Where is my Gear from TW2 in TW3?

Where is my Gear from TW2 in TW3?

Well, where is it? I spent hours tweaking my playthroughs on TW2 to get my sweet gear, having real trouble finding it after loading the saves. Where is it? We got our sweet gear in TW2 from TW1, so how come we didn't get it this time around? Even a nerfed version would be fine, as long as I can look like a bad-ass for at least 3-4 hours while I level up.

The gear from TW1 to TW2 was useless within half hour imho... which is fine, for balance purposes it'd be silly to include gear carryovers.

I agree with OP!

it was a very nice detail to carry over the Gear from TW1 to TW2, and i was therefore hoping to see the same thing with the gear from TW2 to TW3. I am a bit dissapointed!

Agree with OP as well. They might be useless after a while, but I spent a lot of time and effort in TW2 to get that gear (Especially that Dark Mode Gear) and now it feels like I did it for nothing (or at least just to have a somewhat easier bossfight).

And what does this tell me about the value of my effort roleplay-wise: Geralt just didn't like that armor-set, so after two weeks he just tossed it for some Kaer Morhen Armor. Or did he maybe just lose it?

If only low-level armor didn't look this ugly.... I know I know.. they don't want us to run around in badass looking armors on the early lvls, but seriously?
I'm level 10 and still wear the default armor (which also look like a onesie with added pauldrons...) because all other available amor with better stats makes geralt look like a court jester in baggy pattern ridden jerkins. They too much resemble real life medieval attire.
A few jacket designs resembling w2 armors wouldn't hurt at all.

If you want good looking low level armor, get the DLC temerian set. I love the feeling of constant improvement and getting better and better looking stuff. If I got the great TW2 set I'd never upgrade armors which means I'd have too much cash so it would cause two problems - gold would lose meaning and I'd keep wearing the same stuff for way too long.

I'm sure cdpr will entertain our requests for item import, at least in Enhanced edition of the game, if the community will demand persistently enough.
These two swords are from the W2, so its curious that stuff importing and models have already been made, but shortly before the release were cut from the game. Why? No way it can somehow break game balance :lol:. And I was hoping for amazing quests to lift the curse from the dark armor on the Skellige.

CDPR stated before release that there will be no item import this time, because the gear variety in TW2 was too big to proper translate all the possible endgame gear to TW3's systems.

You and Vesemir spent six months on the road in the intro, so they must have sold off all the gear to pay for the journey.

Those are two out of...how many armor, gauntlets, swords, pants and boots were there in TW2?
Putting all those into TW3 only for the player to swap them after an hour or so just makes no sense and is a waste of development ressources that could (and probably has) be put into new gear.

The item import from TW 1 to 2 only worked, because the amounts of different models and items in TW2 was VERY limited. You only had ONE armor to import for example and only a handful of different swords.

This, there is a time between the end of TW2 and the beginning of TW3. Seems only realistic imo that Geralt would change some equipment inbetween.

But was going to be, as we can see on screenshots above. Its not necessary to import all exact characteristics of the gear, it can be adapted to new game.

Alas, selling off Addan Deith or cursed armors for a piece of bread is poor explanation.

3 armors and plenty of swords in Witcher 1 like holy sword of the order, but player was able to import only few top things, and it is reasonable.

Wonderful.
Can't wait, when I find again kinslayer's diagrams and some carts full of gold for it's purchase and forging.

Don't hold your breath, since much of the most powerful gear in TW2 is pretty mediocre in this game...

Sure I don't, actually whole post about carts with gold is ironic, no one can get any pleasure from reobtaining the same resources and armor again. ;) And imported armor should be mediocre or even less in new game for reason of obtaining new more powerful things. But it is very cool to see and feel a bonus in the beginning for your spent time and efforts.

Some of the TW2 gear shows up as relic items in treasures- I have found several of the dark mode swords and other named swords that I recognize. I have not found any armor sets I recognize from W2, but it's possible some of them are hidden somewhere.

while you don't get the imported gear, you do find gear with familiar names all around the game anyway, it'd be nice if the design stayed the same too, but what can you do, not everything has to be perfect

I don't so much care for the gear as I care about my money. I was filthy rich in TW2 and it saddens me that I'm back to being a peasant again in TW3.

Did my eyes deceive me or I actually saw Addan Deith dropped from a grave hag? What a ridiculous epic treasure finding, lol.

And you didn't die using them without complete set of items?

I've search in google and — a lot of old swords really become hidden treasures. So it seems that at a time when drunken Geralt was searchin for a way out of Lok Muinne, a little kleptomaniac imp stole innkeeper's chest and hid Geralt's armory around world.
If someone finds where he hides - please tell me, I'll slay that little asshole and hang his head on a Roach's back.
