Do you have three runes? If so, you should have the option at the blacksmith's. If not, er, you need three runes to make a runesword; one isn't enough.

Also, (if you are using 3 runes) make sure the runes you are using aren't temporary runes. Runes that give either sword a temporary buff. I did that in my first playthrough.http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Runes -Witcher Wiki's section on runes, contains runes for runeswords, temporary runs, and metorites (where to find them, ect). The wiki contains spoilers. So if this is your first playthrough and/or want quests to remain a surprise be careful what you look up in there. :)

You don't just buy a rune sword; you get one reforged, the same as with a meteorite sword. I just went to Chapter IV, to check for you, and the option to reforge a sword was there. It's not a dialogue line, it's a button to the left of the dialogue:
Also, while you're thinking about swords in Chapter IV, Gwalhir is an unusually nice steel sword, which can be bought from the blacksmith.

Ok I'm getting closer, lol. yes I bought Gwalhir already, and I know I'll recieve Aerondite not too long from now, but still have over 16000 orens burn so I want to forge one. When I click the hammer button, what do I do from there..? lol I've sold him a bunch of items already, but when I try to click on my witcher sword it says he doesn't buy it and that he will buy the runes, but I don't see a button or way to forge the sword.... I'll go back n keep looking tho.. thanks for the helpHAHA. OK, Nevermind! --Because I had a bunch of stuff already in his inventory from selling to him, I didn't notice the new swords there for me to buy. Thanks!

EvilSlayer72 asked this question in the General Discussion section and got his answers there, so this thread is now obsolete.
