As to where we can go as soon as we are able will be kinda tricky and even more so if combat or monster hunting is involved . Remember there is no level scaling and with that if one goes to an area at level 7 and they`re really not supposed to be there until level 15 then more than likely you will get your ass handed to you on a silver sword platter :p . As for myself I dunno . Will probably just explore for a while and take in the scenery until I get my feet wet .

I will do what I usually do - if the game allows it. Explore a certain area(s) and ignore any quest (main or side). I like to explore and talk to anyone and anything that I can. I like to familiarize myself with some of the surrounding landscape as long as I am able to.

Then, once I am done with the exploring and talking to people I start looking at sidequests and the main quest. Since I am semi-familiar with the area I can then plan some of the steps I will take in completing every single side quest available and then move on to the main quest.

I remember in Witcher 1, I just walked around in Kaer Morhen, enjoying listening to the stories and watching the scenery, feeling the atmosphere, mouth agape.

When arriving in the Outskirts, I think I talked with everyone and read all available books first(funded by dice poker wins) before even going outside the stockade. Ahh, the memories.

Likewise in Witcher 2 I was just exploring and taking in the scenery, talking to everyone while trebuchets pommeled La Valette castle.

So in Witcher 3 it will probably be the same, I explore the area I start off in, assuming I'm cut loose exploring on my own at the start of the game.

But yeah, I already have that special place in mind which I'm going to visit first of all:

So if I may go there early on, these fields are my first destination.

EDIT: It hit me(!) that me being able to buy those books were funded by fistfights.

I have always hated riding horses in games. I don't know why, but it always feels too awkward, like the implementation of horse riding was an afterthought and they didn't really care about the feel of it. But this image, if they get it right, is actually making me want to use a horse to explore the vast world of TW3.

Probably because you never played Mount & Blade.

Anyway, I don't know what I will do, but what I'm surely hoping for is a starting section/tutorial that doesn't hold you hostage of the plot progression too much and which is clever enough to leave to the player full agency as soon as possible.
In this sense the most well executed starting area/tutorial I can remember in recent years is probably Dark Souls: almost zero bullshit, full control from the beginning, a decent boss right away which looks far more threatening than it actually is and the entire section not only takes barely few minutes, but once you familiarize with the game enough can even be blazed through in seconds.

Once I gain control of Geralt I'll take my time and explore a little bit on my way towards the 1st official mission.

I don't think Geralt is in distress to find anyone in the beginning of the game, since he knows Yennefer is more than capable of handling herself. Geralt was trying to learn of Yennefer's whereabouts at the end of Witcher 2, and he was not concentrated on Ciri. Plus it was said that "the Trail" cinematic is the opening of the game, so my best guess is that the game starts with Geralt and Vesemir trying to find Yennefer.
Geralt finds out that Ciri has returned and she is in danger after speaking to Emhyr, but he knows Ciri is also more than capable of defending herself. So I'd say he might get a little concerned but not frantic. Shit hits the fan after talking to Johnny and the ladies and finding out that Ciri was wounded and on the run.
At this point Geralt thinks that her little girl is in trouble and she needs him, so he turns into the rabid white wolf set on finding his wounded child.

I'll go searching for the toughest area I can find at just level 2 and prove to the world that I AM THE STRONGEST WITCHER THAT HAS EVER LIVED.

Or to the brothel.

No, but seriously, strongest witcher and all that - I'm eager to check out the new combat mechanics and have some challenges.

Just wondering what everyone will do once the game opens up, I will probably go side quest crazy.
