I am not sure this has benne said or not ... give Geralt his horse. Even if it's just for show, and isn't actually usable in combat. (I can see how that would require a huge amount of work ...)

Less monsters but much more poweful ones. It's just stupid to see higher vampires roaming in packs. In my opinion monster encounters should be like the ****** encounter in the sewers, more focused. Just like in the books.

Argh... I can agree with less monsters, but I think we need an actually "easy" option for the boss monsters. I'm NOT as fast on the keyboard and mouse as I used to be (age happens), and I have to literally schedule my play to time the boss battles for weekends when I can commit the time to fight my way past the $#%$#%@! boss battle (Oh how I hate kikimore queens). and thats ON easy mode. I would find it seriously nice to have the "ultra easy mode" where the boss battles are scaled back to super super easy, so that I can play on MY schedule, and not my "workaround" schedule. :((Demanding day job = minimal gaming time available).

Hello, I'm new to these boards. I just finished my second go around with the game. I love this game, and I want more.I voted for sequel, but see no reason not to have both a prequel, a sequel, or even parallel expansions of the game. I think the game engine rocks in the current version, so I lean more towards expansion than reinventing the wheel. Mainly because I'm greedy and want to see alot more modules of the game created. Sure a complete rebuild with a new story would be alright. But I think it would be quicker to create a couple of epic level expansions, and maybe a collection of short stories in series. Now do I download the insane difficulty mod and do this again?later folks.

More combo variations for the sword styles and maybe try to incorporate some of the misc weapons (daggers, axes, hammers) because I never really used them at all :eek:Similar choice driven quests, I absolutely loved how your choices affected the game. Also I'd like to be able to avoid the 1xp low level monsters once I reach a certain point. It was kind of frustrating running through the swamp cemetary and having to deal with drowners and bloedziguers all the time. I know the talismans are supposed to repel them but its kind of buggy and you still get stuck in combat a lot.

Please no sequel, no expansion, the game has been done to death with the enhanced edition> geeze how much more can they squezze out of a game. They are already squeezing the orange somemore by doing it for consoles now. How much more milage are they gonna get from one game??Like I say please please go away and come up with something else, yeah the witcher was not a bad game, but eh! come on folks there is only so much you can squeeze from one game before it becomes boring.

Oh wow, thank you!!!!!! And another thought for a sequel... Besides giving him his horse (mentioned in an earlier post), I would add the ability to use the horse for extra storage.... make it possible to maybe collect a few extra swords to sell when Geralt is on a slaughterfest if nothing else. :)

The Witcher shows what can be done with a true role-playing game to make it effectively an interactive novel. Just as with written novels, television series, and movies with sequels, the development of interesting characters in a believable context provides rich potential for entertaining sequels. Thus, The Witcher can be the greatest - or at least one of the greatest - dramatic game series in RPG history. That is why people are here participating in this thread - which incidentally is specifically entitled "What would you like to see in [an] expansion or sequel" - to say what they would like to see in an expansion or sequel. If you don't want an expansion or sequel at all, then I respectfully suggest that this thread holds nothing of interest for you and therefore is entirely iinappropriate for you.

That's the wrong attitude toward it since CDPR has stated that they've covered their expenses on making TW only recently. If they were in for the money, they wouldn't have spent as much on making the game in the first placeConsidering the amount of replies in this thread, your opinion is really that of a rare minority :)

The horse as storage is from... Oblivion and Daggerfall. In Daggerfall you had a horse, a horse with cart, a house (and you had quite the selection in all the various towns), or even a boat. All with varying prices (big house, little shack, big boat, little boat), and with varying capacity, so you could upgrade as you went along and earned gold. It was pretty kewl. Regarding sequels.... I'd be perfectly content with Witcher 2, Witcher 3, Witcher 4, Witcher 5.... its a good character, with deep story and excellent character development, lots of room for more stories. Good TV shows go on for years, with season 1, season 2, season 3, etcetera. No reason they can't do that with good games. For that matter, I could see remakes down the road, say in 10 years when the computer technology has improved that much... Think about how some of the excellent early games could be redone even with current visuals and technology.....

This is quite true; however, CDPR is nowhere near having squeezed all of the juice out of The Witcher yet. You mention the EE and the console version, but they're supposed to be the same game. A sequel, on the other hand, would be the same character in a new story in some new places, and not only do I think that CDPR can do that -- and beautifully, too -- but there are hordes of people begging them for that very thing. And in case it's not clear, I am among them. ;D

I'd like to see in the sequel a few novums, such as time-limited quests and a need to sleep and eat. I'm not gonna make 'the sims' out of the game, but if you can eat and sleep, though you don't really have to, it's too unrealistic. And the possibility to leave wemen surrounded by monsters behind, go, mess around for a week, and then come back and still resque them is also quite bothering. With those, the atmosphere in the game should be at least a little closer to the one in novel. What do you think? In most other aspects the game is perfect :D Keep that up boys ;>

It would make sense if all low level monsters would be "automatically repealed" when you reach a certain lvl. As soon as you show yourself as a big strong witcher they should run with their tails between their legs. Not just attack you as if you were a lvl 5.(this does not apply to drowners because they are just plain stupid)

once i wore the drowner repelling talisman ,it worked good and most of the time they did'nt bother me,only once in a while.problem is that when they are in your area you can't enter caves or other places or pick up loot and they don't run off, they just hang around until you kill them even if they don't attack.it might be somewhat helpful if you could wear several talisman's at once to repel other monsters too.i was however able to outrun any of them.after a while when crossing the swamp i just ran past many of the monsters and they would fade away if i just kept going. it would be really nice if he could swim and cross the areas that were blocked.i mean , it don't have to be open like oblivion but quite a bit more open would be nice. even if whatever area you were in the map was wide open it would be nice.

More free movement within an area, but keep the area system as it's a great tool to show a dynamic world in which things change. By keeping the areas, it can be shown how your actions influence the world around you. For example, imagine you have to help a camp of loggers against some generic forest monsters (just for the sake of the argument). If you succeed and return to the area during later parts of the game, maybe the clearing should be much bigger, a cabin could have been built, a garden planted. Conversely, if you fail the effects could be some unmarked graves and fresh trees growing amidst the stumps of the old ones, with the logger gone. It's technically a lot simpler to use that system, and it's a lot more bug proof. Games like Gothic 3 tried the completely free system and failed miserably (not even mentioning the pressure such a system puts on your processing power). That being said, I would like to actually see those changes. I liked "The Witcher"'s linear approach, but it would be nice if you could actually re-visit some of the places you've already been to during the game, and see what your actions caused. As for the expansion/sequel, I'd prefer playing as Geralt. You needn't even develop many new abilities for him as there are esay work-arounds for that: like letting the player move him through the prologue at whose end Geralt is almost mortally wounded and needs to relearn much of what he's known before. Yes, it's basically the same as with the original game, but seriously, can we make Geralt more powerful without breaking the setting? And finally, I'd like to have an editor more accessible for general modding. D'jinni is a nice piece of work, but it's also one of the reasons why "The Witcher" never will be as popular as the TES or NWN series: namely the fact that you cannot use preset tilesets (of which "The Witcher" would have plenty) to create your own areas and the stories surrounding them. You are basically limited to placing quests in the areas the game already provides. That's why there are literally thousands of mods for NWN or TES - and something like a dozen "The Witcher" (yes, I'm exagerating, I know). It was easy to mod with NWN's editor, even if your native language is not English. I'd like something comparable for "The Witcher", because the universe and the game both are superb. But like many others, I'm only a modder - not a modeller. CD Project really missed a chance here for long-term consumer binding. I hope they'll not make that mistake again, because this game really deserves its place in the sun.

Low level monsters--drowners, drowned dead, and blotzingers???--have their uses. Most notably their brains, tongues, blood, and other body parts make good, cheap reagents. When running through the swamp, short on such reagents, a well placed Igni or two (depending on the power of your Igni blast) can drop dozens of the critters in a few seconds. I do it all the time; no point trying to fight them individually. Usually in the midst of the left over goo there are reagents that Kalkenstein the alchemist will pay 20 or more orens per item. So I say leave the low levels in. They are a valuable renewable natural resource.
