What's up with the awful difficulty design now?

+
you can still one tap with basically any weapon if you build for it, its just the numbers generally aren't several orders of magnitude larger than most enemies have hp totals. So with maxed builds you generally you do 5 digit damage values vs enemies with 5 digit hp totals instead of 6 or 7 digit damage. But that overkill was always pointless anyway.

1.5 had a considerable stat squish in that regard but it doesn't really change things that much at level 50. What it does change is levelling up. You no longer get these ridiculous power spikes where you hit level 16 and have 6x crit multiplier and 12x headshot bonus and deal 400k damage to grey/green threat enemies with 15k hp.

As for the crashing, CP2077 works fine for me, but I have had some common crashing with a couple of other titles. I cleared up both by disabling cloud saving. That might be worth a shot.

For C++ and Visual Studio -- be sure you have both the x86 and the x64 versions of each edition. That's necessary for games to have all kibbles they may want to chew while running Windows 64-bit. MS Redistributables being incomplete or corrupt can be the cause of a lot of crashes.

(And I'm totally with you about Microsoft's invasiveness with Xbox bar, trying to force Internet Explorer / Bing, etc. It's pretty annoying to have to convince the computer, "No, thank you," only to have it pester you again with almost every Windows update.)

WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The game is running again!

So it was either the C++ 32 bit ver crap or the xbox bar being on by default by MS. Either way $%@# Microsoft and THANKS CD RED! I will be playing the crap out of ver 1.52 this weekend and now maybe I can get a better idea of what you guys are experiencing with the new damage and difficulty.

So im not really sure if i like the changes or not. Feels like i die very easily sometimes and no not by a sniper or something. Was testing some dmg in badlands (level 30 going for a more run and gun build) and with psalm headshots it takes 2-3 hits before yellow level mobs drop(no stealth). Was planing on building a pretty broad character with some body/reflex/tech as main stats. Think ill have too rethink it with a more specialised build.

2-3 hits generaly gets me so its either cover peaking or stealth build unless you wanna go for a netrunner (atleast on very hard). Gun play isent really that fun imo tho its slowely getting better while i level my skills with the weapons.

Yep they can (only talk about handguns) to answer about 100% crit chance + Overture build ;)
Nekomata, Ashura, Grad can for sure without any problem (and probably SOR-22 too). Even, without any bonuses added by perks, mods or Cyberwares.
i was about to chime in that snipers still one shot. my main weapons of choice. Overwatch makes me enter battles so much more cautious now but moving around scoping out the area is a lot more fun

So did they change how enemys HP scale? Havent played in quite some time but remember that there HP scale way higher then the player ever could achive. Thats why the 100% crit 300% dmg overture builds were so popular.

No, they just stopped showing Very Easy and Easy level scaling. So when you outlevel something, it just doesn't show on the map; only when you're underleveled.

The crazy numbers were removed so no more 300% crit chance. But effectively nothing changed. Same ol' CP77. Up to lvl15-25 they sponge and cheap rng one-shot you. After lvl15-25, good ol' god mode, even without exploits like Sandevistan, tech, smart or stealth (btw it's funny how the majority of gameplay features in CP77 can be classified as exploits...)

Great (y)
I believe you'll have a nice and enjoyable week end :)

um, yeah that just sounds like your opinion however. I mean like Max Pain Bullet Time (called Sandevistan in CP2077) was a 2001 major video game feature break thru that changed shooters and even some melee combat games for generations.

In my opinion, I love Bullet time. I have only experienced it once in RL that I can remember in martial arts and combat sports. I had thought I had risen to a new high skill level (I guess pro athletes call it the "zone"?) However I could never reach that again and then soon retired from sports combat after hurting my back.

That is part of why I play these immersive VR like games. To re-experience such wonderful feelings when ever I want to on my fun time. :p

Yup -- I adore bullet time. The Matrix was such an awesome movie. And Max Payne was an awesome game. It's just so much fun. Superhot is another worthwhile ditty (if you can grab it on sale. The normal asking price is a little high for what it offers, IMO.)

And right back to the meat of this:

So, from what I'm gathering now, the cheap deaths are gone, but the overall difficulty is increased, and the big issue is that now enemies take too many hits to bring down. I need to get back into it properly. Now, I'm dying to see what I'll think of the overall feel. (Keeping in mind that, for myself, I felt the game was much too easy pre 1.5. It sounds like there are not so many pushover enemies now. I do not appreciate being fragged out of thin air faster than I can blink. I do want that feeling of being trapped and pummeled out of existence in a matter of seconds if I mess up. If a fight breaks out, and it's like 5-to-1, I want to be sweating the whole time.)

I wouldent say its gone. Mobs with ARs can drop you almost as fast as 1 hit snipers. There aim is sometimes really shit sometimes dead on. I remember getting sniped by a AR mob from so far away that i could not find him(was just after 1.5 came out). He was spraying from around a corner so far way that i hade too run closer to be able too hit him -.-.

Weapon sway feels worse but that could also be because i restarted so dont have high skill with them yet. Its slowely getting better tho. Gunplay with riccoches is probably gonna become my thing since its a nice way too boost dmg and keep safe.

Its the opposite. If you couldn't tolerate getting stomped at low level by mooks prior to 1.5, then after 1.5 you take more incoming damage because of the stat squish. level 50 legendary armadillo was reduced from +270 armour to +75 armour and the total number of garment mod slots was halved.

Enemies also draw weapons faster upon detection and can shoot you out of the air. They used to take 3 seconds to draw weapons and they couldn't shoot you if you were outside of a 20 degree vertical cone (you used to be able to avoid fire by just jumping and staying above this cone).

Levelling on Very Hard is generally more difficult and your perk choices are more impactful because you don't get these ridiculous power spikes where you can suddenly crit cap with 3x crit multiplier. You no longer do 1 to 2 orders of magnitude more damage than mooks have hitpoints at any level.

A mix of hp, in combat hp regen, armour, mitigation chance/strength and movement/dodging or perfect stealth is all more impactful, not because they made it more powerful, but because you can no longer do things like stack 5k armour at level 18.

If hacking, any enemy can upload reveal position now, not just netrunners so stealth hacking requires you to either kill everything before they detect you or you need to play around devices/distraction + enemy sight and hearing radius. You will need to use sonic shock to block reveal position if you can't separate enemies. Ping/contagion was hyper nerfed in 1.3, so kill chaining is expensive and requires RAM management.

Has anyone tried various weapon effects yet? I'm hoping that now caustic weapons will do more damage to organics, electric weapons more damage to robots / mobs that are really borged, etc. That was one thing I really felt needed a revamp (combat-wise). When 1-2 shots killed pretty much anything...

Honeslty, I can't really said :(
My knife deal insane poison damages (mostly due to COOL perks). But absolutely none on robots.
My silenced Overture deal physical damages and it "one or two shot" almost everything.

The last "significant" fight against a robot was in the Konpeki and a SMG with electrical damage made the job quite well (even better than expected). But I don't have any comparaison, the last time I fight this robot was before the 1.2...

Hmm i wonder if the poison talents work on other weapons aswell. Might be worth using some talents and getting a poison weapon if thats the case. Guessing its a special poison applyed trough the talents or something....

I have only used fire weapons so far so cant say much but ill keep an eye out, fire works pretty well agains humans atleast but i think its no bigger dmg then physical dmg..

The perk "poisonous fangs - (all the attacks with knives apply a poison effect)" only work on knives. So useless with all the other weapons.
But the perk "Neurotoxin - (double poison damage)" would work on all weapons that have a poison effect. I think with "Divided We Stand" (iconic smart assault riffle which have high chances to apply poison effect), it could be really efficient (welcome to the puke party^^).
At least against humans. I never saw a single "green" damage on robots and drones :)

Was planning on going quite deep into cool this time so might test it out. twice the dmg would be kinda nice if it works. Wonder if the slow might work too, guess it depends on if the knife poison is special or if its just "poison". gonna test it out atleast. might even get some knifes for trowing this time around.

It's just "normal" poison.
Generally, if they don't die directly (because I missed the head), enemies don't have time to run. They puke and die a little bit later by the poison effect (and the best, they don't have time to alert their buddies, generally) :)

Hehe gonna test it out whenever i feel like playing more. Sadly kinda bored with the game atm so i think ill do it next time a bigger patch or expansion comes out... unless i really feel like playing someday.

With the first expansion (at least if you install it), it's a good reason to play it again :)

So long as it isnt as bad as GTA where they always have laser-accurate assault rifles that kill in 2 hits while you have no clue where the enemy is at, then I reckon Cyberpunk will be fine.

Cant say I have that experience. Playing around much with my trusty Grad and the sway seems fine to me. As far as I recall there's also no possibiliy of upgrading that is there?
Not sure though if sway behavior is different between difficulty levels, aince my year old character heralts from 'Medium'

Your level in that weapon (AR, pistols, so on) affects reload times, dmg, wepon sway while aiming. It kinda makes sense tbh but i was really frustrated when it gets hard too hit stuff. Also gorilla arms should pretty much neglect recoil and weapon sway tbh... This is the first time i spent point in recoil reduction in the talent trees tbh, dident need too before 1.5 so either my aim has goone too shit or something has changed ^^
