discussed in several threads. There is a pretty good list of changes, which were made for enhanced edition(I just can´t find them right now). As far as I know:1. No new or modified weapons/weaponry will be presented2. There will be two new quests: The Price of Neutrality and Side Effects3. This has nothing to do with Enhanced Edition, Berengar can be saved as some people referred, though it´s difficult4. No changes with bombs or potions5. The battle of Kaer Morhen should be same6. see no 2.I suggest you read some of these threads:http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=10550.0http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=14239.0

I thought this thread was about ideas for an expansion not an addon. you are refering to the enhanced game not a sequel.

Hmm...this is strange, because supadogg123s question was in individual thread. It seems it was moved here, so in this thread my answer is quite pointless.Still I think he´s talking about EE...

This thread is mainly supposed for proposals of a new game. Nevertheless there's no harm in mentioning the EE's content as well. It may influence any future plans ;)

That worked because BG1 did something no RPG ever dared do again. It didn't give you even half the levels that are the regular lvl max of DND which is 20, after that things become epic. Compared to that Geralt is a almost perfect, unstoppable fighting machine at the end of the game. I don't really see how that character could be continued. Being almost perfect he would be boring to play. Don't get me wrong, I love Geralt. He is an absolutely great character, but I don't want him to suffer some more amnesia just so we can play him again. That would be pathetic as well. It will be tough to find a solution for this problem which has never been done before. I only see two solutions: 1. Geralt suffers some more amnesia (I certainly hope not!) or 2. We get some kind of protege and Geralt becomes a beloved NPC.

In a fantasy world it is possible for a player to pump himself up to to demigod proportions. That's because he's under almost unendurable pressure--he must become more powerful or die. But when the epic encounter's over, the pressure's removed, he can (and does) relax. The super fine edge of his training begins to slip away. To put it bluntly his level drops. It won't drop to lvl 1, but a lvl 38 Geralt might realistically be expected to fall to lvl 13. When he goes back on the warpath again, I would expect him to regain those lost levels faster than he did the first time (maybe half as many xp to regain a level as the first time). This makes the game more managable. If a sequel comes out the Geralt who attained lvl 38 might restart at lvl 13, make his way back to his ultimate lvl 38 rather quickly, and from there maybe gain 4 or 5 more levels. If he starts at lvl 38 it's going to be vey difficult to construct a new game. He will have to start out fighting dragons or creatures of that level. He will also have to lose his swords for balanced game play. This can be accomplished easily by having a master thief steel them from his house while Geralt's away at a party. This could actually be part of a sequel (Geralt trying to locate his swords and armor). Anyway I'm looking forward to a great sequel.

Well, I don't know if it could be envisaged, but, even though it is great to play Geralt, his potential for growth is a bit limited since he reached quite a high level at the end of the game. So, if we want to avoid the proverbial amnesia/illness/weakness etc., which was already used this time, another character would be needed. I'd personnally like to play one of the other witchers Geralt knows (after all, they did set out on the same quest he had, but we never heard of them afterwards). Alternatively, and that would in my opinion, be even better, we could play a sorceress or a mage. Very different gameplay, so it would imply more work, but mages and sorceresses seem to be part of fascinating groups, especially the latter (plus, our ladyfriends out there who play the Witcher would get the chance to have male sex cards, given the sorceresses' seemingly open and willful sexual personalities : a big step for gender equality in video games ;)).

I personally, would see this sequel learning greatly from the previous and change leaps and bounds to a better, yes better game!I myself would prefer an entirely new character as some posts above have stated, but to incorporate a feel of the 1st game, have Geralt there as a teacher, or a mentor. You can play with him and learn the how-to-play type beginnings in the first area of the game. Maybe later on he could show up at a vital time?!?! :eek:More flexibility as stated previously as well, such as character movement in fighting, moving through the environment ( jumping over boulders, cross a small river)Increased flexibility in character development, as in appearance (hair, scars, tattoos) no not like San Andreas, more of through the game, as in fighting, takes a nasty slice to the chest :dead:, permanent scar, possibly in a cutscene or something to add some player diversity. Changes the character to being a Static one (one who does not change throughout the story) to a Dynamic (Undergoes changes and development)Like others have said, player movement, from running, to walking, swimming, jumping, possibly different styles of the way the character carries out these motions, whether he's injured, fully healed, broken leg, ect. This would add alot of flavour to the game, and maybe if the character talks while say running for example, hobbles away after a battle and curses the monster he killed for breaking his shoulder, talks aloud to himself, saying a smart-ass one liner, it factors in a sense of comedy to the player at home and is much more fun.Last but not least, the title, out of anything out there, please not "The Witcher 2" or "The Witcher II", such boring, typical RPG names, add some flavour to it."The Witcher: Blood Hunt" or something cool you know? ::)Well that's my 2 cents, whatcha think? :)

i trust the team will make something nice and neat with everything for the sequel, but if theres one thing i connect the witcher to, its the awesome combat mechanics for an rpg,i would like to see new fighting styles, and diffferent weapon fighting styles, hell even if you remade the original witcher and put in some new combat content i would gladly pay out a full game price!and i would also like to see stealth combat and gameplay. Also something that i have always wanted is a grapple feature where you can engage in h2h brawl gameplay, be it with fists, daggers or swords, you could have it like if the witcher was fighting some tough opponent like gravir then when both were at half HP they would start brawling or you could choose to and it would end in a very cinematic way or in a nice finishing animation. just my 2cents

As long as we keep Geralt as our main character without any major changes in appearance I'm open for all new changes, abilities and adventures (except housing and pets).

yeah i strongly agree with that, the worst thing that could happen would be us playing other character. I think a huge factor that draws people in and facinates them is Geralt himself, the way he is and his long white unusual hair. Now chance of subject, how about they added that popular neverwinter nights feature of having parties?i think it would be cool to have a witcher party, since i would really like seeing geralt working with his fellow witchers more. And then lets say you start out with a witcher in party and later on you invite a stranger, think about all the intern conflicts between the witcher and the stranger and how you would have to choose etc. Im not saying this should be a huge feature but it could be cool as small thing.

BEFORE YOU RAPTORS RIP MY POST INTO SMALL PIECES READ IT AND THINK ABOUT IT!#1: Linear story works best for this game KEEP IT the story is what you have used to get us to buy the game so keep us happy! tho keep that nice idea of having to make choices that impact later! worked great at pulling you into the games story and feeling happy or sad later on when the impact of your choices hits you later on! like how Berenger helped in the final battle with javed and how he died, it made you feel sad yet happy he chose to die a heros death! all cause you showed compasstion and understanding to him and did not lord over him, let him make his own choices!#2: Add jumping, sitting on chairs/ crossed legged on the floor, this will help pull you into the game, i got annoyed that i could not sit down and talk instead of standing all the time like a moron!#3: Geralt IS the player forever and always! why anyone would want to change that i don't know.#4: Should Have at the start of the sequel a option on difficulty, and what choices (only the big ones like the girl you chose and other BIG choices you made) you made so it will not differ from what you did in the last game! (But don't make it really impact the new game much or it will make making the game hard DUH)#5: Make it so you settled down, (in murky waters, why there? Cause it's the perfect example of peaceful) with your women of choice from the last game, (or if with no women then all alone!) But have NOT lost all your fighting talent! This is to say that Geralt is a Witcher! he is supposed to be over powered on the little guys like drawners and your run of the mill annoying monsters that eat your dog at night! Just add harder meaner monsters quickly in the game and make the talent tree go even higher! give the player (at the begining) all the talent points as is possible to get from the last game (as in level to max, drank all the one time potions etc!) and let them add them to the (now extended) talent tree (but don't let them use it on any of the NEW talents).#6: The story should begins with you getting dragged into the new main plot by some one you know from the last game/or some one you knewbefore you lost your memory.#7: You should start with the ravens armor, the sword from the lady of the lake, and the steal sword you buy from murky waters (you know that curved one with +50 attack) a runed dagger, torch, and that dragon sword! I mean would a witcher throw away all his stuff from the last game!?? sweet ass armor and weapons? No! He would put them away for safe keeping but throw away? Never!#8: The combat is fine leave it as it is! to much change could ruin the feel!!#9: Be able to meditate at any fireplace in any house. why in gods name would I not be able to!#10: More friends from Geralts past and ALL the ones from the last game! or we might miss them!#11: No need for new armor or weapons! By keeping the weapons from the last game (see #7) it will make the first few bits of the game easyer for new players, As well as let you have that feeling of transference from one game to the other feel less annoying! making you feel like all your work was worth it!#12: Make the player feel a little more IN the game, add a mini game for sex with women! (NOTE!) This is NOT for dirty minded reasons! It will help draw you into the game, feel more a part of it and bring you feel closer to the women you chose in the last game!!#13: The women you chose should come with some perks depending on your choice.! (no suggestions! i'm no game maker!)#14: More contact with the other witchers would be nice but not a must, as the "lone wolf" of a dieing bread has a apeal of it's own!#15: How about being able to use 2 steel swords at the same time? i mean you CAN carry 2 at a time! could be a used for strong style.#16: Being as powerful as he is at the of the game, make the new stronger monsters have new annoying thinks other then blind, stun, bleed, poison, knockdown, pain and give them some new ones (cause your almost 50% of the time not going to have any of those old ones anymore) this way theres some new room to extend the skill tree, gives you something to look forword to.#17: I demand gnomes!!!Side Note!: Disagree/bad ideas!#1: Having my weapons stolen is a horrible idea! all my work down the ****** is just to much!#2: playing as some one else NEVER!! This is about Geralt and always has been!#3: losing levels and talents is retarded! we would lose everything we did in the first game! just extend the talent tree and add new stronger cooler monsters!#4: partys!?? Are you crazy? This is not that type of game and would only serve to annoy!! I (and many others) hated fighting with all those morons around me! I don't wont to protect a pack of morons that follow me around getting stuck on objects and getting in the way of me and my enemy!!#5: NO PREQUEL!! i hate prequels! I want to see what happened AFTER not BEFORE#6: If Geralt stopped being a foul mouthed lech he would not be Geralt anymore!! so keep him as he is!Side Note!: agreed/ideas!#1: Bring back Geralts vampire friend some how. I was interested in him when i herd about him.#2: More parts involving Geralts love interest (depending on your choice in the last game who it would be that is!) hell even shock us with her getting prego that would be a great twist!#3: The option to walk and not run would also be nice!PERSONAL QUESTIONS!!:#1: Why do 90% of people chose triss? she is not even that great, lier, rather sluty, rude, abusive, annoying!#2: Is it me or am i the only one that knows (this will tell you how and why Geralt came back to life!)
Triss was married to Geralt, and they adopted a little girl who had lots of magical power, she saved Geralt and brought him back from the dead only to die herself!? i mean they even explane it in the game!!
Those are my points of view!I will not trying and suggest a story plot, As I believe it should be made by you, those who made the first game, so it will feel more in line with the world of the witcher!Tho there is one suggestion! involve what was seen in the ending of the last game or people will think "WTF!". But you already know that! im blathering on so i will let you reply!Keep in mind i have no idea what it takes to make a game so some of my ideas may be out of the question just do to the time it would take to do them, so just throw them out the window if it's a stupid idea.Untell then I'll update that list when i get an idea.
