I really believe that the CD will make an official statement on the state of the game soon - I hope. I understand how difficult it is to make a game as they dreamed, but I think they are capable. In fact, I think they can still revolutionize if they want to.

I agree with you. They'll keep improving the game, so that there may be huge difference between first version and latest one. In every topic.

Pure Speculation:
This game has been in development for years. How many years are you going to dump money into a project that looks like it is never going to get off the ground until you cancel it, or cut funding to a much smaller staff?
Ok, we get a release date. Save the game from being cancelled. Give us some time, aaannnddd, COVID.
Pull a few ideas that they weren't too far into, and just try to polish what they have. Most likely they needed a full unobstructed year to do this, but, no one got that in 2020. Pull a few more ideas to save time.
What we are left with is this which is out, and they will now continue working hard to improve what they can.

There has not been any comment from CDPR about what they sold through their marketing is not the game customers purchased. That practice is illegal where i live, and most likely illegal where most people who bought this game live.

Like i sad before there is no way to make now the character choices relevant like in "The Outer Worlds".
In CP2077 nothing matter regardless character only the choices in story mission matter no matter who you play, how you play you have access to the same mission, same endings as every other character!.
Basing game endings on mission choices and not on Our Character Starting Point or how we play the game is the most anoint way to play RPG. I know we have the same system in Witcher 3 but in that game we all play the same character that why we have only mission choices to influence endings.

And there are many promises that are far more complicated that storytelling which where mention in this thread

I think the CD could turn the game into something more 'free', without depending on the story, even if we have to go through it (and it's a good story). But the game suggests the open world, multiple choices that determine paths. The CD could have been more sensitive to that, it was not, in my view.

I saw someone do the same with a car; standing on the hood and getting taken farther and farther from his current quest objective.

I actually disagree with that. kicking people out only make sense if they're incompetent and produce a bad game.
This isn't the case with CP which is a great game but unfinished. Clearly, what's lacking about this game isn't competence but time and/or grounded thoughs (they dreamt too big on that one).

It's important to make the distinction since both issues have to be treated differently.
A bad game will remain bad no matter what you do (the team isn't gonna change anything because they don't have the competence and the game being bad at its core is impossible to save anyway), a good game that's unfinished can (and should) be fixed (and therefore requires the team to stay).

The last thing CDPR needs right now is more chaos. They shouldn't think about who's to blame for the current situation but work together to make things right instead.

I agree, it's not the greatest but it's not the worst! I play BDO which is one of the top MMOs right now... an npc has been hammering on the same board for 3 years now 24/7.... City feels more alive in CP2077 than games I've played.
I've never heard of a game where you can go up and have elaborate conversations or interactions with tons of NPCs, unless they are giving quests.
When I see people complain about NPCS, I'm like do you count all the quests NPCs? Sure if you aren't doing a quest no one has much to say/do - but again what game isn't like that?
You think I read all those shards we collect? Hello no. Same thing in BDO - you think I sit and read all of the dialog the 1 thousand NPCs spew on... nope - spam the button to open the quest and move on.
I'm not sure how people got the idea THIS would be THAT game. I do understand it's not what you wanted expected, but I just don't get how/why some of the things were expectations. They seem more like wishes.

Thanks for the valid points. Was there supposed to be lots of random braindance? Because there are some - at least 2 so far in quests. Not 20 sure, but they a;re there.
There are joytoys... again only 2, but they are there. Would 15 make you happy? And why would more make it better?
Was there "supposed" to be mini games - did they ever say that specifically?
I get it's not what you wanted, but 90% cut I don't believe it, unless you can show me you completed main story with over 40 hours in.
It keeps making me think of that picture with the cheeseburger ad - no one really thinks their burger will look like that. You get it and well, it has a sliver of tomato, tiny beef patty, eatable bun, sliver of lettuce, etc. It's there. I hear you saying they forgot the bacon and ketchup, but please enjoy the rest of the burger

Not even close.

Cop AI that spawns on top of you or behind you even if you had your back to a wall. Have you seen the video where a dozen or more AI all get out of their cars and cower at the same time? What about cop AI that do nothing when gang members are committing crimes? Try stopping your car in the middle of the road and see how realistically they respond. The list goes on and it's stuff in which 5-10 year old games have done better, and it's currently 2020.

People are not complaining about NPCs having no meaningfull dialog, but about their behaviour. They just spawn and despawn around the player going from nowhere to nowhere, which is the very opposite of what was promised.

There will be over 1,000 Cyberpunk 2077 NPCs with daily routines - VG247

I don't think that video is fair. First of all people react when I look at them if they are gang members no doubt or if I bump into them.
Main thing though is comparing GTA FIVE to Cyberpunk "one". GTA has been jackin cars for 5 games - they sure as hell better have perfected it. That doesn't mean Cyber can't build off what GTA has learned, but it's different - it's not apples to apples (I hate that analogy)

I wanted to know where the subways, trains are. In addition, I remember that one of the developers said that each NPC would have a 'life of its own', a daily routine - what we see is the opposite, just NPCs with 'paths', repetitive and without any code or, that rarely exists.

I understand the limitations of processors, but I'm beginning to assume that the game has been 'shattered' - so to speak, due to technical limitations and the rush to launch worldwide. However, I want to point out that the game has huge potential - as well as I dared to say that about another game that had a similar fate (No Man Sky) and today has good reviews.

I guess a lesson to take away is take whatever they say with a grain of salt. Maybe there are "1000 NPCS" and they have "daily routines" but not saying 1000 daily routines.
I've so far seen random NPCS:
holding each other, talking on phone, using phone/tablets, dumpster diving, smoking, drinking, eating, preaching, listening to said preacher, tweaking, puking, taking a selfie, doing Tai Chi, and playing a guitar
I agree it's not what was presented or "promised," but I personally walk around and feel people are busy doing stuff and that's enough for me. I want things to happen, I start a quest pretty much same as any other game I've ever played. If I did zero GTA quests and just walk around, it's going to get boring - unless I'm missing something

But that burger is just that, a depiction. They don't physically bring the burger out to show you and then when you order, bring out one without cheese and the burger missing. It was many promos and gameplay releases that gave us the vision of CP2077, tangible elements in operation. Elements that either didn't materialise or were reduced for the final cut.

Enjoying the rest of the burger is a little difficult. Many of the gripes of the community are such that they void replayability. Because after you have got your bun with its missing cheese and burger, do you go order another one? you likely ask for a refund or speak to management about where the rest of your burger went.

All these burger references made me hungry lol
