I think physics are deliberately wonky in that tower so stuff will fly around and convey the "haunted" feeling. This is just a pretty funny byproduct of that.

I'm playing on the PS4 version, and in that tower specifically, it was happening whenever i went to a new floor. Also, it was always right in front of the door. The only thing I wasn't able to capture was when the painting on the wall tilted slightly, it caught me off guard a bit. However, as I was about to walk away it caught me more off guard when the painting randomly stretched, flew around the room, and right through the wall. I tried to recreate it to no avail
